The simple fact of living in a fallen creation places people in situations that differ from others. Is it God's will that some people be bald and others have hair as a Lion's mane? Is it Gods will that some people are overweight and others are skinny, and still others are athletic? Is it Gods will that some people are right handed and others left? Is it Gods will that some people are short and others tall? Is it Gods will that some people suffer from one thing and others from a different suffering?
I have a bit of a summer cold............guess God looked down and said "I smite ye with a summer cold!"
Why do people insist on blaming God for every thing?

why is it that people do not think? Are we all so blind to our own belief system and listing to those who teach us we have given up the ability to think?
1. If it was not Gods will for us to get sick then every child born of God would never fall ill, would never get cancer, have kidney disease, have heart disease, get a cold or the flue etc etc.
2. If it was not Gods will for us to get sick, we would never die, all his children Including paul) would still be alive.
3. Some of the greatest witnesses for God have been maimed in an accident, have survived breast cancer or some other debilitating disease God allowed them to have, because it was his will to take something that was bad, and turn it out for good. to his glory.
you health and wealth churches do not know God at all, or you would not think of things which are so far from being true (if we REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT IT) they are almost laughable (if not so damaging to Gods character and message of hope)

We don't blame God. Going back to the Jerusalem saints obviously God allowed the famine which created the need...or is He impotent to send rain?

God could have kept you from getting ill, but for some reason (we can not know) he allowed you to get ill.
Must have been his will.
Saying something is Gods will does not mean he forced it on you.. Not sure where this faulty idea came from.
I have seen a lot of post lately that would suggest that some believe God wants believers to be poor and sick....Now I know some are trying to counter what they believe is false teaching, but you cant throw away the blessings and promises of God, just because you believe someone is misusing the truth.
"The blessing of the Lord maketh rich and adds no sorrow".... Its absolute biblical truth that can be defended point by point.
"by His stripes, we are healed" ..is absolute biblical truth that can be defended point by point.
Now if anyone wants to be sick and poor, I will pray for you
If anyone wants to discuss these issue in a godly and respectful way? I will be glad to have that discussion

If you were poor and/or sick than the title of this thread would be : God WANTS you poor and sick
Whatever the truth really is on these issues,
it's still pretty easy to use or twist scripture to defend whatever it is that we want to believe, and/or justify our lifestyles.

Dude decides he will drink alcohol because he likes to get high. Dude disregards the adverse effects of such a decision. Dude ends up with all sorts of health issues, legal issues, and marital issues.........well, he says, God willed it.

Free will of man and the bad choices that may be made play a large role in many parts of man's life. As does the fact that we live in a fallen creation, and that sometimes innocents suffer wrongdoing because of the bad choices of other.
Now, God COULD intervene in every one of these instances and prevent them, but He does not due to the free will of man. He WILL be there for all who call on Him however, and He WILL make something good out of the bad things that occur.

So dude gets liver cancer, never touched a drink a day in his life. never did anything to get or cause liver disease. But he must have caused it himself. or maybe it was his parents fault? This sounds so jewish, it almost wreaks of phariseeism.

If God ALLOWED, it must be his will (to not stop it) it is not our place to question God, it is our place to say thank you God for this sickness, I know you have a purpose for it, which is good. show me that purpose so I can praise you in my sickness.

Just zero compassion or love, in shifting the blame to the suffering, despicable. Many, many wonderful saints of God have suffered, are suffering as we speak. Some people are on a Pharisaical pedestal that's likely to get the legs sawed off.
