How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered!
How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit!
(Ps 32:1-2)

echoing kis.... good morning :)

[h=1]Psalms
51[/h]
1 .) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 .) Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

okay, so I have a question for y'all.. how do you accept Jesus as your savior? I mean, is there a special prayer to say, or can you declare it out loud, or even silently in your head, to him?

When I prayed through, I got down on my knees and prayed my heart out asking God to forgive me
of all my sins. The tears streaming down my face, it is then that I felt a new me, I felt the power of
God over take me. I then knew that I was saved.
No special prayer needed, your heart has to be in the right place, then you will feel it to.

There won't be any getting down on my knees, I'm too decrepit for that. lol.. I get stuck when I kneel down (stupid knees) and have to pull myself up.. :( The price I pay for getting old..lol.. All my life, I've believed in Jesus, went to church/ Sunday school. I even went to a christian high school. But I honestly don't remember if I've ever actually spoken the words "Jesus I accept you as my savior." My memory is swiss cheese on things that happened long ago.. so I guess what I'm asking is, if I DON'T accept him as my savior, would I still go to heaven?

I would gladly accept him as my savior, of course.. :) I'm just wondering..

I guess you just .... do it....
I mean... he knows your heart after all
.... but if it makes you feel more secure, by all means tell Him out loud
I am sure He will love to hear! :)

If you re-read the part where I said I honestly don't remember, then you'd know. Some of the more severe illnesses I've had in the past have destroyed part of my memory. That's why I asked..

Lady Blue, that was the way that I did it. You can pray in your mind, out loud. It don't take
a special prayer to be saved. Unless it is death bed repentance, that is a set prayer,I never
have liked that one. All you have to do, is to ask Jesus to forgive you. Pour your heart out
to him, pray until you feel that you are saved. You don't have to get on your knees, I know
a lot of people who pray in bed, me I would fall asleep before I finished.
To sum it up, however you want to do it, do it. God knows what it is your heart, he knows
everything. He even knew you were going to make this post. I will pray with you, if you would
like.

Whew...........ok.......... :)

You really had me going there....................and I have prayed many times for you because of all you have suffered through.

Only thing I can add is look inside your heart now............if you find your love for God still there, you will find His love for you still there...........He will never forsake one of His children.

God bless

I used to think that I "had done it." But, as I passed the years along... especially beyond 65... I began, more and more, to realize that it is much more a "condition" than a position... at least as far as my personal responses to life situations go. True, if my particular "position" in the environment of events is favorable to being of a surrendering nature at the moment, then for all appearances, I could seem to be "accepting" of Christ as my guide, not just my rescuer. But all days aren't so sweet and favorable.

So, for me, it comes down to a daily (sometimes, moment-by-moment) DECISION to accept Christ as the leader... right here, right now, (not yesterday, not last week... nor even tomorrow), even when my stubbornness and pride want to believe I have it all covered.

Lady Blue, I know what you are saying. I have been in church all my life. About 20+ years ago, I went to
a old fashioned, inter-faith camp meeting. I thought I had been saved many years ago. I went to church
every time the doors were open. I did everything that a Christian was to do. Something was missing, I
prayed, asked a lot of questions. Everyone said I saved, I was missing something, didn't know what. Then,
my pastor, told the members about this camp meeting, it was going to be for 7 days.
I decided that, I was going to go and check it out. They were 7 speakers, one for each night. The first speaker,
I said if they were all like him, I would not be back. The second night, a young 23 year old from Pa. preached, his
sermon, hit home to me, it was are you really saved. You could feel the power of God, moving in that big old tent
down on the river. He had alter call at the end of the service, I went up, and gave my heart to God that night. That
is when, I said, all these years I have been living a lie. I have not looked back, God has been super good to me, as
you know my health is real bad. I am ready when he calls me home. 20+ years ago, I would be on my way to hell
if he had chosen to take my life. Praise God, Thank You Jesus
