Where in the Bible does it say He is cool? Is God a dude? Do you object to referring to God as a she? You seem to hold little disregard for the 66 books of the Bible and all that they show about God. He's more than common. More than cool.
You might find calling God nothing more than an average being humorous, but God is Holy. And cool is not equivalent to holy.

You win. The majority of folks side with you and laugh with you. So you are on the popular side with this. And your thoughtless response toward God while catering to those who find God common is right on. You chose the safe route.
Oh for goodness sakes come to full age. You and other like you, that are so super spiritual like this make the roof of my mouth itch. If you were everything you state you are, you would see God through Jesus and see and understand that Jesus had swag and was very cool. I mean really grow up!

Jesus started a fire and baked his disciples some breakfast, how cool would that be? Sitting around the camp fire, eating some fish with Jesus, man that would be cool.

The problem people like you have is that you try to see God as God and fail to see him through Jesus. If you want to know about God look at Jesus!!!!! Why do you think God sent Jesus!?!?!

Guys like you cannot know God, because you won't look at him through Jesus. Maybe instead of searching out God, you should encounter Jesus!

Unresponsive. Evidently you are more concerned about your own feelings and opinions than you are about the truth. Now how about putting some truth in your reply instead of your subjectivity?

A consequence and manifestation of ignorance. Look! There's little Willie. He can only LIKE. It's all about him, as well. Explains his picture.

I'll pray for the both of you. God loves you. Sorry you wouldn't answer the questions.

The truth will set you free bro. Jesus is the truth and if you want to see God, look to Jesus.

Your head is exploding because you have never seen it that way and it is quite alright, but do not sit here and tell me I am not speaking truth.

The Bible even says I can call God daddy, you know the term abba? Come to full age bro.

The burden of proof that to know God we must see him through Jesus is on you and not me. burden of proof that to know that God is cool and a dude sometimes is also on you and not me.

I have relationship and it is evident you have religion!

We all know what Jesus said about religion...It comes to steal, kill and destroy...so man up and grow up or prove me wrong.

In the Word we learn of the Great Whore, sitting on seven hills. She is the mother of whores.

If you know what is meant in the Old Testament by the term, "playing the whor," you probably know who she is and who her daughters are.

All who believe Jesus Christ are children of love, peace, patience and all other spiritual attributes, and they cannot be as described in the title of his thread.

God bless all who are truly in Jesus Christ, the family of God, amen

Some of this is truly sad. And you can pontificate about me trying to be spiritually superior all you want, but that will not make it true. Nor will it make some of what you wrote acceptable in the eyes of God.

There are more than a few here who are in serious need of learning what it means to "fear the Lord." He deserves, awe, respect, honor. He deserves to be glorified, praised, worshiped.

He does not deserve, nor will He be pleased with the "hipsterization" of Himself.

Jesus suffered and died a most horrible death. To trivialize Him, His name, His gospel is simply foolish child's play.

Our FATHER who art in heaven, HALLOWED BE THY NAME!

Some sad, truly sad comments I'm reading here. One day, some here will fully understand the phrase "weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Lighten up Francis or you will miss an encounter with Jesus that will change your life.

Stay on the path through the broad gate of religion or come back down to earth and find the narrow gate of relationship.

Jesus died, news flash ace, he rose again!!!! Why are you keeping him on the cross, he is at the right hand, not on the cross. His act of love for us was the most beautiful act anyone has ever done, and nobody is trivializing that but you, because you are a publican, looking at others and telling us how to worship and how to have "proper" relationship" with the Father.

The sooner men like you and Galahad grow up and stop trying to be worthy by your works, the sooner you will have true relationship and stop being petty, jealous and harsh to those of us who have what you secretly want.

ALso weeping and gnashing of teeth is not for those who have relationship only those who practice religion!
you can play this game wiht the young ones, but leave me out of it. Guys like you go through life miserable in oyur wlak, becasue you do evrything in your own strength and ability and not in God's grace.

For the record walking on the water and waves 10' to 13' during a major storm on a lake 13 miles long by 6 miles wide was cool! Raising a bro form the dead was frosty, opening blind eyes was rad, making the lame walk again was far out, calling religion out was whoa man! and destroying the works of the devil is groovy!

I was once like you, always being super spiritual, and telling folks how they ought to act, but the truth came into my life and the truth set me free and who the sons sets free is free indeed.

I asked God once what his favorite colors were and the clouds parted one evening and I saw one of the most beautiful sunsets I ever encountered. I asked God what he smelled like once and walked right by some Azaleas in full bloom. I have laughed, cried and supped with abba daddy, I a fear him and give him the reverence he desires, but it was never about how much I loved him, because he loved me first and desires to have fellowship with me and that is something you and Galahad miss and will continue to miss until you encounter the extreme truth!

Jesus said.....I am the way, the TRUTH, and the Life.

I think its a generational thing. I was taught that certain words were disrespectful to elders. Like you wouldnt call the Queen cool or a president. Its a matter of respect. I was even taught you dont lay another book on top of the Bible. People need to ease up on this subject. Its a matter for each person to decide.

Be as jesting as you wish concerning God and our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ, but DO NOT even pretend to tell me to "lighten up." I love my God, my Savior, and I respect, worship and praise them. I do not jest about them.

Foolish words must be answered for on the day of Atonement.

You may think you are being cool, hip, with it, reaching the younger generation for Christ, but what you are doing is trivializing Him.

You do as you wish, it is you who will answer for such as this.

Christianity, loving and serving God and Jesus Christ is not a joke, nothing to jest of...............it is literally LIFE OR DEATH to those we are called to witness to, and they deserve to know how magnificent our God is.

1 Corinthians 13:11) When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Time to grow up. Spiritual growth does not come through jesting, rather through sincere and soulful searching to grow in Him. I have more of a spiritual relationship with God than most every other Christian I have met. Especially those who jest. As for the dribble above, maybe had you been seriously seeking His will, you would have been more focused on walking His pathway and would not have stumbled into the bush.................

God is a SPIRIT, and to WORSHIP Him we MUST WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH. So, tell me again about how bad I am for seeking a SPIRITUAL relationship with Him.

Time to grow up

Excerpt from Article:

In the New Testament “reverence” occurs as the translation of three Greek words, Deos, phobeo, and entrepo. Deos (pronounced de-os), which has the meaning of awe and Godly fear, is a feeling of profound awe and respect. Because of His majesty and holiness, God arouses a feeling of reverence in those who worship and serve Him. “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear” (Hebrews 12:28).

Found Here:

Reverence for God - What Does Reverence Mean -...

James 5:16 ESV /

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn!
