pet peeve: new patient calls to make an appointment. I ask if she has insurance. she goes to say what she knows (i always verify), and goes on to say, "and what they do at my [medical doctor's office] is they bill the insurance first and then send me the bill of what i owe. if it's not a lot, they don't even bill me at all."

well, that's nice. but... this is a TOTALLY different office lol

lol i just don't like it when people tell me how other office do things. each office has a policy. for example, when people move into the city and are looking for a new chiro, they ask about prices or whatnot. once i tell them, they'll say, "well my chiropractor back at (previous city) only charged [insert amount here]."

why do people share this info? are they expecting me to change the fees? i don't understand lol

Looking back at the previous page: Yeah, a lot of people do filter in and out. I and another user were exchanging PMs about this yesterday. Some of the regulars I knew before I took a break from the site are long gone; it kind of makes of melancholy (some were people I met in person that I'd like to reconnect with).

C'est la vie.

Ive had that happen in retail.....they are like, but the other branch always marks it down for me! That may be true, that store was good about giving customers special deals. But they usually asked when it was already marked down. Thats something we would never do, because a lot of times it was a dirt cheap bargain price the way it was and we were already taking a loss just to get it out of there.

I find it odd that people don't understand that we are not in a barter economy, you can't haggle prices in a corporate/office environment unless you are trying to do business in bulk.

That would be me. I'm just now coming back around after a good while away.

I think, for the most part, I find the meeting of Christ-like-minds here when it comes to pondering the things of God. That in itself is a magnet for me. When I get a belly fully of the world, and trying to deal with family (ugh), I need a refuge away from that mess.

First was the death of my mother and then we've suffered the loss of my husband's father. These can drain a person financially as well as emotionally.

Since this warrior is a child, I drop my sword and look up for a smile. And here I am again. Like coming home.

That's right! It's MUCH healthier to spend all your free time stalking various CC users instead...

That must have been a difficult time for you (and your husband). My condolences, and I'm glad to see you back here jumping into fellowship. :)

That's nice to hear. :) It would be great if I could touch base with some past members.

I appreciate that. I'm still so tender after losing my mother. Just typing this, I had to fight the tears. But I know she's with the Lord and that brings me some peace. I found a message from her after her passing. It was in a poetry book that she always promised to give me someday. She wrote that if I found that message, then she had gone to Jesus and would be waiting for me there. It tore me up. It's been bittersweet as I reconstruct a life without her.

Losing a FIL last month was just fuel on the fire. But we found out that he was asking for the pastor to come and speak to him about the Lord a few weeks before his passing. We believe he made peace with God mainly because we know God is merciful.

Lots to learn from these sufferings.

Thanks again for your sweet message.

When I worked in Optical I heard a lot about what other office's did. It does get on your nerves. Her family doctor probably doesn't Bill her because they agree to take the co-pay from the patient, some from the insurance and if it's under a certain amount they don't bill the patient, depends on the insurance. There were some insurances I hated, like I want to jump out the window when I'd see the card, VSP was a nightmare they had this formula we had to figure out. Insurance is a nightmare.

Health insurance is evil. The customers don't even know the half of it! I know because I've worked in pharmacy. :p
