In my Sunday school class yesterday, for some reason, the guys starting talking about a Popeye's and KFC in heaven. In the mist of the discussion I asked the class, " So you don't think we'll be vegetarians in heaven?"

Based on the Bible mankind didn't eat meat in the beginning. Death was one of the results of sin. Yet after the Flood God gives permission for mankind to eat animals.

I'm just really curious on what everyone thinks about if we will or will not eat meat in heaven? And why?

I sure hope that there is meat. Maybe the meat can be grown in a garden rather than slaughtering animals. Various types of fish would be a good thing too. Being a vegetarian would be boring and the food bland.

I don't think we will need food in heaven. Our heavenly bodies won't need food to sustain them.

I'm with tourist.
I hope they'll grow meat in a garden.....along with a large fry and a Coke.

.....if God never intended us to eat cows, He wouldn't have made them out of burgers and steaks.

Honestly--- I think all will be different....right down to our eating habits.
Just a guess though.

I'm with ladybug on this one. I believe we will be sustained on the Word of God or true manna from Heaven.
The manna in the desert was picture language for the Word of God coming from Heaven.

P.S. (before someone attacks me, to emphasise that of course the manna event did really happen, but I'm saying it was to signify and foretell something else that was to come)

But it it could be a novelty, to "eat food" and enjoy the taste, even if it's not necessary. I'm sure we'll all laugh and think about what we thought tasted good on earth compared to heavenly food!

....to unleash a whole new bottle of witty, clever, charming and somewhat smug posts, on the unsuspecting masses. :)
Just like mine. (well, the "smug" part.)

I personally have missed you maxwell, brother.
What up?

BTW, Bacon Trees are a good idea..... Would they grow burgers as leaves?
Then I'm in.

The New Heaven and New Earth will contain the best of both worlds. It'll be the perfect bleeding through of the physical and spiritual atmospheres.

As such, we won't be disembodied spirits floating on clouds and playing harps, but worshipping God in physical, glorified new bodies in very tangible ways with the gifts He's given us (eg. doing art, building, creating technologies, music, dance). Also, we won't need to eat, but I believe we'll be able to eat, maybe even meat in some form.

I highly recommend the non-fiction book on heaven called "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn. It's brilliant and biblically sound. And it looks at everything in the Bible concerning eternity with Jesus and shows that, if you're in Christ, you've already begun that journey.

Here. This is the best and closest answer to how I see it being.

Although, I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around not being able to get a #4 from McDonald's (Super Sized)... in Heaven. :(

I'm guessing it would all been free too.....plus free refills?

Bummer.

It says that we will not hunger or thirst anymore, I am more of a platonist who prefers the eternal playing of harps because in heaven it would be pain free and fun.

Revelation 22:
1Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, 2in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Looks like a new fruit every month from one Tree of Life....that is very interesting....

I fail to believe god would not allow us to have pepperoni on our pizza in heaven. That just sounds cruel.

No food in Heaven - only the spiritual kind 1 Corinthians 6:13 13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Would you please put that verse into context and not rip it out of the context

1 Corinthians 6

[SUP]12 [/SUP]“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything. [SUP]13[/SUP]You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. [SUP]14 [/SUP]By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. [SUP]15 [/SUP]Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! [SUP]16 [/SUP]Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”
[SUP][b][/SUP] [SUP]17 [/SUP]But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.[SUP][c][/SUP]
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; [SUP]20 [/SUP]you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Paul does not write that God said that, but that the Corinthians were saying that.
