In my Sunday school class yesterday, for some reason, the guys starting talking about a Popeye's and KFC in heaven. In the mist of the discussion I asked the class, " So you don't think we'll be vegetarians in heaven?"

Based on the Bible mankind didn't eat meat in the beginning. Death was one of the results of sin. Yet after the Flood God gives permission for mankind to eat animals.

I'm just really curious on what everyone thinks about if we will or will not eat meat in heaven? And why?
there's no death (and no sorrow nor grief btw either) in the new heaven and new earth. it is written, and cannot be changed.

yes, the creator of all things is a very just and strict judge. he is called a consuming fire (everyone and everything wicked and evil is burned up soon) ,
completely righteous without any sin,

thus he will never go against his own word and his own rules.

I fail to believe god would not allow us to have pepperoni on our pizza in heaven. That just sounds cruel.

remember in heaven there is nothing at all allowed that pollutes. nothing. that means no
fast food nor soft drinks.

Here. This is the best and closest answer to how I see it being.

Although, I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around not being able to get a #4 from McDonald's (Super Sized)... in Heaven. :(

I'm guessing it would all been free too.....plus free refills?

Bummer.

The things which can be seen on this earth (literally all) are the mere image of spiritual matters. The teaching of meat in the bible has a specific meaning in both law and words of the prophets. The nature of this teaching concerning animals does not change. Example; After all this time, you have not grown out of eating food given for children? The nature of this also reveals someone who does not want a person to grow up; or a person who does not want to grow up in wisdom. If you choose not to eat meat, there is no law against it. But the hidden language of the bible teaches us there is a purpose in understanding this on a personal level.

Hi Jeff_56; I struggled with the concept of being consumed by fire, even though the teaching is right in front of me daily. Today I see the fire of the Holy Spirit as a blessing in this manner; That we have received the foundation of our faith in Christ Jesus, and anything we build on that foundation will be tested by fire. What remains on the foundation is considered a gift being laid up in heaven for us. But if anyone's work is consumed by this fire, it will be a loss suffered by us, but in that same breath it can be said that we will be saved by that same fire. The things the fire of the Holy Spirit consumes will not be held against us; I appreciate your reference to the law, because it is a necessary thing to teach us who we are and why we are that way in God's sight. But the gift of the Holy Spirit is found in those who are given into the hands of our Lord and King. None of us are perfect, but are being perfected in the teaching of Jesus who has given the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Lord's prayer given to each of us by Jesus, also speaks of sin in our everyday lives, and He shows us how to ask to be forgiven. I consider you to be a friend in Christ no matter how you might feel towards me; Because I know Jesus has led you away from condemnation of the law through His blood shed on the cross. Each one of us played a part in His being crucified; this evidence is against each of us, but Jesus did something that very few would willingly do; He literally gave His life into your (and my) hands and it is the sin found in our hearts and on our hands that He was crucified by. God's wrath takes on a powerful witness of a Father's love for His Son, that it would be a huge mistake to stand in front of Him empty handed. The fire spoken of concerning followers of Christ, is for the benefit of each of us because there is no doubt in anyone's mind that we are imperfect, but we are being perfected. There is a way that I express this, and maybe you have heard of it; "I have a past, but I also have a future" This is just one more way for God's people to put their hand on the plow, and do not look back. Once again I want to say to you that I consider you to be my friend; and any good thing you have to share concerning what Jesus has done in your life, I would consider a blessing.
