Not vacationing on Alberta, living there. Not high on the tourist destination list, except for maybe Banff, Jasper and the West Edmonton Mall. (And the Calgary Stampede, but I am from Edmonton, so not to mention that!)
As far as Narnia, I thought everyone with a bit of imagination and a wardrobe had been to Narnia? I think I must have read those books at least 30 times, including 3 times out loud to my kids when they were growing up. That's a lot of reading!
You mean you haven't been to Alberta?? Surely you have heard of the tar sands? They are a favourite target of climate change Hollywood Stars. I've been to Hollywood, too! Quaint little place in California!

Actually, went to Sarnia for a week-end many years ago but that was in Ontario across the Blue Water bridge at Port Huron, Michigan. I've been to Windsor quite a few times across the river from Detroit.
Been to Maine, my son played hockey in Portland for 4 or 5 years. So that answers the hockey question. Rinks were a big deal in our lives. 2 boys played high levels of hockey, right up to pro and University hockey. (Lots of winning rings between the two of them)
Daughter was a figure skater, competed provincially then coached for quite a few years to put herself through university.

Well, I know they mean the same thing. I am happy to be a nerd and in fact when I was in High School I was in band so, I was happy being a 'band geek'. Now I enjoy accounting, so that definitely makes me a total nerd. It makes me so happy when everything balances each other. What can I say I am weird and proud of it.

most people compare/contrast liking sci-fi, school, particular parts of school (i.e. math and science),
reading certain types of books, etc.
and all i want is a definition! lol
my SIL has a doctorate in engineering, and he's so stinking cute!
he was telling me a story of his early years in college and how much he enjoyed it.
then he sighed and said, i was such a geek then.
so i had to say........then???

lol in high school, i was in the advanced classes. played the violin in orchestra. went to summer school to get some classes out of the way so i could take some OTHER classes during the school year. i think the only B on my high school transcript was in biology. and i graduated at the top of my class.
