I'm guessing your being sarcastic and that your saying because I'm 14 I haven't lived long enough to be able to comment here. Well you think that because you don't know me. And I'm not trying to speak like a 60 year old - I'm speaking from my own 14yo heart n mind. Everyone can see my age so I don't even know why u posted this answer unless it was to have some sort of verbal shot at me.

I honestly think we can learn a lot from you on how to live a Christian walk. It doesn't matter about whether who has more experience in a certain area, what matters on who lives their love according to the word of God the simplicity of his word and for that I thank you.

You go Zoii!

I've always thought that in a marital relationship that the husband is like the president and the wife is like the board of directors. I'm thinking a wise president would generally do what the board of directors think is good for the corporation or it won't be in business for long. A marriage should never be a one up one down relationship....that is just abuse. Lording over another person to gain power control and or advantage is just emotional tyranny.

That's such a nice thing to say to me - ty so much :)

Zoii,

I believe that you truly reflect the love that we are all called to.

Sound doctrine can and should be learned; and I have no doubt you will learn it.

Empathy and compassion are not learned the same way. The Holy Spirit tries to build them in every believer; but most of us are less open to His efforts than you seem to be.

Gal 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
KJV

Love is the first of the ninefold manifestations of the fruit of the Spirit; and I see it developed in you far beyond anyone else I have met online or in person.

Many women just want to control husbands strictly from all aspects nowadays, I think it is not good.

Hi

I have brought over a post I made in the Romans thread as I feel that it is appropriate to the discussion.

Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain [8] God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. I think that a truer meaning is given in the AV. To begin, the word lust in the Greek has been wrongly interpreted in most translations, to be sexual lust when in fact it just means any strongly felt desire - for anything. Unfortunately it is being wrongly translated.

even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly.

Now I know that the following is going to be controversial and probably no-one will agree with me due to accepting the traditional way of thinking for so long, but this is how I see it as fitting into the rest of the letter.

I do not agree that Paul is talking about sex here. Is that the natural use of women!?! Is that what women have been created for!?! Well sadly, some men do think this way.

No, woman was created to be an equal partner to man, her use if it can be put that way, is to balance out the nature of man for she is one half of the human population after all, and what is suitable for men is not necessarily suitable for women. God's order is that the two sexes should share in everything that God wills for us.

Unfortunately since the fall, man has dominated woman and this is against God's will. It is also seen in the church. Women have been barred from translating and interpreting scriptures and it is only very recently that women have been allowed to 'do' theology. So we have a Bible that is coming from only one perspective and that is, the male one. One example is that sexual sin is seen from a male viewpoint as being a huge issue, but that is generally only where men are concerned.

In fact for women, their biggest sin is passivity. Sexual lust is just not something they suffer from in the main.

So we have Paul talking here about the biggest problem for mankind and especially for those in the church. However, the traditional interpretation of Paul is saying that male homosexuality is the biggest issue and the number one problem for mankind with no mention of lesbians. Is this what happens commonly when men do not acknowledge their maker or is this a biased interpretaion of what the translators, all men, think is the worst that men can fall into?? Really ?? Worse than murder?? We also have to take into acount that scripture speaks much more strongly and colourfully than the way it is today.

My understanding is that Paul is naming the biggest problem in the church not the outside world and this has happened when men put themselves on the throne of their heart and remove Christ, and thus showing the evidence for it, in that men prefer to join with men in running the church and denying women the role that Christ gave them to be equal in all things and needed by men moreover otherwise the churcgh cannot function as it should.

The result of this is that they fall into very backsliding sinners.

And by the way I think you were criticising my parents when u said "I'm editing this post because I just saw your age. So I'm guessing you have seen this from your mom and dad"

I edited my post because my first response had to do you being in a relationship that might have been abusive and then I realized you were 14 so that probably wasn't the case. Therefore I thought this was stemming from something you see with your parents. Quit being so defensive.

well. of that is so, how do you explain:

24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

This is pretty much across the board...KJV and others (NIV used here)

I think you are going off the reservation here...what are your thoughts on the direct sexual descriptions?

This is the KJV

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

i don't agree with the interpretations you are quoting. I believe that they are due to the male assumption that Paul is talking about sex.

you skimmed my post to get to your point

God is MALE and created female...some weird stuff IMO

It is not the KJV. I have quoted it and it does not say sexual desire. This is my objection - it has been added in. I am not a Greek scholar, but the interpretation of it being sexual desire does not fit in with the rest of the letter, nor with logic.

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. yeah...this is about sex...not women's rights

no you are not a Greek scholar...sorry...you are just wrong...honestly...I disagree with the op...but I disagree even more with trying to change what the Bible plainly states

without prejudice

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Please reread my original post. Women are not just to use for sex. It says in Genesis that woman was made to be a helper of man ie he needs her and cannot obey God without her. You are so used to hearing your interpretation that you cannot step outside of it.

Romans 1 applies to men and women...turning their backs on God which results in God turning His back on them

IMO, it has no usefulness for the op other then to indicate the sinfulness of both sexes

Women should not be used for anything but neither should men

ps...I read your post to make sure I understood it...thanks

You are so used to hearing your interpretation that you cannot step outside of it.

ok...that's just plain insulting.

1. It's not my interpretation

2. you are fishing in a pond with no fish in it

I see no problem with inserting a thought into the text for consideration, but it does not say what you appear to want it to say

anyway, enough of that rabbit burrow....if you believe your personal interpretation is the right way because (gasp) a man/men interpreted the Greek...well
