[ . . . ] Sin is not the issue anymore (as far as salvation goes). Christ took that out of the way and nailed it to the cross.
I'm confused about this statement E/G. Would you explain it a bit further? Thanks.

I hope you are not trying to say that the forgiveness of sins (with an "S") required Jesus' blood.
What is this "the forgiveness of sins (with an "S")" meaning/referring to exactly?

I <LIKED> this.... mostly. But I think we need to be careful with that "sins were nailed to the cross" thing. People might start believing the Bible really said that.
All manner of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven all men, but blasphemy against the spirit (namely unbelief in what he says) will never be forgiven.

The HS job is to convict the world of sin righteousness and judgment, a person who is not convicted to the point of repenting has denied what the HS came to do. and has thus committed this unpardonable sin.

now. as far as saying I can go on living in sin because Jesus paid for is. that is a rediculous statement, anyone who believes this, I would question their faith in God.

Tit for tat there when splitting hairs about the sin of unbelief versus all other sins in my opinion. Sin is sin, and Jesus made it possible for ALL sin to be forgiven for those who sought forgiveness and reconciliation with God.

Romans 10:8) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 .) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 .) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 .) For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 .) For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 .)For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 .) How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 .) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 .) But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Did you not have unbelief before you were saved? I would say the atonement covers the sins, past, present and future, of His Elect people. Including any sin of unbelief (not that a saved soul would remain in such, never).
No, because jesus made it clear to those who did not believe him and attempted to give credit for the work of the HS to satan, that they were IN DANGER of committing the unpardonable sin. even though they had actually committed the sin.

we have till death to repent of unbelief.

if we say God only chose some people. we can not say he is a god of love, Satans lie stands, and the universe is still in shambles. Jesus did not do what he came to do.

I realize this was not directed at me, but I don't understand the significance of using a capital S or small case s when speaking of sin. I DO KNOW how precious and powerful the precious blood of Jesus Christ is, and what it accomplished though. In an earlier comment, I listed the Scriptures concerning our being a "ransomed" people, and here below are Scriptures concerning the precious blood of Christ.
The Precious Blood of Jesus

Leviticus 17:11, 14 (cp. Deuteronomy 12:23) “For the life of the flesh
is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an
atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement
for the soul…. For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life
thereof …”

Hebrews 9:22 “Without the shedding of blood, there is

no remission of sins.”

1 John 1:7″… the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth
us from all sin.”

Exodus 12:13 “… and when I see the blood, I will pass over
you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.”

Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood
of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony …”

Hebrews 9:14) How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Hebrews 10:19, 22 “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus … Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an
evil conscience …”

Hebrews 13:12 “Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify
the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.”

Romans 3:24-25 “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”

Romans 5:9 “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

Jesus gave His blood to destroy the work of the devil... the condemnation of the existence of the law, and our constant violation of it. (the consequences thereof)

He did not shed a drop of blood to forgive Jewish people of what they tried so hard not to do... "sin" by violating their laws in their daily life. It is recorded that He told several people their "sins (with an "S") were forgiven...... yet those same people had made no profession of belief in Him as Savior... nor had He yet gone to the cross to make Salvation available.

These are two different things. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and unbelief are not the same thing.

What lie of satan stands? Nothing. That God chose a people unto Himself before the foundation of the world is biblical. God is love. Also biblical.

Well, in that case, ALL of the Gospel of Christ and the writings of the Apostles are lies.

Romans 3:24-25“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”

The lie that God is not a God of love, just a God that wants his way, and gets his way, no matter who he has to hurt to do it. He makes us all his robots.

If God only dies for a selct few. and rejects others without even giving them a chance, based on ONLY his own determination. then satan lie stands.

Every one of these Scriptures is a LIE, and they should be TORN OUT of the Bible and BURNED according to your statement.

Soteriology: The Study of Salvation

1) Christ died for the salvation of mankind.

Matthew 20:28) Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Romans 5:8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Hebrews 2:9) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

2) Christ died in our place. Had He not died, we would have died.

1 Timothy 2:6) Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

1 Peter 3:18) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

3) Christ died to appease God. Jesus, by His death, turned God's wrath away from us. Our sins were/are an offense to God, and Jesus became a propitiation for us, being He made us who sinned to find favor in the eyes of God. When the world looks us, they see our sin. When God looks at us, He sees the precious blood of Christ.

Romans 3:25) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

1 John 2:2) And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

2 Corinthians 5:18) And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 .) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

4) Christ died to redeem mankind.

Acts 20:28) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Romans 3:24) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

1 Corinthians 6:19) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 .) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Peter 1:18) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 .) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1 Timothy 2:5) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 .) Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

5) Christ died to declare God's righteousness.

Romans 3:25) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 .) To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

[The Old Testament sacrifices were but a shadow of things to come]

Colossians 2:16) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 .) Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Hebrews 8:5) Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

Hebrews 9:23) It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 .) For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Hebrews 10:8) Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
9 .) Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10 .) By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Leviticus 17:11) For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

[At the Passover, a lamb was slain, and it's blood was sprinkled on the door post so that the first-born would not die.]

Hebrews 9:22) And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

[With His death, Christ became our Passover]

1 Corinthians 5:7) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

I really don't think you have to go read it for yourself. I'm fairly confident that you know He pretty plainly told some people (before He shed His blood) that their sins were forgiven.

do we believe we are Sinners? (of sin BECAUSE THEY DO NOT BELIEVE)
Do we believe in righteousness and judgment?

if we do not believe these things, we have not yet come to Christ. we are still in unbelief.
While that sounds good, I'm having a hard time making it fit into what Jesus said to His disciples about the work of the Holy Spirit.

John 16, NASB
8 "And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment;
9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me;
10 and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me;
11 and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged."

I'm not saying the sin of unbelief is excluded, but in addressing the issue of unbelief, Jesus was primarily referring to the Jews, who should have seen who He was from their Scriptures. The rest of the world had no basis for belief until the Gospel was preached.

Yes He did. And I'm pretty sure you understand that at that time God's Salvation Plan had not yet been established. The New Covenant of Grace had not yet been established, for Christ had not yet died, been buried and resurrected. At that time, He forgave the sins of those mentioned in Scripture to reveal to all men that He, as God the Son, had the power to do so. He also made it very clear what must happen to Him in order to establish God's Salvation Plan for ALL mankind.

As I stated, either the Scriptures I quoted are Biblical truth or they are a lie. There is no in between.

...if you do not believe what the HS came to give (the gospel) then you are blaspheming him.
So now you are saying that rejecting the gospel is blaspheming the Spirit and thereby the unpardonable sin? Wow. Bro...there are plenty of people who did not at first believe the gospel and then later repented and believed same. Are these people's salvation then just fake? Since they are already irreversably doomed for having blasphemed the Spirit? I hope you think a tad bit more before coming to such wild conclusions.

The lie that God is not a God of love, just a God that wants his way, and gets his way, no matter who he has to hurt to do it. He makes us all his robots.
Your argument is sophistry and you need some wrestling with the Word to get this right. God does not expect anything from spiritually dead sinners. If they ever got anything that pleases Him then it is because He gave it to them, after having first raised them up from the dead.

If God only dies for a selct few. and rejects others without even giving them a chance, based on ONLY his own determination. then satan lie stands.
Chance? The atonement is not about giving anybody any "chance", it is all about redeeming God's possession, His people. Why some before others? Noone on earth will ever have an answer to that. All we should do is get into the Bible and believe its record.

I'm going with ET on this one. It's about FREE WILL or being predestined to eternal damnation if FREE WILL does not exist. This is the "chance" being spoken of in my opinion. I will never believe that God, FROM THE BEGINNING, chose some for eternal life and condemned others to eternal damnation.
