I go commando. :p (Meaning no anti-virus software...) A lot of people tout Ccleaner among their AV software, but it does not clean malware.

lol, i usually do that too, as a matter of fact this installation of win7 i've yet to put an anti virus on it. It's runs smoother without one and if or when I do get a virus i can just reinstall it, or some use backups but eh, fortunately I have an external hardrive which I store most everything on so nothing the viruses can do to me really. The main thing you can do to keep your computer clean and running smoothly is don't download from untrusted sites, check the links people, and when you are installing always choose the advanced option and uncheck any toolbars or homepages and decline any offers they might want to throw your way. Also go into google settings or what ever browser you're using and find the option where you choose where to download files everytime, that stops webpages from automatically downloading suspicious files.

If only everyone surfed the web more like you. God bless you, sir. ;)

Unsure who the tech helper is (the OP), but thanks for this thread and your assist.

Why does Chrome's memory cache fill up so quickly? Is there anything I can do to increase the memory without involving hardware?

windows 7? try searching from the start menu for cache and clicking on Manage disk space used by offline files

You are having problems because you are using chrome. ALL off Google's apps are half-baked and unfinished. Which is why I shudder when they talk about an autonomous vehicle. If they can't get their maps right after 2+ decades, what confidence can I have that their vehicle isn't going to half-baked and dangerous as well?

I've installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled Chrome a dozen times. It never has worked.

Google? They're whatever. Perhaps getting a little too big for their own good.

I like their new project to provide internet to the whole world by hot air balloons that fly for months at a time. Project Loon.

I don't know if it's called that because it involves using balloons or because it's a loony idea but even Facebook are using solar powered drones that fly for months at a time to deliver facebook to the people that dont have internet.

Imagine different ancient tribes of the world getting on facebook! lol or getting the internet and seeing things theyve never seen before. As the world becomes more connected it could be good because it might help to break down barriers when people can see that we're not all so different really at the end of the day.

wut?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apart from the obvious: Scan for viruses and delete programs you never use,<br>how do you keep a computer from being sloooooooow? (without adding RAM)

Cleaning its "empty" space with Ccleaner or Wise Disk Cleaner. The registry, sometimes, needs to be cleaned (like scaners do, too).

but it does an awesome job removing junk that gets left over after uninstalling something..

Use you check Wise Disk Cleaner, u will see CCleaner limited (this allows you to delete files like *.trash-99 or *.trash-1000 you didn´t know there were in a computer) It also allows u to do more in advance config. (but be careful) :P

Are they also not allowed satellite internet? Maybe Google should just use the orbit's power instead.

I chose Opera instead of Chrome, which uses much more from my PC limited resources. If you surely are using Ccleaner, it gives you a chance to control part of the "memory" and CPU it controls and, of course, gives you the chance to limit functions you´re not using at start ups.

Enable or disable what you think u don´t like working on, at those starts.

I did that just now but when I open Opera, and I go to where it shows me what processes are running on my computer, there's like a million different Opera processes going and that's what hogs the CPU.

I NEVER had this problem with Opera until the last couple versions that they came out with.. :(

Hmm!

each time U are using internet they could be so. Have a look on this I will not change to "save" memory on my RAMs:
