Obviously people would need to sleep, go to bathroom, and eat during this time. So 24/7 cannot be taken literally here. 24/7 is an exageration to a certain set amount of time that shows an extreme level of devotion to a certain activity or command. I was trying to say is that God in this instance directly intervened whereby Paul could not obey that command.

I believe people are making an excuse for sin if they say they will never be able to stop in their sin. It is making an allowance for sin thinking you will never be able to escape it. But Paul says, sin shall not have dominion over you.

Hey you are preaching to the choir here, because I don't believe in that teaching that we will always sin every single day the rest of our lives. I do know that it is possible to go days, weeks, and even months without sinning.

Some will disagree with this but like I have said in the past, and this is in the bible, that it shows we will mature in the faith and will learn to have more and more self control. One of the reasons some I have noticed think this everyday sin philosophy is because they are miss taught that thoughts are sins. Jesus and James both refute this because what they are speaking on is feelings of lust from the heart that is sin, and only if one gives into that lustful feeling does it become full grown and control them.

A person who has a mental disorder/disability such as depression that effects the thought process of that person will not be held accountable to that standard of confession. Their mindset is not in proper thinking when they suffer in depression, so once again you continue to make life and death decisions on others instead of leaving that to the Lord.

I am not denying confession Jason, but the part I don't agree with you on is the fact that a person has to show proof of that confession. I mean you make it out that the only way this works is; You sin, confess it, then live rightfully from here on out and can't even stumble any more.

That is completely not what the bible teaches, as nowhere does it say after the confession is made they have to prove it by how they live here on out in all cases. For you have cases such as the thief on the cross who lived his life wrongfully all his life, and then confessed his sin at the last minute before he died. Did he get salvation or eternal death ?

He got salvation and that standard still applies today, that if a person repents of the way they lived on their death bed then they will be forgiven. These people would have no chance to prove in their life their repentance was true, which is why the heart comes into play in which only the Lord knows where it sits. Because in those moments only the Lord will know if their heart was truly in that repentance.

Same goes with depression that the persons heart may still be functioning right, but their mind is not, and therefore the Lord will show mercy to them !!!
1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive our sins AND to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. Depression is not of the faith. And anything not of the faith is sin. People have placed themselves into having a mental disorder. If they honestly are damaged in the brain by an accident and they are unaware of right and wrong, then that is another matter.

Jesus is the cure to a person's depression but they have to study His Word and pray to the Lord to cure them of such a thing.

As for not caring about what the article says: They use Scripture to back up what they are saying. Why wouldn't you want to investigate this issue with Scripture?
Because you posted the link.
I can already assume that its junk, ....scripture or not.

Just because something has scripture in it, doesn't mean its used in context, or worth reading.

As for depression: Well, anxiety and depression are sinful behaviorial choices. QUOTE]

Unreal....

I missed that quote from Jason.........

Thanks for pointing that out tourist, as anxiety and depression are not choices !!!

Especially not depression as I know only a little on anxiety right now, but am full aware how depression effects people and it is not a choice...........

Jason if you called depression a choice, well I am lost for words of what to say to you..........

That is just shameful behavior to thank that way !!!

Okay, so we are in agreement that a believer can stop sinning? That is good that we are on the same page. Now we can move on.

The Bereans were more noble because they kept an open mind and seeked the Scriptures to see whether those things be so or not.

Like your posts.
Insults? Why thank you. I will rejoice because of such a thing.

Nice deflection.
Truth. Not an insult.

You have been shown that you are a liar in some posts, and a hypocrite in others.
How is that being mean?
Do l need to go a few pages back and show you this?

As for preaching the Word in love: Yes, I agree, it must be done in love or it is in vain. But I do not believe I have preached in hate. If you can prove otherwise, then by all means show which post #'s where you think this might be the case.

As for depression: Well, anxiety and depression are sinful behaviorial choices. Read this article on depression here:

Anxiety and Depression are not caused from chemical imbalances of Junk science
(Please take note that I do not believe everything this site teaches; I merely agree with the article).

Yeah I see what you posted now and it speaks for itself...........Junk science

Because what they are stating is a piece of junk and not accurate at all, as just because a person worries about something does not mean they have depression or anxiety........

Worrying about something is a normal human emotion, and the scriptures used are speaking of just that. Normal standard worries that everybody has had at one point in life. Do not tell me now that you have never worried about something in your whole entire life???

Just because a person has a worry here or there does not constitute anxiety or depression.
Those who wrote that claiming these disorders are choices completely have their heads up their butts, because it is absolutely not true for I have seen it first hand by others around me. I have 4 people in my family that has suffered with depression, and seen how they act.

My wife is one of them that suffers from depression and it clearly is not a choice.
We can be sitting here watching a comedy on TV and then for no reason at all just breaks down at starts crying........

Depression is not a choice and I will have words with anybody that promotes that garbage !!!

Crying is brought forth by some kind of emotion about something. People just do not cry for no reason unless their is a problem with their tear ducts. There are reasons people cry, get angry, depressed, happy, etc. But the good news is that one day Jesus will wipe away all tears, though.

Anyways, check out the verses they have put forth and decide for yourself.

Of course there are different reasons for crying. There can be tears of joy. There can be tears of sadness. There can be tears of feeling pain for another person. There can be tears in involved when somebody has Godly sorrow and repents of their sins. There can also be tears of one being depressed about something, too.

Well you would be completely wrong my friend, which is why I said you know absolutely nothing about depression.....

Here you are still debating with a person who know the truth about depression because I have experienced it first hand.
You want to always be right but I am sorry in this case you are wrong, very very very wrong !!!
