Working on Sundays

Is this an issue? I have an interview tomorrow that's going to require working on Sundays. I've been searching one for months on end due to the one I currently have only has me on once a week. My student loans are in the process of going into forbearance and my paychecks go to groceries. Can't save and move out because of it. Anyway I was wondering if it goes against Scripture, as I've always been under the belief that if every single person had Sundays off, places like hospitals, police and fire stations would be closed too, causing many people to potentially die because of it.
 
Yahweh the Creator has no trouble with people working six days a week and resting on the seventh day of the week...

Hasatan the enemy has no trouble with people working 2nd through 6th day and sabbath, then resting on the 1st day of the week. (historically recorded for all to see and verify).

so it depends on who you gonna serve .....
 
Jeff I'm kinda curious but what if something tragic happens on that day that requires you to call the fire department or go to the hospital. It's because of you they have to work on that day, since they have to help you. Are you still condemning them?
 
wrong question. where does "still" come from ? are you condemning someone in your ignorance ?
 
That's a wrong question. No where have I condemned anyone for anything. I was hoping to find answers from Christians. And my question is valid because, in all honesty, you never can control what happens if you're on the road. So again. Would you have a problem with an officer assisting you or a loved one on a Sunday if something happened?
 
Luke 14 King James Version (KJV)

14 And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.
2 And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.
3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
4 And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;
5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?
6 And they could not answer him again to these things.

So we see here Jesus had no issue with working on the sabbath if it was necessary nor could his opposition answer him.

It is a commandment of God to remember to keep holy the Sabbath. Sunday is not the Sabbath. There is no scriptural conflict. Even then, God understands the need for those who must work on Saturday or the Sabbath. Even Jesus did healing on the Sabbath and He is God.

but, simply, no where does God forbid doing what is required to save a life on His Sabbath.

His people have suffered the loss of all things for not being willing to lie, to murder, to eat pork, or to break the Sabbath.... and the whole world carries on as if nothing has happened,

never even thinking of turning to God and stopping serving (worshiping) demons... (Revelation, et al)...

His people will save a life, will take care of a life, when no one else will or is willing even.

It's probably just me, but not really sure what you're saying after the first section.
 
Yahshua did the work of the Father - everything the Father did and said to do, Yahshua did. Nothing else.
 
The sabbath is the 7th day following 6 days of work, not a particular day of the week; You shall work six days, but on the seventh day you shall rest (Exodus 34:21). The purpose is to allot a time of rest to our schedule. This is why Jesus said "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." If you have to work on a Sunday, just leave some time off another day.
 
Saturday is the Jewish Sabbath, not Sunday.

the purpose of the Sabbath ordinance was to teach men to devote at least one day to God, to honoring Him, to 'ceasing from your own labors' and resting, as He rested after creating the heavens and the earth.

it's very much debatable whether we as Christians saved by grace, not by law, are under commandment to follow strict Jewish Sabbath laws.

all that said, i think it is not good for either your body or your spirit to work 7 days a week. if the work God blesses you with the opportunity to do requires you to work on Sunday, i don't think you sin by working on Sunday - the thing is that if you will miss the typical American regular-church-meeting time because of it, you ought to find another time to congregate with other believers for worship and study. and the other thing, of course, is that you should still have at least one day off per week so your body can rest and you can spend time seeking and communing with God.

Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath - as Jesus said :)

if it bothers your conscience, it's sin for you, so you shouldn't do it - but i don't see why it reasonably should bother your conscience as long as you have another day off, and it won't completely prevent you from some kind of 'church' during the week.

I won't know more til tomorrow. But I was told need someone from 8-1 on Saturdays and Sundays. Judging by that, that's only 10 hours. I'm only working one day a week, so right now I have 6 days off. If it wasn't for my step dad and mom even, I'd be out on the streets right now.
 
Some jobs are necessary 24/7 such as those in healthcare etc.

However, I currently work on Sundays and its really affected my walk with God as it has taken away my church time which I greatly enjoy. I am searching for a new job that doesn't require working on Sundays.

I'd go on an individual basis on that since we're all unique but I personally would like to start back up at church again. My job isn't quite so urgent as say, a firefighter's. :)
