God is outside of time and He has declared the End from the Beginning. So He knows how every human being is going to exercise their free will. God knows those who are going to be single and God knows those who are going to be married. It's not a surprise for Him when we make certain choices. For He knows us better than we know ourselves. So while God may prefer us to make the choice to be single (As His Word says), He knows that is not always the case or right choice for every single individual. God has sometimes pre-arranged it so that people are already married when they make the choice to become a believer. Other times, God has made the choice for a believer to remain married to their unbelieving spouse based on faith. Other times, God has made the choice for some who believe by faith deep down inside that there has always been that someone special for them. A soul mate. I believe that with all my heart by faith. How do I know? Well, Scripture testifies to this fact. For one, God made Eve for Adam. Second, God played matchmaker in guiding Eliezer to find Rebekah for Issac. For this was no accident. God was guiding Eliezer and Issac was matched with his other half. God is sovereign and He is in control of all things.
For example: Imagine a bunch of balls of light at God's feet before the Lord created everything. Now say these balls of light are the souls of everyone who has ever lived. God already knows who is going to accept Him and who is going to reject Him from looking at all these lights. So the Lord can then pick up one of these balls of light and place it it into whatever time line or place as He so desires. For God had created a line of believers from Abraham to Joseph. What are the odds of that happening? What about the 144,000 jews in the end times who will accept Jesus mentioned in Revelation chapter 7?
Everyone of those balls of lights still has a free will choice to accept or reject God. The Lord is simply sovereign over all time to know what their decision was going to be and He has placed them into the timeline and place of His choosing. For as I said before, God had declared the end from the beginning (
Isaiah 46:10).
So do I believe there is a soul mate for certain people? Absolutely. My life is a testimony of such a truth indeed. For I prayed to the Lord for many years for the right person to come into my life in God's timing; And I took it by faith that there was someone out there for me. I believed it with all my heart. I also realized the importance of Jesus's words when He said,
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.", as well. Therein lies the key indeed. Anyways, if you feel there is someone out there for you, I encourage you to ask the Lord for your soul mate by prayer and believe it by faith that they will come into your life in God's timing; However, just make sure you put the Lord our God first in your life in all say and do, though. For the moment we put someone or something above God, He cannot truly honor our request by prayer because God must always come first in all things.
