I've been on a psychological thriller binge for the last week or so. Before that, I read the entire Divergent series in less than three days, and I think that Could have been a really good story (albeit written for teens), but it fell really flat for me in the last book. So, this past week- Gillian Flynn books; Gone Girl, Sharp Objects, Dark Places. Watched the movie of Gone Girl and was fairly disappointed, but then, it's hard to translate that kind of writing into film and Not leave out much of what makes the story captivating. Anyway, this morning, onto a book called The Girl on the Train...memorization of the author's name to follow only if the book turns out to be good.

I should stop devouring books. It's getting expensive. Maybe I'll plant flowers today instead.
There are these wonderful places called libraries. They let you come in and borrow their books, and as long as you bring the books back in time, it's free. And best of all you don't even have to find storage space in your house for all those books you want to read because the library will keep them for you. This is the best way I know of to mitigate the expense of a serious book habit.

Oh! There's a library not even a full block from my house! And...um...I've not gone to it even once in over four years of living here. I should do that :D

I love the library, I'm there at least once a week. Free is good.

I visit the library most weeks too. I rarely borrows books from there though (but only because I have 50 or more books on my beside table to read). The dangers of being a bookworm.

Why do people think so firmly inside the box sometimes? It seems like an outsider sometimes has the best perspective, because they aren't so concerned with following the established "rules" (which are often nothing more than an illusion).

And I still have an incident from last Spring or Summer very heavily on my mind, where two little brown birds were able to appreciate something that I've had such a hard time with. I haven't forgotten those little birds. I have things to learn from them. And I've saved some stuff for them in a paper bag all Winter. :)

A little drama at the end of my work day:

One of the developmentally disabled participants left his backpack in the car of the support staff. Big deal, right? Wrong! This family makes a big issue out of everything. Mistakes such as these are intentional in their book, and the details are prone to exaggeration and hyperbole. So this family member got very upset with this and called my boss demanding that the worker drive back and deliver it. The guy lives over an hour away, so that wasn't going to happen, but takes an inventory of the items - nothing the guy can't live without over the weekend. My boss calls me in to his office and explains the situation to me, knowing that I have a knack for getting this unreasonable family member to cooperate.

Since lunch packing items were in the backpack, I suggested that our company buy a somewhat healthy lunch at a local sandwich/salad and a cup of coffee for him in the morning (his travel mug was also among the contents). Boss liked the idea, but then there was a pregnant pause in his office...

"You want me to make the call, don't you?"

"I'm so glad you offered, Steve!"

I made the call. Satisfied family member...Happy boss...My title of "The Crazy Whisperer" remains intact.

You can keep the title. I'll be content to remain the cat and dog whisperer.

Same, Lynx.

Well, I think I'm officially sick. I'm not surprised, I haven't had much energy this past week. It wasn't bad but I just felt sluggish. And, this is a really weird one, a forewarning that I might be coming down with something is I'll get some acne on my neck and behind my ear, and I got a little bit of that. Not much, but just enough to notice it. I should have listened and taken some immune boosters. -_-

That awkward moment where you have to use the bathroom at work and you go up to the bathroom door and you expect it to open so you forcefully turn the doorknob and you see that it is in use so you mumble somewhat audibly "looks like someone's in there, hmm." as if it were a mystery.
And then you hide from view and wait until the door opens and it turns out its the guy you actually do have a crush on at work.
HAHAHA.

I always have these experiences with this guy and the bathroom I don't get it.

Survived practice somehow. Now it's definitely time to sleep.
Praise band practice?

I, too, survived rehearsal. A bunch of Lutherans were trying to sing something with a lot of syncopation. Their attempts were cute.

Yuppers :) Trying to practice when you can't breathe through your nose very well is quite tiring. But I learned a new song today, and it's simple, yet very beautiful.

I've been finding myself at the church a lot more often on the weekends. Lots of all day events and last night we had our night of worship. Only 10-12 people showed up. I was sorta saddened, but I had a great time.

And people trying to sing something with a lot of syncopation...oh my. That sounds like it was a lot of fun to listen in on. :p I would have loved to have seen that, lol.

I planned on going to a concert tonight. I hadn't bought a ticket, but I was planning to today. But then when I woke up today, I knew I wasn't going to do anything more than what I had to do. I'm miserable, and I don't need to spread this around. While I wash my hands all the time and make sure I don't get in people's faces...a concert would just be a breeding ground for whatever I have. -_- So I have a date with Lord of the Rings extended edition and my couch. And goat-milk cappuccino ice cream. Could be worse.
