I'm going to see if anyone here thinks they know how to end welfare for good. Give me your thoughts and I'll share mine with you.

simple. but not for here. (already done in places)(true, few places.... but it's been done)(even by non-christians, not that that will help them on judgment day of course - it won't, but they have no members on welfare.... sadly, though, they might refuse membership to some people to keep that record! )

Neither do I but there are a lot of Christians in the good old USA. I think if we stand together we can affect a change. This is something that even non Christians would back as well. It just has to start somewhere.

There was once a time where welfare was something to be digging yourself out of. Now, it's praised like a war medal....

I don't have a plan in place but I do know something else would need to be brought forward to help the less fortunate and needy, or those who can not work do to certain disabilities. The bible shows that those who have are to take care of and help those who do not, but there does need to be changes done as for like food stamps there should be monthly drug testings being done as I believe a person who can afford or does drugs does not deserve to have them. As well as given food stamps to those just because they are over weight, as I have seen this done of people getting them just because they can not work because of how much they weigh and even if they do get them it should be very little to help them in weight loss.

I am not all against a system that helps the less fortunate, but I am against the abusing of it.
I do however believe the whole system should not be done away with, or believe that another does not need to be put in place just because of those who do abuse the system. This was one of McCains down falls and Romneys as well when they ran as both wanted to get rid of these systems that help the less fortunate, but neither had anything better to replace them with. Romney even changed his beginning stance of doing away with Medicaid/Medicare toward the end of his running, but it was to late as he already shot himself in the foot with stating that to begin with and the 47% statement.

there's non-christian churches across the usa who have hundreds of members, not one on welfare.
if someone needs help, the church does what the 'Scripture' says to do.
and
all of the member work, even if it's just as a volunteer. remember the commandment says "work six days, and on the seventh day rest." not just "rest" ..... and not "for filthy lucre". people tend never to think of that
because
the world is evil, and most churches don't even get saved out of the world's power.

if anyone wants to be free of welfare, they simply can turn to yahweh the creator and ask him what to do,

and trust and rely on him. hint: he has already given in HIS WORD the directions. look it up. unbelievers have, and have done well following his directions.

believers are stupid too often. they think just because yahweh created everything that .... well.. he'll just go ahead and give them everything too, even if they just lay on the couch when there's a lot of work that needs done for themselves and their families and others. boy. they sure are in for the surprise of their life (or death).

in simple terms. if people refuse to work, they should not eat. (guess what. GOD SAID IT.) (yes. HE provided for those who cannot work also, for the infirm, the injured, the aged, and the sick, and the young. He took everything into account and put down the perfect plan IN HIS WORD. go read it. it will surprise you(you who don't know HIS PLAN IN HIS WORD.)

This right here does apply to those who are just completely lazy, but in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 where these words was stated was in a passage where the context was doing the work required in the faith. We are called to walk and treat others a certain way in the faith, and those who do not evangelize in the proper way do not deserve to be partakers together with others that do as it says do not have anything to do with those who walk disorderly...........

it looks to me like you missed the whole point here. judas the betrayer walked disorderly (the very worse way), but yahshua didn't point it out to the other disciples,
and while judas was with them still , even, they did not seek government assistance, but they did what yahshua said to do. and they didn't avoid judas even though he was a thief and betrayer.

i.e. how evangelists act isn't pertinent to avoiding welfare, when the ekklesia are living as GOD'S WORD directs them to.

of course, a lot of evangelists and pastors and teachers are currently robbing / fleecing the flocks that they can (see the other thread by someone ),
and they actually are creating a 'welfare' type mentality in the assemblies, which is contrary to GOD'S WORD.....

Yes it is Jak. If it doesn't change and soon it will bankrupt the USA. The solutions that are in place right now have only made the problem worse and caused more problems that make government bigger and gives them more power over us.

I think you do have a point your trying to hard to make Jeff56. If you would be kind and write so that we can better understand what your trying to say we would be grateful. Thank you for your input Jeff56

the country is already bankrupt. on purpose. and not from welfare. corporations and the rcc and other groups we won't name for now
have drained the countries resources for over 100 years in a planned 'bankruptcy'.

more is spent on the super bowl in a few days or one day, than on several states on their welfare programs all together in from 1 to 12 months. (or some sports events and like things... the money spent is staggering; and welfare is very minor compared to other expenses)...

the answer of GOD'S WORD is still true for all who do what it says, even if they're not believers! (per se)

I'm sure you right Jeff56. Welfare is a big problem but there are much bigger problems. This forum is ment to address the welfare problem not the Superbowl problem. Lol

Is there any form of welfare found in the Bible? If there was, would it be wrong to have some sort of welfare?

Deuteronomy 24:19 "When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands."

Leviticus 23:22 "When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the LORD your God."

Here God is commanding the Israelites to leave the corner of the fields uncut for the fatherless and widows. Yes, they still have to go out and work for the food but would this be some sort of welfare?

I am not saying I am for welfare or against welfare, just asking to provoke ones thinking.

"If you ever want to test a man's character, give him power." - Abraham Lincoln

Sadly the popular attitude in this day and age is to allow more government involvement into the lives of the public. You're surrendering more of your freedom by allowing it. People think that you can have it both ways, government involvement and freedom, but you can't. The more say so you give to them, the more they will tell you to do. It's one or the other.

Hello Ray_James I think what the passage (Leviticus 28:22) is that we should help those in need but not to do so at our own detriment. Help them but don't hurt yourself in doing so. The passage is also saying that they (the needy ) should have to do at least something to earn what they get. I know that this is important. I've given a lot of things away. Each time I desided I shouldn't give them any more. All of the people I have given to became my enemies. They each did something to hurt me. Violence or back stabbing. Some damaged my property. So it's been a very bad idea for me to just give anyone anything.

the superbowl problem is part and parcel with the welfare problem (society overall).

society cannot be fixed, and won't be until yahshua returns soon.

until then , believers will be killed by the rcc, the other religions and governments and anyone of the world who has the power to do so.

from what you said,
your giving was individual, from your 'mind's choice', not from the father's WORD or supply, nor from Jesus' 'body' or Jesus' choice -- you gave what you thought was right, from the mind, for the wrong reason(according to the results and the WORD; it will take some time to learn this) , and that was wrong. (yes... as Scripture says: there is a way that seems right to a man, and the end thereof is the way of death....)...

the rcc members and corporations and governments and philanthropists pour money into the coffers of the antichrist heresy, (the rcc deceived ones pay so much every day, it is unbelievable and ungodly completely)....

so the amount of money is not the issue. the woman who put her 2 coins in put in more that the rcc takes in or gives in a year. as it is written as JESUS says.

it will be painful , excruciating, (RUCIFYING THE FLESH) and also "not burdensome" (in spirit spontaneous , joyful, peaceful and fulfilling in yahshua) to learn to give as yahshua says to give, as the WORD of GOD says to give.

I'm sure you right Jeff56. Welfare is a big problem but there are much bigger problems. This forum is ment to address the welfare problem not the Superbowl problem. Lol

Jeff_56 your right about me giving the wrong way. Sorry but I do believe things can be changed. One reason I believe this comes from a saying I learned a long time ago. The only thing that is constant is change. Everything around us either gets improved or gets worse. It's true. Aply that thought to anything. Your car, your home, your bank account, any branch of the government the saying will hold up to anything even gold. Gold can not be altered but it still changes constantly. The value changes. What I would like to talk about is a way to change things for the betterment of our society. How to end welfare.

......What I would like to talk about is a way to change things for the betterment of our society. How to end welfare.

won't happen until yahshua returns. as it is written in HIS WORD.

now, if you want to give anyone yourself included a chance for keeping or for getting and keeping eternal life, read EPHESIANS or listen to it on biblegateway dot com or some other source.....

the kingdom of heaven is at hand, and most people never find it - oh, they could, but they reject it.

oh, the enemy might "end welfare" soon (deceptively; complete deception) -- offering up to 1 or 2 thousand a month for a time to anyone as an incentive to get the mark --- thus ending any chance for their soul ever to be saved..... most people will sell out for a lot less, and die forever.
