That is a great verse especially when you view it in context. We are partakers of the divine nature through Christ. We have great and precious promises through the knowledge of Christ. We have the promise of eternal life and we have escaped the penalty of sin received through the corruption of this world.

I am sorry, I don't mean to insult you, I want to clarified whether you believe that the teaching of man become God is lie or not.
And I want to clarified that Peter really said man become God. And I remind you God able to create the world, if you become God can you or Pope create the world?
Just to make you aware that catholic lie to you my brother. I am not try to insult you at all.
Peter was not of course the first pope. He would have cringed to be called Papa. He knew that it was forbidden by Jesus. The early church never had a pope. Their churches had independent bishops and deacons. There was no one in overall charge but God.
When he said that we would be made partakers of the divine nature it was not an indication that we would become divine. It rather meant that in knowing Christ intimately we would experience something of the divine. That is the wonder of our experience with Christ. Being conjoined with Him in His body, and being temples of the Holy Spirit, we have close association with the divine.

I am not wise, but in my understanding, the word partaker here, not in the sense of being Creator like God, but Peter give more information and specified in corruption trough lust.

How can you ever expect to know the Truth if you refuse to listen to what the Holy Spirit says? Or could it be you hate what the Spirit says because He shines a light on your sins?

IF the Holy Spirit Indwells in you then you have accept God! And if you have the Holy Spirit in you you have no need of the Roman Catholic Church to teach you anything!
Because all the Truth is in the Holy Spirit and nothing outside of the Holy Spirit has the Truth!

A little story. I have a relative who follows a hindu guru called Sia Baba. Now it turns out the guru is a sexual abuser of his followers, who exploits there devotion and plays simple con tricks to prove he is divine.
Now I love this relative, he is a very nice man, but it is hard not to just empathise and let him go on in his delusion. He tried to show me a picture of Jesus and the guru and flick between the two as if this got the idea across Jesus was this guru.
Similarly I have known many sincere RC's as friends and see their devotion. But it does not make it right or sane or even spiritual. I am forgiven because Jesus died for me, not because of crucifix, or an alter, or a priests forgiving my sins, or taking the eucharist. I am transformed because I know in the depths of my soul, God loves me, and I love him and he has taught me how to love, openly, honestly, fully. Nothing the RC church stands for makes any difference to this, or even proclaims on iota of this reality. But I will empathise, and try and understand why sacrements mean so much, or why a hypocritical failed priest who represents a hypocritical failed church with heresy could teach anything worthy of respect from my Lord.
But for me, in the end, at spiritual maturity it is dust in the wind, an irritant that will pass, like the night goes when the day arrives.
