So you know how sometimes it feels like you've got tiny gnomes in your head who are all hammering on the inside of your skull?

...DO YOU?

Yeah.

Oh boo. They were visiting me yesterday, I'm sorry they made it your way.

I took a pic of my project last night (which I still can't share, sorry!), and realized that in the background I got a picture of some ceramic jackalopes that my studio buddy made. I love his stuff. I think I'll take a look at my finances after vacation and buy those jackalopes and place them in my garden to scare the gnomes away (the last two posts and the Harry Potter series have confirmed that gnomes are evil).

Oh! The same friend and I are collaborating on a project. It will either be artistic genius or a bust - how soon it is or is not purchased from the gallery shelf will determine this.

In other news, I got off work recently and played mad scientist, creating the best pizza sauce ever! Will assemble (no homemade crust this time, I know, I know...that's cheating) and bake after a nap.

Went grocery shopping. I have food that's me-friendly again. Whew. I found these granola bars that are caramel macchiato (and yes, they were somehow dairy and gluten-free). They have coffee in them. I decided to try one. So far I've only had a few bites. They're really sweet, and because of the quinoa in it, the texture is a little weird. I might eat them, I might not....but I can at least say I tried.

I should teach you to make granola bars. Then you can put in whatever suits you.

In other news, I went to the Bob's Red Mill Mill Store and bought 300 lbs of stuff. Hopefully that will last me till my friends come down from Portland in a few months.

Granola bar isn't the same as muesli bars, is it?

This is how I make my muesli bar: Homemade Muesli Bars Recipe - Taste.com.au

Maybe it's the same thing but we call it differently.

Very similar MiaH. I'll have to write mine out, because I kinda just... throw stuff together till it's "right".

That sounds like fun to me! I could put in my own coffee, which that sounds lovely. I drink pretty decent coffee when I have some. My favorite brands are Green Mountain, Newman's Organic, Caribou Coffee and last, but not least, Dunkin Donuts. While Dunkin Donuts isn't really good for you, they do have a way with flavoring their coffees. I'm looking into other organic brands, though. Because organic is just better. But either way...I'd be able to put GOOD coffee in my granola bars. :D

Are you saying that you bought Bob's Red Mill stuff online? Or do they have an actual store where you are?

In light of some recent threads, I am tempted to make a "Looking for a Traditional Transgender" thread, but people here would probably think I was serious. I may take it to the Bible Discussion Forum instead...

Bob's Red Mill factory is in Milwaukee, Oregon... and when I fly I fly out of Portland (because I stay with a girlfriend and she keeps my vehicle). I bought flours for both bread and crust. :)

I use thick cut oats and puffed millet... maple syrup, coconut oil, brown sugar and almond butter or peanut butter for the syrup to put it all together, and then typically I add dried blueberries, dried cherries, mango, or dried cranberries.

Oooh yeah I have PLENTY of oats. I'd just need the millet. I'm pretty sure I have maple syrup. I see a lot of people use honey, too. Peanut butter and chocolate sounds good together. Almond butter and dried cranberries sounds really good together. I'll have to mess around with that! I have a whole thing of Bob's Red Mill Gluten free oats to do it with.

I spent most of the afternoon apologizing to people I've never met for things I didn't do, and I don't even work in customer service.

The gnomes are multiplying, or their hammers are getting bigger.

I think it's time for HGTV and sweet tea.

Now I'm just adding

lines because

it amuses me to post like

this.

I honestly feel bad for the women here sometimes. It has to be uncomfortable sometimes feeling like you're being hunted.

uh...yeah. i like to pretend i don't understand nuanced gestures and thinly veiled efforts to flirt me up. it works better that way. ; p

but really... sometimes i feel badly for you guys. i can't imagine living my entire life lacking the freedom to put on a pretty dress and a whole frilly-full of girlishness and twirl about in a floofy dress.

actually, i hardly ever do that. *snicker*

How about we let your people and my people meet and complain to each other?

I can't say I've ever perceived that as being a lack of freedom before ;) :p
