How would you find her? - she's invisible.

Unless invisible people can sense other invisible people. I have often wondered about this. If you are invisible, then that means that light passes through you, including your eyes. So light doesn't have a chance to bounce back from our retinas and enable the eyeball to...well....see. Rather, light passes right through the retina. Invisible people in comics and movies seem to get aroung okay and don't appear to be blinded - but why not? In getting invisibility, do they gain some other ability to sense light and/or their surroundings? Does this allow them to see other invisible people or things? Does this secondary power function when they are not in a state of invisibility?

I have actually spent hours contemplating such things.

Perhaps it's like an invisibility cloak thing? Or some kind of force field? Must to ponder further.

I'd go to concerts of my favorite bands and watch right from the stage, next to the drums...... I'd find an invisible woman to share my adventures with.
Such threads bring out the "creepy" side in all? of us. ...

in real life star trek, when 'invisible', light passes around, not through objects and people.

how about the (real and true) invisible in Scripture ? >>
2 Kings 6:17-20Amplified Bible (AMP)
17 Then Elisha prayed, Lord, I pray You, open his eyes that he may see. And the Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 18 And when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, Smite this people with blindness, I pray You. And God smote them with blindness, as Elisha asked.

Luke 4:28-30 (PHILLIPS) | In Context | Whole Chapter

28-30 But when they heard this, everyone in the synagogue was furiously angry. They sprang to their feet and drove him right out of the town, taking him to the brow of the hill on which it was built, intending to hurl him down bodily. But he walked straight through the whole crowd and went on his way.

Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

No response. Hmm?
I AM invisible.

I like my superpowers.
Maybe I'll use it for good, and go spy on the inventor of Krispy Kreme?

Nothing can possibly be that good. I'm thinking Alien technology?

Wow dude. Kinda over thinking this thing aren't you? Besides - everybody knows when a human goes invisible that the weight differential leaves quark signatures in dark matter. I mean, for crying out loud, you've never seen the footprints thing?

{ I have also done this. }

Being able to see comes from light striking the retina, not bouncing off of it. If I remember correctly, most of the light that strikes the retina is actually absorbed by the retina. Otherwise, we would all walk around with our pupils 'glowing' - from all of the light coming back out - right? :p ;) ( Any reflected light would be absorbed by the non-retina part of the inside surface of the 'wall' of the eyeball. Any light escaping the eye would have to "bounce straignt back from going straight in" - and, would be very minimal. )

While invisible, what if the retina were to [ still ] sense the light that was passing through it?

However, a similar problem would exist whereby light from every direction would pass through the retina - resulting in a "multi-directional overlay" of images. I believe you are probably correct in that - being invisible would [ effectively ] blind you -- only "by light" instead of "by darkness"...

You would only be able to see effectively if there were only one light source present ( light from one direction only ).

Of course, Hollywood has the ability to "correct that vision problem" with only this simple phrase:

"It's in the script."

:)

And, you would have to 'guess' from which direction it was coming!

( "Is that in front of me or behind me?" )

Yes - being invisible would certainly be interesting...!
