Yes obedience ...but that is obedience in the Spirit, not in the flesh...that was my point before that the flesh can put on a show of outward obedience but it cannot truly obey spiritual laws.

Obedience is in the "spirit"...faith, not in the "letter"...flesh

Yes obedience in the Spirit is what a born again believer will do, and that obedience will show out in our outer actions, speech, and deeds. If it does not there would be no way to tell the saved from the unsaved, and the Lord clearly says we will them by their fruits. If the Holy Spirit is in a believer they will not continue to walk as they use to, and how the rest who are not saved that continuously give into sinful lusts.

Even Paul points out and carries on what the Lord said about if you see a fellow member in Christ sinning.
Lord Jesus says to point it out to them, then bring them before a couple others if they don't listen, then bring them before the whole congregation if they still do not listen.
Apostle Paul takes it a step further in 1 Corinthians 5, that if they still don't give up their sinful lifestyle cast them out of the church.

before the law was given, the sabbath already was (as yahweh himself testifies always), and was simply kept/observed/honored by those chosen by yahweh.

in russia, without torah(written law), they tried to do away with the sabbath, using law enforcement/soldiers to do it. they had such chaos in a few months they stopped.

THE FATHER confirms everything to His children. with written torah, and without .... (even the outside 'dogs'/ 'gentiles' who observe Torah without having written Torah and without human training in Torah are commended in Scripture(by Yahweh's Written Word).... Yahweh doesn't change.

Right.. fruits of the Spirit...not fruits of the "letter"...the fruit of the letter is dead works and hypocrisy...death

2Co 3:6 ¶ Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

I agree with you(I normally do lol) Maybe I word what I mean wrongly at times. I do believe 'the law' God would have reflected in our lives is place on our hearts and written on our minds at the point of conversion, for that is the way the Bible terms it. That law makes me conscious of my sin. But I in myself cannot make myself obey the law on my heart and mind. I have to look away from myself and to Jesus, trusting I am eternally secure with His Father because he paid the price of my shortcomings. I trust in him, through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit to bring me to live an evermore Holy life which reflects the law placed on my heart and mind.

I like Pauls words. Against the fruit of the Spirit there is no law(Gal 5:23) So another way to look at it is, the more I look away from myself and trust in Christ to sanctify me by the Holy Spirit's power the more the fruits of the spirit grow in my life. Those fruits contradict no law of God but are rather the embodiment of them

If you think that is in any way wrong, please let me know. I am always willing to be corrected, if I know the person is someone blessed with much spiritual truth.
No. That was brilliant.

Just one of the arguments made by the legalists is that the 10 commandments are written on our hearts and minds at conversion. So when people say law I just like to expound. Its my ocd problem...

Great minds thinking alike!

1 John 3:4

Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
Sinning is lawlessness, not keeping the commandments out of love, for if you are keeping the commandments you are not sinning. And if you are not sinning you are keeping the commandments. It works both ways !!!

With all due respect, what are the 'commandments' you are referring to?

Not sure now...forgot! ..... but its clear that those under the law are in the flesh.
Those who are 'believers' under the New Covenant, words/teachings of LORD JESUS CHRIST, are in the carnal/flesh too 'proceeding' and 'enjoying' Grace period. They do not or know not or struggle to 'do/practice' them that are 'spirit' and 'life' of CHRIST give a Covenant of GOD to HIS redeemed through CHRIST people, in order fro them to 'learn' how to forsake carnal/flesh and excel in the HOLY SPIRIT through the written New Covenant.

GOD called 'believers' through CHRIST in 'abiding' in HIS words/teachings and 'practices' according the New Covenant, that helps one's 'true consistence repentance to GOD and living with CHRIST', through labor guided in them all, in 'Spiritual sound doctrine knowledge of GOD's Covenant to HIS redeemed people', in forsaking one's carnal/flesh's 'passions' and 'desires', that is 'evident' in their 'fruits' that which also 'wars' against the 'fruits' of HOLY SPIRIT and 'stop' them from doing what they want to do, according to Galatians chapter 5 as well.

And so, let us not be in 'ignorance' to the 'rejection' of CHRIST to 'come'.

As it is written;

"Workout your 'own' salvation in 'fear' and 'trembling'."

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

When you find you aren't able to keep the law perfectly as it was intended then we have further instructions.

Matthew 11:28-30
[SUP]28 [/SUP]Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
[SUP]30 [/SUP]For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Sorry, you have 'jumped' and have 'picked' and 'chose' once again testifying 'partial knowledge faith'.

It is as going ahead from CHRIST and HIS 'commandments' and 'continuing' to become 'shipwrecked' in time to come.

What about the others of CHRIST, 'yous' have 'jumped' forward from, in 'faith' of 'pick' and 'choose' to 'justify'?

Do we have to again and again 'pick up' what 'yous' have 'left behind' that is also of CHRIST, and again and again 'labor' to give them back to 'yous' to also 'consider', by the Help of the HOLY SPIRIT?

1Ti 1:6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
Desiring to be teachers of the law;
understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
Apostle Paul is 'referring' to the 'Old Law of Moses', one not understanding the requirement of GOD according to them.

Not of CHRIST, all written in the New Covenant, which are 'spirit' and 'life' 'practices' for a 'believer', in order to become the 'spirit-man' like JESUS, by 'forsaking' carnal/flesh's 'passions' and 'desire' through 'workout abiding' in them as their 'faith foundation'.

If a believer is keeping the main two commandments of Christ to believe in Him and love others, then walking in the Spirit of the greatest fruit of loving will not have you want to steal, kill, bear false witness, adultery, idolatry, covet, and so on as love fulfills by upholding the moral commandments of God.

Please as Christian, what is the definition of 'not to murder'?

Thank you again.

Sounds just wonderful but Paul disagrees...

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Rom 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Rom 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Rom 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

if you cant get mathew 7 in context, then what is the chance your context is out in romans 8.
your context is out,
even reading this you need the future to revel a christian gentile.
this is who jesus (below)was talking to.in matthew 7

28 And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching,29 for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.Matthew 7

would anyone in the crowed, be a gentile saved with/by a new covenant because jesus is not back in heaven yet.

acts 15 came after jesus was back in heaven.
acts 15 already told the gentile he /she has a different law.

if you cant reading the word with human eyes, never mind spiritual, at this point, gos, to show your out in time and dates. so in other word are talking rubbish, to keep it simple.
Sorry to say that your 'misunderstanding' to 'spiritual teaching', 'sound doctrine' knowledge of the Kingdom of GOD and 'behavior', should be thrown into the 'rubbish'.

if i were to believe what you 'testify', then GOD should have given two Gospel, one for the Jews and one for the Gentiles.

Were the Jews 'saved' then apart from the Gentiles?

Acts chapter 15, is one of the 'law' given to the Gentile Christians, as the Jerusalem church were 'accustom' to, in order to make a peaceful assertion against the 'customary division', the tension between both.

Know this and 'thus says the LORD', that the 'commission' were given to 'Jewish' Apostles, to 'preach and teach .................' the Gospel(the whole thing) to all nation, and they are written in the HOLY BIBLE as Gospels of CHRIST.

Do not 'pick' and 'choose' to justify your 'imperfection' because 'Your fruits never ripens'.

GOD bless 'yous'.

There is a way of looking at these issues from a transactional point of view. An action is done.
The action is done with the Lord or against Him.
The gospel is very intimate, "You are my friends" "I and the Father are one" "Love your neighbour" "Love your enemy"
Without knowing your emotional life, seeing context, and what is best in an interaction it is hard to get to this place.
The law helps with gross failure. But who in a strong loving relationship looks to a book of law to say what is appropriate or not.
Sometimes one small action, when understood reduces you to tears. We have one statement of love, absolute, impossible, the death of Jesus on the cross. It defines sacrifice, patience, walking with a goal in mind. It is not self righteous, self justifying, pompous, but it is victory, it is truth, it is life. Those who want to play gods, or argue this group follow the "law" better than this group, have not known this man, the Son of God, Jesus. He causes us to bend and worship, to feel all our efforts are like dirty rags. So be careful not to dishonour the gift you have been given....

We have to take into context what the Ten Commandments were and how they were fulfilled IN CHRIST. The old Testament was GOD WITH US...the NEW testament is GOD IN US...BIG difference...we have the COMFORTER, the Holy Spirit that JESUS told us would come AFTER he left earth. We cannot go wrong by reading the historical Ten Commandments..but we are fortunate that we can look back and see the steps taken by GOD Himself to the coming of His son, JESUS. THOSE wandering Hebrew children, chosen by Jehovah, looked forward to their Messiah only. Those Ten Commandments were for them for many reasons. The Law simply reminds us that humanity is far from perfect. Our righteousness is as filthy rags. Keeping those commandments will not give us instant salvation that we are now offered, via JESUS CHRIST and HIS sacrifice.

Exo_31:3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
Num_11:25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.
Num_11:26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.
Num_11:29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD'S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!
Deu_34:9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.
Jdg_6:34 But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him.
Jdg_13:25 And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.
Jdg_15:14 And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.
