Let me explain something before I ask my question.

I have diabetes and am trying hard to control my eating and all that. I take insulin. When my sister and brother in law come over I'm ALWAYS reminded that I have it. I don't like it. Question I have is, is: should people remind you constantly that you have a disability/disease, or let you live life and deal with it on your own?

I would tell them that you don't find their updates of your health to be the least bit useful. Aggravating.

This belongs in the Health forum, not Miscellaneous. :) But to answer your question, if you don't like it, tell them to stop.

I think anyone who makes a person with a disability/disease uncomfortable is not being very polite. A little sensitivity goes a long way.

Perhaps they don't realize they are making you uncomfortable. Just point it out to them: "When you do X, I feel Y."

If someone can move the thread, please move it. I'll tell her.

Miscellaneous can be any topic. You're fine.

when your sister makes those comments, I'd just let her know you appreciate her concern, but you've got it under control
