Thank you for that post DiscipleDave! I strongly agree with you! Because when I think of ANY past sin, that I ever committed, NO sin whatsoever had MORE power over me to stop it....if I wanted to!

2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

I have, through repentance and faith. I have victory over sin, the world and the devil via the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ.

Modern Christianity generally rejects the notion of "having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." They simply don't teach it. There is no concept of the Christian having crucified the flesh with passions and desires where the following no longer takes place...

Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Who receives the crown of life?

Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Who receives eternal life?

Rom 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
Rom 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
Rom 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

Those whom obey unrighteousness receive wrath. The wrath of God abides on the children of disobedience.

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Which is why we are to flee disobedience unto unrighteousness and instead obey unto righteousness.

Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Very simple stuff which very many oppose because they want a teaching which gives them comfort whilst they keep on sinning.

Nope! The promise is for when we see Christ face to face!

"Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is." 1 John 3:2

"For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known." 1 Cor. 13:12

"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." 2 Cor. 3:18

The way salvation works is:

justification -> sanctification -> glorification

Glorification is when we see Jesus face to face - when he returns! That is when we won't be tempted, won't sin and we will be with Christ forever!

lol, not one of those verses says that we can't cease from sin in this life. The entire Bible teaches us that we can become sinless with the help of Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. calling those who can't cease from sin cursed children.
When Christ Returns, we receive our Glorified bodies, That like Jesus and the Angels. Scriptures teach over and over again things like "Awake to righteousness and sin not" Why would it teach that if it were not possible in this life, NOW? Jesus Himself told a man and a woman to "Go and sin no more" IN THIS LIFE He told them that. And everyone is quick to point out that He told that to the woman who committed adultery, and therefore was only telling her to not commit adultery any more. But look how silent these same people are on the same statement said to the man who was lame for 38 years, and Jesus said to him "Go and sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you" wander if that man sinned again. 38 years being lame sitting there at the pool waiting, for 38 years, then all of a sudden he is healed, and Jesus tells him "Go and sin no more, lest a worse thing happen unto you" i doubt very much he committed another sin, because one more sin, he would go back to a worse condition than he was before. This very situation should reveal to this generation the seriousness of committing sin is to Jesus. No not this generation, this generation sins on a daily basis, not thinking it is possible to cease from it, cursed children the Bible calls those who can't cease from sin, reprobate minds think it is not possible to cease from sin. Yet when i ask who answers this question "What sin do you do, that you think you can't cease from?"

If then there is NO sin that you do that you can't cease from, then the question is, why are you continuing to commit a sin that you CAN cease from? There is NO temptation that is so strong that you can't handle it, and also with EVERY temptation that comes upon you, Jesus Christ allows a path out of that temptation. So what sin do you do that you can't possibly cease from?

Yes Dave....that is true! Only Jesus was sin free. But I wonder sometimes,...how I know temptations will always be there. I may not act upon the temptation. But it will be there. I suppose the best way I refrain from temptation...is I deeply pray, God...please help me! I want to be more to You than this.
This is the best way that I become strong. Rather it be painting, quilting, study scripture, write poetry....I try to replace temptations of sin with something beautiful and productive! It seems to be doing a lot of good now. I pray I continue to please Christ even more, with every beat of my living heart. God Bless you all

Doesn't matter. Everyone sins with or without Jesus. One's covered, the other isn't.

Covered by what?

I JOHN 1:7 But IF (CONDITIONAL) we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

IF you walk in the light, then and only then is your sin cleansed by the Blood of Jesus, but if you walk in darkness you are NOT walking in the light. If you knowingly and willingly commit sin, how is that NOT DARKNESS? You are choosing to obey Jesus Christ enemy the devil and commit sin, how is that not darkness?
How can someone claim to be in the light all the while walking in darkness, living in sin, backsliding, and the such? They can't What fellowship hath light with darkness? NONE. One who walks in the light, will not do that which is wicked, evil, sinful, DARKNESS. Jesus is the light, satan is the darkness. Do you claim to be in the light, yet willingly obey satan when you are tempted to commit sin? Know you not that to whom you obey is your Master says the Word of God? If then you obey satan when he tempts you, who is your master according to the Word of God? Hearken to the Truth, Those who can't cease from sinning are cursed children, Do you know why they are cursed, because as long as they believe it is not possible, they will never try or attain it. ONLY those who think it is possible (with the help of Jesus and the Holy Spirit) will ever attain it. The narrow and difficult path that leads to life everlasting is the path that i have just revealed to you, it is NOT easy, it is very difficult, but if you keep your eyes and your thoughts on Jesus Christ 100% then you will not be giving your thoughts to satan and committing sins. i do all things to please my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He gave His life for me, i have given Him my life as well, i do not live to please myself, i live to please Him and only Him. i do not obey His enemy.

Tell me, if you love someone, and that someone claims to love you, how would you feel if that same someone obeyed your sworn enemy, all the while you are asking that person not to, yet they do it anyways? Be honest in your answer. Jesus loves me, why on Earth would i willingly obey His enemy? Why? And if i did so, i am SELFISH, thinking of only self and not Jesus Christ who i claim to serve and obey. i LOVE Jesus, i hate the devil, i only obey Jesus, i do not obey the devil, i keep my eyes and thoughts on Jesus Christ 100% of EVERY single day, if i can do it, so can you, so can all those who Truly LOVE Jesus Christ. It is possible, i do it, so can you.

1Co_15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
1Jn 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
1Jn 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Heb 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

And those verses are but a fraction of the Verses which the Inspired Word of God teaches against sinning.
Go and Sin No More

Thank you Skinski7 for your post! " _Victory Over Sin!"....how I love those three words. Music to a songwriters ears! I have come so far! I am not never giving up....or giving in! Thank you so much,... how all this...gives such strength and encouragement to my soul!

Neither deceive yourself into thinking you have reached perfection,
nor make excuse for sin by your lack of perfection.

The perfection has not yet come, but will soon.
He has not left us without help, but has left us the Spirit and the power of God to overcome sin.

Do not accept sin as being acceptable.

Perfection and sinless are two different things. Lets say i have not sinned for over a year, am i therefore perfected? NO. As long as we are in this body in this flesh made from Earth, we are not perfected. i may be HOLY, Pure, Righteous, Unblameable, not living in sin at all, and even living perfect, does not mean i have reached perfection. Perfection of that type is to be in our Glorified bodies. Right now even though i live Righteous, Holy, Pure, and living perfectly in the Will of the Father. Does not mean i do not desire to sin, does not mean i am not tempted to commit sin. My flesh desires to sin, it is evil, wicked and as filthy rags. it is because of the Earth flesh that we have, that we are not perfected. i still hunger, i still thirst, i still feel pain, i still feel sorry, i still feel sickness. Because of these things we are not perfected. This however does not mean we can't live without sinning. The Apostle Paul said we are to put off the deeds of the flesh, to mortify the deeds of the flesh. He taught that the flesh serves sin and his mind serves God. So even though the flesh serves sin and desires to sin, if your mind serves God your mind controls what your flesh does. my point is my flesh is wicked, evil, filthy rags, corrupt, but my mind serves God 100% therefore i do not obey my wicked flesh, i do not sin against God to serve my flesh, to commit sin against Jesus Christ. my mind controls what my flesh does in regard to sinning. For example, my flesh desires to look at porn, but my mind serves Jesus Christ. i keep my mind on Jesus Christ and let my flesh continue to desire to look at porn. i will not look at porn ever, even though my flesh desires to do so. my flesh will not win over whom i serve, Jesus Christ. my flesh desires to look at porn, i fight it with every fiber in my body, i will pray to Jesus, i will read the Bible, i will get on this message board instead, i will do whatever it takes NOT to sin against my Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. If i can do it, so can you. But in order to do it, you need to learn to HATE sin.

no it's not.. we are not perfect, and will never reach perfection..and we still sin, even after being saved..

Please do not speak for us all. You continue to obey satan and commit sins against Jesus Christ after you got Saved, don't say we all do that, it is not True.

1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1Jn 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
1Jn 5:19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
1Jn 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
1Jn 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Joh 8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Have you become sinless?

You ask a question that if i answered honestly, you would not believe.

i do all things to please Jesus Christ. Jesus in me, gives me the Strength and Power against EVERY temptation that the devil throws at me. When i am tempted, i look to Jesus to help me, and He does help me.
Your NOT sinless? What sin do you do that you can't cease from my friend? Please tell us why your not?

The only one to walk this earth and live a completely sinless life was Jesus Christ.Unless you're Him,you're not perfect.

Thank you for that post DiscipleDave! I strongly agree with you! Because when I think of ANY past sin, that I ever committed, NO sin whatsoever had MORE power over me to stop it....if I wanted to!

Sister Skylove7, it is not in me to do that, it is Jesus in me that allows me to do that. Also i want to say, you are not far from the Kingdom of God Sister, i do not say that because what you say about me, that is irrelevant. Why i say that is because if you agree with those things on the website, then you agree with Him who told me those things, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ, If then you believe Him which told me those things, than you are not far from the Kingdom of God, Because only the True sheep recognizes the Shepherds voice. And you asked the Lord to Bless me, i tell you the Truth you have done so in your post, Because it Blesses my heart that maybe one out of thousand people rejoices because the Truth is being taught in a generation that will flat out refuse it when they see or hear it. In that you are please with the Truth that the website reveals blesses me Truly.
Love you Sister.

Jesus is the only one who has never committed a sin. Even if i never committed another sin until i am dead, i still can't say that i was perfect like Jesus Christ, because I HAVE sinned plenty. You teach it is not possible to NOW live like Jesus Christ did, But Scriptures teaches differently then you, does it not "Awake to righteousness and sin not" and hundreds of other verses which teach the same thing, if you are going to see you want to see those verses then you can read this article Sin No More

Then why did Christ die to cover our sins? If we could be sinless we didnt need a Savoir to die.

We all fall short of the Glory of God. Ladybug is right we still fail at times,we're not perfect. We strive to be perfect but we still sin.If we could live sinless perfect lives we wouldnt need the blood of Christ. And your comment was uncalled for.JMO.

For all HAVE sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. it does NOT say as this generation likes to believe it says "For all WILL sin and fall short of the Glory of God.
You say "If we could live sinless perfect lives we wouldnt need the blood of Christ.". i could not do what i do without Jesus Christ. How do you think i can walk in the light as Jesus did if not for Jesus Himself living in me. It is Jesus in me, that gives me the Strength and Power to overcome EVERY temptation, i could not do it without Jesus. And the about His Blood, The Scriptures are clear, that His Blood cleanseth those who are walking in the light, NOT those who walk in darkness.
You say "And your comment was uncalled for.JMO." i have every right, as a Christian, to say something that includes all Christians. A Christian can get on this thread and say "We Christians wear only dresses and not pants" Every Christian has a right to say something about that if they do not agree that ALL Christians do that. Even yourself said "Ladybug is right WE still fail at times,WE're not perfect." Are you speaking for ALL Christians? Now if you wanted to speak for yourself then fine, but don't include me in what you THINK is the Truth. Do you believe Scriptures or not?

James 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Can a person abide in the Word of God perfectly? Can a person control his whole body perfectly? Scriptures teach YES they can, and i testify that it is True, because i do it. So don't include me in your statements speaking for ALL Christians, when you say things like, WE all will sin, WE all will fail. It simply is not the Truth. Now what may be True, is that you fail, and you believe that because you fail that EVERYONE else must fail as well, or believe that it is normal to FAIL. my point is, i believe i have every right to say something when somebody make a blanket (covers all Christians) statement, especially if it is not True. IMO.

You said "You continue to obey satan and commit sins against Jesus Christ" that was uncalled for.If you are telling me that you are I perfect Christian and never sin then no I dont believe you.None of the disciples were perfect, they still sinned,Job sinned,Moses sinned,John the Baptist doubted Jesus was who he said he was,so he too sinned.David called a "man after Gods own heart" sinned. So you are more perfect then all of these?
