Reasons why you should never chase a guy who runs away

The right word is pursue.. That's a positive word and something men should do if God puts that woman in front of him like Boaz and Ruth. A woman pursuing a man always leads to disaster one way or another and in staying on topic, let the man go if he wants gone.
 
Whenever I see birds I don´t know what the other is doing but, the place one of those mates goes, she seems to be following him.

Before "he" runs, she probably had time to ask WHY he is running away. At taking some breath I bet any had the time to ask "Why are you tagged alone"? :P

Not a personal attack but: Boaz and Ruth? Yeah here's how that one played out:

Mama in law says to Ruth: I need to find you someone to provide for you. Boaz is a relative and he's let you glean in his fields all through harvest. Tonight he'll be out threshing the grain. Wait until he goes to bed at the threshing floor, then sneak up and crawl in at the foot of his bed.

So Boaz wakes up in the middle of the night with this young woman in his bed and she basically asks him to propose to her because it is his duty. And he agrees to arrange the necessary legal stuff to marry her.

Yeah, that's really a great example of the man pursuing the woman. (Do I need my sarcasm sign here?)

Actually come to think of it, though there are verses that talk about a man's volition in choosing a wife and selecting her and whatnot, I can't think of any good Bible story examples of where that happened. Maybe Jacob working for 7 years for Rachel (well 14 after he got duped), that might make a woman feel valued. Ok guys, if you want to pursue me you have to work for my dad for 7 years before you can marry me :P I'm committed to this whole biblical relationships thing no matter how crazy it seems.

Excellent example! Put it out there and see how he reacts.

My mother used to say, "Let a man chase you until you catch him".

If you like a guy, let yourself be known in different ways. He'll see the green lights. If not, it probably wasn't meant to be.

But a woman chasing a man appears desperate and clingy. No man is attracted to that.
 
Do not chase guys period! I saw a post from another user on here and she said something like this. The guy needs to chase the woman as if she has his heart and needs it to survive. Otherwise, he isn't that into her and if he's not that into her, eventually he will leave. Now do women really want to chase a guy who keeps running away? It's just a heartbreak waiting to happen.

I disagree. Why should we chase women? I hardly have any physical activity these days. Running behind a woman for even a mile/km would leave me panting and out of breath. Why should I chase her? Why can't women have a toll-free number which we can dial and prebook them? :rolleyes:
 
Hi guys....Guess what...the guy who ran away came back. It turned out he was so frustrated with me being hard to get and I kind of bruised his ego and maybe he wanted to be chased but I did not do anything because I was pissed by his running away. So I decided to give him a chance and been dating for a month now. But he is an unbeliever so I am pleading for your prayers that the Holy Spirit will move his heart and lead him into following Jesus. Thank you for all your words of wisdom and compassion. God bless you all.

Chasing a mate, regardless of gender one way or the other can easily involve one who desires and one who doesn't. Depending on the chaser's gender, it can make the chaser look desperate and get (him) a bad rap, or if (she) chases, it can make her seem "easy" to some people. Either way, it just doesn't work very well.

I resorted to this recently, and can tell you it is a very bad idea. (laughing my tush off!)
 
I say its alright to chase a guy who runs away you just have to injure him first.

Agreed, chasing shows some emotional warning sides for both parties involved.

For the one doing the chasing, why don't they feel complete enough to the point that they have some compulsion to actively find someone else to complete them. For the one being chased, why in the heck do they need to feel chased - are they not fulfilled enough in their lives that seeing someone else desperately vie for their affections makes them feel better about themselves?
 
I think chasing after each other is a better way to go that way it is both people involved and it could be a lot of fun with flirtatious banter back and forth

I don't know that I'd call that chasing.

Chasing usually implies that there is a lot of work on one side of the table, but at best a passive response on the other side (or worse, a negative response).

What you describe just sounds like dating.

I think I am more thinking of before courtship. I was just giving a different spin on it to say that there are ways of going about it and the thrill that comes with it.
