What language would you like to learn if you have to learn one?

I love learning languages, I understand some Spanish, and can speak a little. I can understand some French, but I cant not speak it very well. I teaching myself sign language and arguably it is my favorite one that I am teaching myself. I looking to hopefully get certified in it. So which language would you learn if you have to?

I was learning French, Hebrew... but I don´t have electricity at home to keep that on.

Started already. Still on the Alfa-bet lessons- it is so unusual but similar on the same time. Any ideas?

I first began learning Spanish in the second grade. We were part of a pilot program that the School Board soon dropped. Para, because we live in a Cuban populated area, I guess I just picked it up, from that point, forward.

But, (in English LOL), I had a stroke three years ago. That kind of knocked much of many languages out of my immediate recall. Last year, I started an Intermediate Spanash class, however, it was soon evident that it just wasn't going to return to me as I had hoped.

So, now, I just concentrate on trying not to lose the small command I still have of my own native tongue, English.

Perhaps. I am certainly willing to help... but I know nothing of Bulgarian.

When my poor, sick computer finally comes home from the Electronics Shop (It has been there for10 days, and I am laborously typing on my Kindle E-reader right now.), I will be available to try to help. At this time, it would be too difficult for both of us.

Only one?? D:

I guess it would be something practical then... Perhaps one of the languages Scripture was originally written in. That would be a nice boon in studying the Word.

I considered that, but I threw out that idea many years ago when I first learned understanding the bible has very little to do with knowing the langueges it was written in. It is, as we see all the time, INTERPRETATION that is the important thing.

I know that Spanish would be better for me to learn in Arizona and being a Mexican person, but I would love to learn Japanese. Because I'm an otaku.

Well, I already know English. I can understand Swedish without problems (well, most of the time), and I understand some Danish (Reading it is normally OK, understanding what is said can be impossible :p). I can't speak neither Swedish nor Danish though.

I know a bit of Dutch, it is also easier to read than to understand when I hear it spoken, and although I know some basic stuff my grammar is terrible, so if I am to learn a language I guess I'd have to learn more Dutch. Some french would be useful too, but I don't think I have the patience nowdays.

Okay..I have what is called a SOUTHERN accent, full of slang, and plenty of twangy drawl. Only in America, right? I am not sure. Do other countries have "ACCENTS"? Is there such a thing as an oriental, German, or Russian SOUTHERN accent, for example? Can you tell a city Bulgarian street talker from a mountain Bulgarian resident? Do all Argentinians speak in the same vernacular, or do they have various accents? Is this only in the U.S.A, based on our personal history? SO curious....Nobody has ever been able to answer me.

Mmmm... I have been thinking that the Bulgarian street talker compares a mountain Bulgarian resident on the same way like the native Spanish compares Argentinian/Columbian speaker or Washington / California :))

But we must remember the Babylon tower after all!!!
