Some of you may have seen a post I put up addressing "atwhatcost's" question about what to do when confronted with deliberately of misguidedly posted false teachings. If you haven't seen it, it can be found here.

There continue to be a number of these false teachings posted lately by those who either know they are false and make the deliberate decision to promote their heresies, or they are tares who do not know they are tares, i.e., weeds instead of the solid grain of the Gospel. As I noted in that original post, I will not engage those fools again. They wish to remain fools, so let them.

The more false teachers and false doctrines are promoted here, the bigger my ignore list grows. I will not tolerate words preaching a different Christ, or the promotion of a false teacher to espouses a different Christ, than the Bible teaches.

So keep please, heretics, keep it up. It makes it easier for me to identify you and never have to tolerate the darkening of my screen again by your garbage.

I would urge others to do the same. When we determine not to tolerate lies, and choose to engage in true fellowshp with true believers, we will actually glorify God.

right v.w. it's funny ( in a sad way) the way the heretics spew so much venom then cry like a child when someone gives it back to them.

First, bummer. I can't rep you again. lol

Second, I usually do. There is one thing that works for me. When heretics start teaching on "healing." It's my soft spot. It's my button. But it's that because I remember the whirl of hurt they gave me when I first became disabled and I saw the results of it for other disabled Christians. To ignore that feels like ignoring the mob of bullies beating someone up. I can't. They really are bullies and I can't do that to the targets.

(Well, I have no trouble trusting targets to take care of themselves. It's victims I worry about. Bullies take on many targets. Most they walk away from once they find out the target can beat them. They stay after victims knowing they're stronger than the victims. There is a difference.)

Got a second choice? I'm all ears if you do.

There are heretics and people who are not open to the word of truth here who act like babies with their name calling and mockery and their banding together in cliques to drown out the truth that some have brought (originally with gladness). They appear to be complacent in the Sunday School lessons they have received and do not seem to have gotten much farther than that. God has so much more for people than milk.

Ummm, what are you going to do if one of your many ignored writes something on here? (Thought I'd ask now that I hit this already. lol)

Ignore it. As I said, they won't darken my screen again, unless someone informs me they have cracked their hard shell and are beginning to let light into their darkened hearts.

Otherwise, it won't be worth the effort it took them to post, and it will have needlessly irritated billions of electrons for no heavenly reason.

You know, it's been an epidemic of sabbath threads, Adventists, Armstrongites coming out of the woodwork. Then it was the Hebrew roots, Yahwehizing everybody to get back to Moses, because Jesus came to write the Torah on our hearts, get us back to the wonderful bondages of works righteousness, religions of failed legalisms. There's the sinless perfection crowd, in some delusion of self righteousness that saves, intent the word grace means you're lost and running evening classes on effective bank robbing, raping and serial killing. Now we have the descent of a crowd that must have a plastic, bobbing Joyce Meyer or Creflo Dollar head on their dashboards, here to preach the gospel of charlatan televangelism. Have you noticed we move from one spiritual disease epidemic to the next? How much Bible discussion is even happening? It's all religion cults and incessant preaching the commandments of men. It really is high time it goes on ignore: it is Biblical to dust your feet off!

No doubt...Satan's disciples continuing attempt to undermine the truth of the gospel and substitute it with one heresy after another......and like the Pharisees they are all blind to their own blindness while thinking that they see.

I have a huge bunch of people on ignore. I never did the first years I was here.

I got nasty messages from people, so they went on ignore. I got sick of heretics and false doctrines so they went on ignore. I was tired of people bashing me and others, so they went on ignore.

I will say this, it makes it much faster to read a thread I haven't read, because sometimes I miss a huge number of the posts. LOL

But heresy is what really ticks me off. Not just WoF, but the "lose your salvation" crowd, and sometimes eschatology. Woe, we haven't seen a lot of those kinds of posts lately. I hope no one gets any ideas.

Your whole post is well worth the read, because you are absolutely correct. But I wanted to make particular note of these two comments within it.

Have you noticed we move from one spiritual disease epidemic to the next? How much Bible discussion is even happening?
I think that's indicative of Satan's work on not just this Christian forum, but I'd be willing to believe it is the case with all of them. Years ago, I was on a website with the name I just used to identify the types of boards I'm talking about. It was then, and I'm led to believe, still is, a maelstrom of heresy, unbelief, and dissension. I wouldn't go there if they gave me the site.

But we're seeing the same thing here. These people who claim to be "filled with" and "led by" the Spirit make all sorts of doctrinal claims that are so obviously unbiblical that even a relatively new believer with some biblical knowledge can see. Yet these heretics refuse, even in the face of solid evidence, to cast these heresies aside.

It is a deliberate satanic attack on faith, designed to draw the weak and the unstudied into false teachings and thus destroy their effectiveness as believers. That is why it is paramount that we, as believers, reject them and yes, don't even debate them. They will not hear, and in arguing, they create the very division and strife their "father" desires.

It's all religion cults and incessant preaching the commandments of men. It really is high time it goes on ignore: it is Biblical to dust your feet off!
Amen! That is the basis for my proposal. It is exactly what Jesus told first the Twelve, then the Seventy, to do when their messages was not received.

Plus, we need to counter their heretical efforts with solid, biblically-based discussions that reveal truth through the Holy Spirit who will use those messages to draw the new and the unstudied back to the throne of Christ.

I have always been of the mind that we need to know what the heretics are doing and saying in order to protect new folks in the faith, but because of all the fighting I've been involved with, I feel more like a tare than a child of God.

VW, I think you're right. Time to hit the ignore button, embrace the grace and enjoy fellowship with brethren who give thanks and praise to Jesus Christ for His awesomeness. New brethren in the faith will learn Truth regardless of the heretics.

One feels the need to try to be tempered in these things, but we know what the score is. All the various deceptions come from a very dark place. They are all meant to bring word of God into disrepute, turn faith into doubt, elevate man, which therefore denigrates and tries to diminish God, a plethora of doctrines scripture puts a lie to, that try to steer people into false religion, with its false practices.

Yes, Satan is the liar, the father of lies. It may as well be said that, if the Holy Spirit leads into truth, the liars are being led by another spirit. This is what nobody can really get past, as, unless somebody is young and seeking, combing through the debris field, anybody claiming some years in the faith didn't get led to where they are in these errors by the Holy Spirit. They have bought into some religion not of scripture, and this the very reason their doctrines don't line up with scripture: they don't understand scripture, which is spiritually discerned. Every evidence points to those not really saved. Hate to say it, but it's either this, or the power of God fails. It's an incessant attack on fundamental Christian truths, trying to deceive and replace them, the work of Satan.

You can't love God and hold dear the truth and not be offended: they're offending our Lord, His truth. For this reason, having no interest in all the confused lunacy, and just not believing we should stuff our minds with garbage, I don't really read much here from the tares. It's appropriate to miss some things, as opposed to wallowing in all that darkness. I've missed whole battles, and don't feel the worse for it, for a minute.

It's quite understandable to just relegate it to ignore, something I already do, mainly with the Page Down key, but I believe we reply to them too much, as Vigilant Warrior points out, maybe no replying at all is more than enough!

You go to "Settings" at the top, and, when you get that screen, you'll see "Edit Ignore List" on the lower left menu. Then, you just enter your favorite troll's name. The input window even assists you with names, like doing Google. You could send them all to the disposal unit, in short order.

What if we ask more question than making statements? Seems a more fruitful way to just allow someone to defend their position. Plus...what have we to fear?

How do you put folks on ignore?
Click on their profile in the posts. I will have such things as "Add as a friend" and something like "put on ignore" if you press that, it will ask you again if you want to ignore them.

You will still see their name in the posts, but not the post. I was in another forum for a few years, (not Christian) and the ignore feature meant you couldn't even see they posted. In the main menu, you could not see posts they had started. Unfortunately, you could see that they were the last poster on a thread.

In those days, I would take them off ignore, read the post and generally get mad. I like the feature here that you can view one post without taking them off ignore. And the fact that they cannot send you a PM if they are on ignore.

Of course, God has tempered me a lot since those days. And I can only praise him for that work in my heart and life!

Yep, that is what I am seeing here...quite a lot of it, as a matter of fact, and the loudest of all seem to be those who have fundamental cessationist beliefs, which is a false denominational teaching at its core.
