Easter is four weeks away! Aren't you all excited? I am! Especially because it's the celebration of the most important day that has ever existed! The day we were offered freedom from death.

I know some people called it "Resurrection Day" but I kept Easter because that is what I called it growing up. To me Easter is all about Jesus' resurrection. Some people complain that it's a pagan holiday, and it might be, heaven knows, but can't we just be happy that it is now known as a Christian holiday? I have heard that the Easter egg symbolizes new beginnings and birth. So even that has Christian meaning.

Anyways, I just thought I would make a thread about Easter and maybe we can post pretty pictures of Jesus, eggs, crosses, bunnies or whatever you want. We can share stories of our best/worst Easter Sundays and just be there for one another. I know some of you are alone and don't have families. This thread is for those of us who want to share the love of Easter with everyone else.
Please, don't be offended by the thread. It is meant to be fun and loving for all. Love you all and Happy Easter!

ATTENTION ALL DEBATERS: I am going to take care of all the normal ranting for this thread so you won't have to.

Here we go.

*Ahem* Easter is pagan! The easter bunny and egg hunt have roots in pagan fertility goddess worship ceremonies! You shouldn't celebrate a pagan holiday! That is something God hates and you will go to hell if you participate in it!

And besides Jesus didn't really rise on Easter Sunday! It's on a different day every year, how can it be a celebration of Jesus' resurrection if it's not on the day he rose?! And besides all that, I have proof (through divine revelation, which you wouldn't understand because you're not as spiritual as I am) that Jesus didn't even rise on a Sunday!

So there!

Okay, all the ranting is done for this thread. Anybody else who wants to rant about Easter being pagan, we shouldn't celebrate it, etcetera, please go find another thread.

Now with that all out of the way............................

Well of course it's not the exact same day. No one really knows what day it was. But can't we just agree to celebrate it on Easter Sunday? Can't you just be happy that we celebrate it all, that the Lord can use a pagan holiday for his own glorification?

God forbid someone tries to make a nice encouraging thread on this website without some of you making it into a battle or argument.

I'm sorry for being a little rude but I have found that the threads I've made usually have negative replies, like the cat thread or the Pixar Theory thread.

For someone that suffers from depression, positivity would be nice.

MollyConnor: My previous post was made rather tongue-in-cheek. There are debaters on the forum who are naturally drawn to threads like this. Ugly's comment about the impending battle was referencing the same thing - to wit, the debaters who like to descend on these kinds of threads and start yelling about how whatever-day-you-are-celebrating has pagan roots.

In my previous post I was doing two things. One, making a joke (not a GOOD joke, I admit, but a joke of sorts) about the kind of things the debaters usually yell about. Two, I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, if I took all their best lines they would not clutter up this thread with their fussing about pagan holidays.

The only thing I said in my previous post that was 100% serious was that last line. HAPPY EASTER!

I LOVE EASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we have church services wednesday, thursday, friday, (skip saturday for rest lol), sunday sunrise service and sunday afternoon service. i loooove it!!! it's a busy weekend but it's awesome

sometimes, DST landed on that particular weekend, so waking up for sunrise service was brutal! as a kid, i always fell asleep during this service, but as an adult, i don't have permission anymore lolol after sunrise service, we all have breakfast and fellowship. *happy sigh* yaaaaaaaas

Last year I got a Lindt white chocolate bunny. It almost, ALMOST turned me to the white side. I'm still a dark chocolate only guy, but it was a mighty close thing. Yummmmm!

I don't mind easter, in fact I would love it if I wasn't at my house doing it. Honestly I have a large family and a small house so there is no room its so loud and I can't relax and enjoy my quite time. I do however love boiled eggs and chocolate and I will be online easter day watching the forum turn into chaos with all the easter is pagen or if you celebrate it your going to hell threads. a quick heads up ppl when this happens and cc becomes an easter armageddon whatever you do don't go into the bible discussion forum.
