i don't like debating, so i stay out of it, which means i stay out of most BDF threads lol

when i was dating, the bf and i had different views on (wait for it....) the rapture. in one phone convo, he really wanted to have a "discussion" using Scripture where we both stated why believed a certain way, but i said no. why? because i knew one of us (or both) was going to leave the convo angry. he was really adamant about it, and when i get frustrated, i get really quiet. i wasn't saying anything so he got the clue that we weren't going to have that discussion lol

Can't you find the Texas statutes online? If it is a law, it should be in the statutes....
of course i can lol what's confusing me is the part of my inspection sticker. it expires in july while my registration sticker expires this month. texas wants to have 1 sticker for both things, so i'll call to ask if i need to re-do my inspection even though it expires later.

why texas gotta be changing up stuff lol

well, he, at the time a 24 yo idjit, left because she's gay.

he didn't grasp the implications of a lady pastor of a local church.
i know many folks don't see a Biblical proscription against it, and i don't wish to be argumentative...

but his dad did, and showed him in Scripture why he thinks it's wrong.
Don't know how I really see it, at this point. Might be wrong, might be right. But I do know I would need more than just someone showing me a verse they think proves something.

Very frankly, there is very little I cannot "prove" by citing some random scripture references... either way, pro OR con. And then I can usually turn right around and "prove" just the opposite to you by reading some other verse. We did this as part of our course work in school, with secular books, as well as the Bible.

No author of ANY book ever penned just a few lines for you to judge his entire book upon. Neither did God.

So, if I came to a conclusion with that small amount of examination, I would have to find my own investigative methods suspect.

The problem with that is someone taking one verse and saying it proves this or that point rather than taking ALL of what God says to see His full view point on the matter.

We can't discontinue using any presenting of Scripture altogether as support but neither can we isolate one verse, and probably taken out of content, to prove anything worth knowing or considering.

If what we say and think is true, it will align with the Word. Posting scripture is respectfully done to share with others who may not be so well versed in the Word or a reminder of what God has said to those who are.

A verse? I would need a deep discussion on the matter and that would include many verses to see ALL of what God has said. And then it would have to past the smell test while I adorn my 'discernment hat'. Yes, the whole counsel of God.

And I don't necessarily agree with the majority of Christendom that the selected "Big 66" is the whole counsel of God.

But, that's another story for another time. Many of my views would scare a lot of folks, and probably end further communication with me for most people posting here.

My eyes are killing me today. :( Yesterday was bad too. I've taken some Claritin but I still have some trouble focusing because they keep watering. Later today I should be find but the mornings are hard.

I go off and do some housework and come back after they've settled down. Then the lights start bothering me again. Ugh!!

Anyone else being bothered by pollen?
