I have been retired almost four years now. How long have you been retired?
Since June 27th 2013 when they laid me off from my job of 25 years....I always said they would have to invite me to leave and with the last merger of another large company that is exactly what they did....It was o.k. as a co-worker cried as I was leaving I said it's all good don't cry I'm ready to go. Bless her 20 something year old heart.

Well I did live in Tennessee for a little while.....didn't know I was that popular....lol

Guess I left a reputation behind?
Boy did you ever! We have most of the damage repaired on the main streets of most of the towns, but almost all the backroads are still the way you left them.

Good morning everyone.

Funny you should post these words from a great ole' classic. I was listening to another old favorite of mine from them while browsing this thread just now (true story :) ) Every now and then I'll apply the lyrics from a secular song (or love song) and treasure our Lord in my heart ... inserting Him in the songs meaning. Case in point ... the last two verses of the following song. A simple but deeply beautiful song indeed :)

And so you see I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is You

And as I watch the drops of rain
Weave their weary paths and die
I know that I am like the rain
There but for the grace of You, go I

West Coast girl just checking in this morning! Waiting for my pain meds, etc to kick in.

Not a coffee drinker here. Herbal tea only! If I have one cup of coffee in the morning, I will be up all night. Hubby drinks coffee for both of us.

I actually call coffee the "Christian addiction." It is so acceptable and expected!

It is my understanding that nicotine is an unacceptable Christian addiction. Yes, a caffeine addiction is considered an acceptable Christian addiction.

i'm not sure if you meant to tie those thoughts together?

i grew up in a racing town, so if you did we have to say women in hats.
at the track, with the wealthy ladies, it's all about the hats. heh
