But nowhere do we see this as a Biblical practice
Does John 3:16 ring a bell with you? Does it mean ANYTHING to you?

Having faith in Jesus Christ brings salvation!

who here can obey the very first command 24/7?

how about the other one about love your neighbor (who is anyone you meet on the street)? Can we do this 24/7

If your honest with yourself. the law should do its job, and make you KNOW you can not be sinless. because these commands cause you to fall on your face every day.

Do not listen to the legalist who thinks he is righteous because they do not murder, look at porn or fornicate (as the pharisees tried to do) for they are foolish if they even think for one minute they can master these two commands and follow them 24/7

If I fail, then I confess my sins and forsake them with God's help.
That's funny. When I sin, I'm a murderer, liar and cheat who shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.

When you sin, your sins are forsaken, and you're a king.

If I wrote this for a movie script it would be thrown out for being too stupid and unbelievable.

The stars were the pharisees. Who were clean on the outside, yet excused their sin as inconsequential (not eveil or bad, just mistakes)

And here I thought that may have been my best post ever!

You, my Brother, are spot on correct, and I'm grateful to you for bringing this to light.

And so the movie plays on . . . loved by God, rebuked by Pharisees, but saved by Jesus!

Yet Jesus said to the Pharisees...

"Cleanse first that which is within."

Mat 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Mat 23:26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Mat 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Mat 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Is that what you promote?

No. You promote the notion of permanent inward filth. You deny that which is inside the cup can possibly become truly clean.

Thus you twist the "inward filth" of the Pharisees in the context of "outward religious practices" (ie. a form of godliness) and try to apply it to those who claim to actually have been inwardly cleansed whereby the outside is truly clean also.

This is as obvious as the nose on a face.

so why do you not do us a favor Skinski.

Stop being a pharisee praising the world how good you are (you do not look at porn, murder or fornicate etc etc) and start looking to the inside, and realize how often you fail to keep the law of love.

Or keep proving your a pharisee more worried about what is on the outside than what is on the inside.

(ps. jesus was speaking directly to you my friend)

Their filth in rejecting Jesus maintained their inner filth.

Our having faith in Jesus washes away our inner filth. See how that works? Quite simple really.

who here can obey the very first command 24/7?

In other words, ye cannot obey God. No one can obey God and due to this no-one has to obey God because it is impossible.

What a wicked and satanic thing to believe.

how about the other one about love your neighbor (who is anyone you meet on the street)? Can we do this 24/7

If your honest with yourself. the law should do its job, and make you KNOW you can not be sinless. because these commands cause you to fall on your face every day.
This god you believe in, if it existed, is pathetic and weak.Joh_15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another. "Oh but Jesus, we cannot do that. We simply lack any capability to love one another." What a stupid and foolish thing to believe.

1Pe 1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
1Pe 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

Your faith and hope is in INABILITY and YE CAN NOT, it is certainly not in any new birth.

1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

You think that the God of the universe "saves you" and leaves you in a filthy and wretched state where you continue to serve sin. I don't think foolishness could be any more obvious.

Do not listen to the legalist who thinks he is righteous because they do not murder, look at porn or fornicate (as the pharisees tried to do) for they are foolish if they even think for one minute they can master these two commands and follow them 24/7
The legalist is one who promotes the notion that OUTWARD LAW KEEPING is the path to righteousness. The legalist negates the SPIRIT OF THE LAW. The legalist negates the inward cleansing.

Who is actually promoting legalism here? Is anyone? I see a few Sabbath and Torah promoters in other threads, perhaps there are some who hold to the one marriage in all cases teaching etc. Yet to call people who believe that one can truly love God and love their neighbour as legalists? You have lost your mind.

No, this is the satanic thing, that since we can not be perfect. why bother trying. That is what separates people like you from true believers in Christ. We admit we can not do it. so keep walking towards God. because we know without his help. we have utterly no hope of doing a thing for him.

Vs you, who make yourself clean on the outside. yet are filthy on the inside, a hypocrite. a stain to the church of God.

Your faith and hope is in INABILITY and YE CAN NOT, it is certainly not in any new birth.

No my faith and hope is in the work of God. Because I certainly can not.

When are you going to stop trusting (and lieing) in and to yourself?

No. He saved me because I needed saved, need saved, and will continue to need saved, If not. I could save myself. and Jesus wasted his time becoming a man, and suffering all he suffered.

Why do you continue to mock the cross of Christ?

why are we told to wait for the glorious hope of eternity, if we have already made it? Faith is the substance of things hoped for. the evidence of things not seen.

You see your perfection. you do not have faith. you have a lie. because you refuse to acknowledge you can not love God 24/7.

There are sins that lead unto death and sins that do not lead unto death (See 1 John 5:16-18). Psalm 19:12 talks about hidden or secret faults. This wouild be sins that do not lead unto death. For him to knoweth to do good and he does it not, to him it is sin. For example: This could be going over the speed limit, or not taking the trash out like you are supposed to on time. Sins that lead unto death are the sins that Paul lists several times in the New Testament that will cause one to not to inherit the Kingdom of God. For John even defines these sins as leading to the Second DEATH in Revelation 21:8. These sins would be lying, stealing, murdering, hating, adultery, and drunkenness, etc.

For there is no way that you cannot know when you don't do something that is really wrong because the Holy Spirit will convict you of any wrong doing so as to confess of it. Unless of course you do all kinds of really bad sins and there is no conviction in your life.

well then, what makes you think God cannot correct ALL His children?

you put your foot right into it then, eh? There was only one way you could respond so thank you for stating the obvious

So, here's a news flash me boy (I feel like a pirate today)

the Holy Spirit will convict you of any wrong doing so as to confess of it
how do you think anyone in this world comes to Christ? God draws us by His Spirit and keeps us by His Spirit

I never heard of you until I came to this forum and I still keep a clean record with God

Do you see the irony? No you don't see the irony because that darn log in your eye keeps you from it

Yes there are folks on this thread whose grace is more a license to sin, rather then a grace (under which) sin would not have dominion over them. Which is probably why Ghandi couldnt see anything of Christ in many christians, I dont know, I only know the quote as many christians actually use it also.

Exactly my point. You promote "don't try." Even though Jesus said...

Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

You promote the very opposite. You are in complete opposition to Jesus.

Even Paul claimed to be perfect in the context of morality...

Php 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
Php 3:16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
Php 3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

That is what separates people like you from true believers in Christ. We admit we can not do it. so keep walking towards God. because we know without his help. we have utterly no hope of doing a thing for him.
Even with God's help you cannot obey God. You argue in favour of perpetual wickedness and disobedience. Even though Jesus said...

Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

...in your mind it is the wicked in heart, whom admit their wickedness and "trust in Jesus," who will see God. It is apparent to me that you have lost your capacity to reason.

Jesus says one thing and you proclaim the very opposite is true.

Vs you, who make yourself clean on the outside. yet are filthy on the inside, a hypocrite. a stain to the church of God.

Are you just purposefully blind are can you not perceive what is right in front of your eyes. I specifically state over and over that we cleanse ourselves on the inside just as Jesus commanded...

Mat_23:26
Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

I am not talking about external cleansing without an internal cleansing. You just ignore any notion of an internal cleansing.

How does an internal cleansing take place?

Simple, via repentance and faith. Repentance whereby we turn from evil and faith whereby we yield to God and are empowered by His Spirit working within us. We are regenerated inwardly by the Holy Ghost and made clean via the implanted word of God. Just as the Bible teaches. Faith purifies the heart.

You are opposed to faith purifying the heart for you constantly defend ongoing filthiness which is the opposite of any purifying.

Act 15:9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Do you have a testimony of your heart being purified by faith? Of course not because you oppose such a thing.

So how foolish you are. If we could do this perfectly (like you claim) God would not have to keep reminding us, because we would not need reminded.

No my faith and hope is in the work of God. Because I certainly can not.

When are you going to stop trusting (and lieing) in and to yourself?

Trusting in myself? I trust in God and walk in the Spirit of His life. Yet because you deny any possibility of one actually being able to WALK in the Spirit of life IN Jesus Christ you have to twist such a notion into "trusting in yourself."

Obeying God is not trusting in yourself. Obeying God is simply the RIGHT THING to do.

No. He saved me because I needed saved,
Saved you from what? What did Jesus save you from?

From sin? No, because you claim to still be enslaved by sin.

From wickedness? No, because you still claim to be wicked with an inability to be righteous (ie. inability to do with right thing).

From inward filthiness? No, because you contend for perpetual filthiness whilst one is in a flesh body (just like the Gnostics did).
What have you been saved from? Just condemnation for you ongoing wickedness? Is that what salvation is in your mind? Salvation is now some kind of license for wickedness for you can be wicked and not be condemned for it? That is what you are teaching.

In your mind the difference between the "saved" and the "non-saved" is that...

Saved - trust in Jesus - their ongoing wickedness does not condemn them.

Unsaved - do not trust in Jesus - their ongoing wickedness does condemn them.

Isn't that what you believe? You believe everyone is utterly wicked. The wicked will inherit the kingdom because they "trust in Jesus."

Are you really that stupid or are you just trolling in this forum?

need saved, and will continue to need saved, If not. I could save myself. and Jesus wasted his time becoming a man, and suffering all he suffered.
Whoever claimed that they can save themselves apart from Jesus Christ? Certainly not me.

Paul wrote...

Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

We are saved by the Spirit of life IN Jesus Christ and we are saved from the law of sin and death. Sin reaps death and not-sinning does not, thus God literally saves us from sinning, and is merciful to forgive us of our past transgressions.
How much clearer could it be? You don't look at what is clear and that is why you twist these kind of things into "saving yourself without Jesus." You are a liar to imply that because I speak of the Spirit of life IN Jesus Christ in almost every post I make and you NEVER acknowledge that, you IGNORE it on purpose.

Why do you continue to mock the cross of Christ?
The cross of Christ involves this...

Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Do you have a testimony of your old man being crucified, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth you no longer SERVE sin? Have you been freed from sin because you are not dead to sin?

Have you obeyed from the heart the doctrine once delivered and have therefore been set free from sin and made a slave of righteousness?

Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Of course not because you proclaim that one CANNOT obey from the heart, so why even try right?

It is you who mock the cross because you don't believe it. You believe in some fantasy religion which is found nowhere save in theological books and the imaginations of men. It is certainly not found in the Bible, even though its proponents isolate and proof text portions of the Bible completely out of context in an attempt to deceive the simple.

This is the cross...

1Pe 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
1Pe 2:22
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
1Pe 2:23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
1Pe 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Do you follow in the STEPS of Jesus? No! You claim that no-one can FOLLOW in His steps, so why even try right?

why are we told to wait for the glorious hope of eternity, if we have already made it?
Eternal life in the end reward for those who ENDURE TO THE END by faithfully continuing in doing good.Rom 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
Rom 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
Rom 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
It is not hard to understand, you just do not want to understand it.

God is going to render to every man according to his DEEDS.

Eternal life is to them who by patient continuance do the right thing, seeking for glory and honour and immortality.
People like you reject that utterly and teach this OSAS notion that you are saved, yet still wicked, and that you'll get eternal life cos you have already got it and it is all a done deal. You are just along for the ride. Are you really going to DIE ONE TIME believing that? Are you that stubborn, foolish and stupid?

There is no magic transformation of our hearts at death. There is no magic transformation of our hearts at the resurrection. We either cleanse that which is within NOW through repentance and faith or it will never occur.

Rev 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Jesus is going to give to every man according as HIS WORK shall be. That means God is going to judge you according to your DEEDS. If your deeds consist of the service of evil then you will be cast into outer darkness. If your deeds are done in God through the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ then you will find mercy and forgiveness and granted eternal life. There is no middle ground, no grey area. We are all going to stand before the all powerful Creator and Arbiter of the creation NAKED with all delusion stripped bare. Unless we have forsaken evil and been reconciled through Jesus Christ unto God we will stand condemned. DO NOT BE ONE OF THOSE WHO STANDS CONDEMNED, PLEASE.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for. the evidence of things not seen.
Yes it is. Faith is TANGIBLE. FAITH is ACTIVE. That is why in Hebrews 11 faith is connected to DOING.

Noah BUILT the ark.

Abraham OBEYED God and traveled.

Real faith necessitates deeds of faith, real faith necessitates FAITHFULNESS to God.

The faith you contend for is some mere "trust" which you disconnect from FAITHFULNESS. You have to disconnect faith from faithfulness because you oppose faithfulness being possible. You teach, "we can't, so why even try." You said that in your very own words.

No, this is the satanic thing, that since we can not be perfect. why bother trying. That is what separates people like you from true believers in Christ. We admit we can not do it.

You see your perfection. you do not have faith. you have a lie. because you refuse to acknowledge you can not love God 24/7.
You don't have faith that the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ can set you free from sin. Jesus said...

Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Joh 8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

You advocate the perpetual service of sin and utterly deny that anyone can be set free indeed. What good is this Jesus of yours if he cannot set you free from the service of sin?

The Jesus you believe in is not the real Jesus. It is the product of a corrupt and deceived mind.

Exactly my point. You promote "don't try."
No. That is your lie that I promote this, Not what I am promoting. Your sinning right now by bearing false witness, which proves you are not perfect. and your a hypocrite.

Even with God's help you cannot obey God. You argue in favour of perpetual wickedness and disobedience. Even though Jesus said...

Jesus says one thing and you proclaim the opposite is true.
Thats not true either, I promote without Gods help. we can not do any good. I am just not going to be a pharisee and declare myself perfect. For I would be a fool. and no better than they are.

Yet again you bear false witness. 2 lies in one post. you are quite the sinner.

Are you just purposefully blind are can you not perceive what is right in front of your eyes. I specifically state over and over that we cleanse ourselves on the inside just as Jesus commanded...

Thats because you say one thing (like they did) yet you teach another. You rail on not looking at porn and other stuff. You rail as to how holy you are. you praise yourself. like the phairsee standing on the street corner,

And you judge those of us, who like the tax collector. get on our knees, unable to even look up to God because WE SEE OUR FILTH. and beg for God to have mercy on us.

You reject Gods mercy, because you do not even think you need it.

Wow. we finally agree on something.

You are opposed to faith purifying the heart for you constantly defend ongoing filthiness which is the opposite of any purifying.
then you prove again what an evil person you are, and unrighteous phariee you are. by again bearing false witness against me.

Why bother going on. I have not even gotten past half your post. and already caught you in three lies..

But see thats your problem. The pharisee could kick the widow out who owed them money, they could divorce a woman because it was in their law. And did not see it as sin, they were holy because they tithed of the small garden they had in their front yard. and because they do not do these particular sins (sounds alot like you)

and just as they were blind, so to, are you blind, a hypocrite.

ok, I see.

and I agree, Licentious or legalist, they both excuse their sin (deny it)
