Seriously though its easier to find stuff when you know what color your looking for when you know which things are in what color. As you flip through you might stop at all the yellows, or the purples, or whichever other color, then the side writing to its connecting verses in other books makes it easier to find them when you highlight those in the color you are to look for.

my bad, i thought what you meant was ((as you said, the important thing)) that it was for God that we should be diligent. no translation i found was written with the sense that our care should be taken for the sake of anyone but for God.

is exactly the same word "σπούδασον" that in 2 Timothy 2:15 the KJV renders "study" as in 2 Timothy 4:9, 2 Timothy 4:21, and Titus 3:12 -- where the KJV calls it "do thy diligence" and various others use phrases like "hasten" or "make every effort" or "do your best."

the context isn't academic study. ironically, the immediate context is warnings not to engage in meaningless quarrels over words (lol!) and irreverent going-on that does no good but only leads to ruin. it's in this that Timothy ought to be diligent to remind the believers of, and to keep himself from, so that he may be found unashamed before God.

This is how I understand it. Luke writes this letter to some folks -- a brief history of Christianity. It's a cool letter, but you can't really pass one letter around to hundreds of different people, so scribes copied it. They start to circulate, but there still isn't enough to go around, so scribes copy those. This goes on and on until the Gutenberg Press, where it becomes possible to get it right once and keep using the same press (and then other presses) to make enough available copies for everyone who wants a copy.
Luke died in the first century. The Gutenberg Press didn't show up until the 15th century. Luke's original disintegrated somewhere along the line. The copies of that original disintegrated somewhere along the line. Amazingly, some old copies were still around for hundreds, and then thousands of years. (There is still a small shred of one of John's letters copied from somewhere in the second century still around. It's the oldest NT copy we have. That's pretty amazing, even though it's not John's original.)
Have you ever hand copied, or even typed someone else's writing? Did you get it exactly right? Which did you do, add or subtract from it? It's very hard not to do one or the other, isn't it? In my mind, I think it's amazing that that many scribes had at it, and it's still -- almost -- verbatim. On a rare occasion, there's an extra line (or did someone add that?) added or something deleted. After 2000 years, it kind of hard to tell. But there are still Biblical scholars who check out the oldest MSS we have of all those books in the Bible to try to present the most accurate account they can muster.
So, yeah, maybe there is a line added or missed. Honestly? I'm too lazy to do all the background legwork required to figure out which way it goes. (I knew the guy who translated the book of Jude and a couple of Psalms for the NIV. It took him close to 50 years to do that, and, in case you forgot, Jude is only one page long. There's a LOT of legwork required. He looked up a lot of the oldest MSS available online, but he also traveled to different countries that own that fragment, because some historians won't photocopy for fear of damaging the piece. It's that difficult.) So, I just go with they did the best they could, and God did the rest. And then I stop worrying about it.
All in all, the really important stuff is still there. To me, that's miraculous in itself.

I know some guys who could. I also knew a transplanted Greek, who says he can almost understand them. I figure it's probably a bit like understanding Old English -- related, but nothing we speak today, except English professors who think it wows the ladies. lol

Afterall Philip is preaching Jesus Christ out of the book of Isaiah, identifying the man in Isaiah as Him (who died and was raised again) and who said them (just before he ascended) in Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Jesus sends them out to preach what he just told them. Philip would be speaking in accord with Jesus words in Mark,which was He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved... However, if Philip never said anything then how did the eunuch know about believing and being water baptized at all? And why bother just getting wet for the sake of getting wet in the middle of nowhere when you could get a bath later and make it count that way? Philip would have had to inform him because after Phillip preaches Jesus to him in verse 35 it says in verse 36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? He apparently does believe what Philip preached (Jesus) and so he would like to be baptized too (believe and be baptized) and he is pushing his own baptism (where Philip joins him). Taking it out, just shows the eunuch asking of his own accord and still in accord with Jesus Christs who Phillip just preached to him. Sure doesnt really hurt anything either way. Having it in there just sort of indicates that Philip told him what Jesus said and after believing the eunuch wanted to be baptized (even by water) as he understood it and as Philip did went down with him.

No. Biblical Greek is not the same as Greek today. Yes, they are related but they are not the same. The only way you could run into a guy who actually knew Biblical Greek is to run into an apostle who traveled to the future in our time who knew Biblical Greek. It is ignorant to assume people would not be corrected by Paul today. People are relying upon a language that they do not know how to write or speak. The only way you can know what it says is in understanding it in your own language. For did the Holy Spirit speak to people in Hebrew and Greek at pentecost" Or did the Holy Spirit communicate to people in their own languages? Why do you think God cannot communicate to us in our language perfectly today? Why do you think He is powerless today to communicate like He did back then?

shalom (peace) please don't be concerned and theres really no reason for confusion; the Fathers arm is not shortened that he cannot save, he knows what you need to set your feet on the path, His spirit will guide and lead you into all truth, but you must ask, don't worry about what may or may not have been added ot left out, just pray, ask for guidance and you will get what you need, trust Him , He knows what hes doing....

I use a bible site called biblegateway.com. You can research many different translations very easily. One way of looking at all of this is realizing every Bible is merely a translation from the original text.not one translation is perfect but if you study several you can get a full picture with not too much being left out. When you feel ready to study the original language begin to pray about which words to look up individually. I'm sure,myself included but you do not know me well, that there are people that will gladly come along side you and help you learn. Pray about who they might be. Remember that no one has the corner on GodbutGod ho created allow the Universe cares very much about you, and you not being confused. He gave people the gift of teaching so do be willing to read books that will help you grow, but ask for books from people you trust. I'm sure if you posted a request for Bible study recommendations you'd get tons of stuff. Are you a member of a fellowship? If not ask someone you see the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:20) in them and get some guidance in picking one out. I was very uneducated when I first became a believer and I had to learn everything from no real Bible back ground. I am sincere and non judge metal and ore than willing to be of any help. Feel free to add me as a friend and ask me anything. Also, I agree with several overdose. First of all pray that Jesus be your guide in this. Second ask God to remove all confusion. God has not given you a spirit of confusion, but of sound mind and wisdom. I totally agree that you should be very careful on whom you listen to on line as well as websites like you tube and facebook an even Google. You were right to seek out Godly counsel on this. That was very wise. I would find a group of sincere Bible lovers that do not point you to just one translation. Remember that God is in control and Hewill I've you wisdom if you ask Him. I'm praying for you today. I hope that I helped you some. Try to spend more time in prayer and just reading your Bible rather than websites. There is so much against the Lord out there. When you've become full of the Holy Spirit more and the Bible is deep in your heart and mind you can weed through false teaching to find the good out there. All of us are still learning but there are wise people who have been close to Him and in the words or many years that He can put i. Your life to help. Just always hold everything up to the Word. God is big enough to keep His Word in tact and do not let anyone's tee you into the myths and false teachings otherwise.
A good guide for scripture is reading one proverb a day. There is 31 so you can almost read them in order.

Also be careful of people who try to teach that parts of the Bible don't matter anymore, because Jesus aid not one part of His word will ever pass away.

It's because God's Word is offensive to people and they would rather not be held accountable to it. For having one Word of God or final Word of authority in their life would mean they could not twist the Word of God to suit their own purpose.
