And I don't know of a priest personally that did these horrible things. To claim the Church did these things is iresponsible and very offensive. Try doing some research on your saintly preachers and their abuse. You will be surprised. But unlike you, i don't think their churches condoned it. There are bad people in the world. I know this is not the place for this, but i couldn't let your idiotic statement go unchallenged
Now Now lets play like a good catholic child.

Now I would not go that far and say all Catholic's are child molesters and protect and defend them.
For I know plenty of Catholic's that are actually offended by what some of these pastor's have done. The other thing I find funny is that there are people on here who I have talked to that are not in the Catholic church that believes we are to cover up another's sin instead of expose it like they have done. That is completely false teaching as sins rather they are done by a believer or not are to be exposed and not covered up.

The covering of the sins is to come from the Lord's blood when they repent of that sin.

Then the second half is we are not to hold things against them, but instead we are to pray for them, forgive them, and show mercy and love to them.

No Paul nor the Lord tells us to forgive these wolves...we are supposed to kick them out of the church and turn them over to the authorities ...Paul or Peter would have killed these people under the authority of God and Gods power to protect the true flock of the Lord.

If you haven't read my thread about leaving the televangelists, then I will sum it up: I'm leaving cause they just are false teachers. They act like they're sinless, and they're not. I know I've been sticking up for Joyce here, but, one member made me think about this, and I'm in the end walking away. Onto something else I am wanting to say:

if they were to buy a $50,000 house and a used car, then maybe, just maybe I'd like them a tiny bit more. And if they weren't the sinless people they claim to be, then fine. If they said they have sins, but are working on them, I'd believe them more. Anyway... I'll let y'all dish it out.

Really so you deny the fact that the Lord said if a person repents you are to forgive them..........(Luke 17:3-4)

Do you deny that the Lord said if you don't forgive you will not be forgiven...............(Matthew 6:15, Mark 11:26)

Matthew 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Where is your love, mercy, and forgiveness that the Lord commanded we are to live by, and Paul confirmed this in Ephesians 4:32, and Colossains 3:13. Nowhere does the bible teach hatred toward others, and the 1 Corinthians 5 passage you are referring to is only if they do not repent and turn from doing those things are they to be cast out.

You seem to want to skip those other passages of how to handle one in sin, and skip straight to ousting them.
Forgive me if I am wrong on this about you, but Jesus and Paul give clear teaching on the steps to take before just ousting a person from the church.............

They, They, They. Lol come on Dana let God guide you not some other person. That is fine that you don't want to associate yourself with WoF people, but the excuse you are giving isn't something from God. Ever since I've known you you have been a Joel Osteen fan and many other WoF preachers. I just hate to see you listen to someone who screams false teacher just because they were raised to believe everyone is a false teacher.

I'm not going back on my word. I'm not going to be branded a liar. It's just seriously, SERIOUSLY I've prayed about this and God said to not be a fan of these people since they teach falsities. I know you don't believe that, but that's what He said. And yea, it was people telling me the bad things about them. They're trying to be helpful by helping me wean the bad people out. How wrong is that? Not wrong in my book.

Well I'm glad you prayed about it. If your first post you didn't claim to have prayed about it just listening to others. Good luck on your next venture in human religion. I'd say stick to scripture instead of getting drug down by denomination or religion. God will show you the truth in the Word

Very well. It is, basically, that she makes mistakes.... and unlike so many people, admits it.
I have to agree an honest teacher is the best. I am not sure though about those who have changed from WOF and not openly disassociated themselves. I have joined a group who talk about people who were in the middle, got confused about the domination and indoctrination, and finally concluded it all did not add up. The link to money and the need for naive victims makes me suspicious of people who play politics over faith.

Jesus talked about not worrying about how you get your money, but following righteousness and the Kingdom.
The greed and heresy involved goes to the core of what is being preached, so unless it is disowned, I doubt the sincerity involved and it is just a business.

A simple for instance when I am talking about love and ones heart changing means I am a hypocrite and legalist or pharisee in league with the enemy, things are literally upside down. But then I find some who condemned me now saying the same things, so there is too much jumping to conclusions and not enough investigation and patience.

Sure it is but man gets so caught up on tradition and denomination that it is sickening. All I am saying follow the HS and you can't go wrong.

I apologize for those who tend to want to have the insight into peoples hearts and say who is saved and who is not, not realising that is Gods insight and not ours. I truly admire your honesty, and putting forward your point of view.

It is easy to look at the trappings of the TV shows and superficially think it is great. But then you see the business machine behind it, and this causes massive confusion and loyalties in the "preachers" because they cannot offend, it will upset the whole show, so welcome to wolves and the sheep. Be as innocent as a dove and wise as a serpent, because nothing is quite as it seems, but staying close to the Lord is the only key to everything.

I wonder if you know how close you came to accurately describing Christ's whole teaching.... "literally upside down."

Lol. You cannot be very good at debate, not to realise a mirror image is a neat trick to play.
Jesus did not choose his deciples on the spiritual gifts but because of who they were. Character and aptitude matter, but in this super spiritual world, "the wise" discern.

Jesus praised the woman who gave all to the collection in the temple, in secret compared to the pharisee who gave little with great pomp and ceremony. He praised there understanding and teaching but not their actions. I have been in too many churches putting gifts above reality and honesty, to fall for this idea.

The problem is Willie, you lived as a legalist for so many years, and I never lived that life, and never followed a church, or way of being a christian other than being honest before the Lord. So I do not know what is in your mind, other than from your past. I praise peoples honesty and openness, because this is where we find life. Who is true, who has hidden sin with hidden hypocracy and who is true? Only the Lord knows, all I can do is speak from my heart, and that is all the Lord calls me to do. Would you have me pretend to be someone else, so to praise things I find flawed, or uplift people as examples of following Jesus when I do not see it.

I do not know you, only a little. Now I hope I can be a blessing, but I can be only that which I am.

Did God kill Ananias and saphira for lying...how much more do you think He would and will destroy these people who rape babies in the Name of the Lord....in this matter, you are far from the heart of God Kenneth

What kind of person is so twisted in their heart that they rape children in the Name of Jesus Christ and use Him for a cloak and cover for their evil...(what Jesus do they know, they don't know Jesus Christ!) do you really think these people are going to get forgiveness because they make some pretense of a confession as a catholic.... There is no evidence that any of these monsters have ever done anything but try to hide their crimes behind the Lord and to suggest that others must for give them.... If you guys really think God is mocked by the pretense of confession, and not a real heart change... you guys are missing a whole lot about who the Lord is.

1Jo 2:18 ¶ Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
