Click on their profile in the posts. I will have such things as "Add as a friend" and something like "put on ignore" if you press that, it will ask you again if you want to ignore them.

You will still see their name in the posts, but not the post. I was in another forum for a few years, (not Christian) and the ignore feature meant you couldn't even see they posted. In the main menu, you could not see posts they had started. Unfortunately, you could see that they were the last poster on a thread.

In those days, I would take them off ignore, read the post and generally get mad. I like the feature here that you can view one post without taking them off ignore. And the fact that they cannot send you a PM if they are on ignore.

Of course, God has tempered me a lot since those days. And I can only praise him for that work in my heart and life!
Thank you, Angela, for sharing this. :)

What if we ask more question than making statements? Seems a more fruitful way to just allow someone to defend their position. Plus...what have we to fear?
That could work well, depending on the circumstance, I suppose. Seems it could also be like asking them to preach a sermon from hell. What is there to ask, when you've already read more than you wanted to see? And when somebody is not representing basic Bible truth, I know I really don't care what they have to say at that point. Of course, nothing to fear, but just why bother? (There was a time I came here thinking to discuss the Bible. That must have been a dumb idea.) Like this WoF stuff of late. They're of this huckster religion. What else is there to know, that is, to want to know? Do we need the details, all the measurements, on how to make a crap cake? Lastly, the deceivers don't answer the hard questions that nail them.

By the way, thanks for the great Adrian Rogers sermon in the Eternal Security thread, pure gold, Sirk, though that's sure to sink the thread to the bottom. "Oh no! Over 40 minutes of truth! Run!"

Yes sir...Adrian Rogers is my all time favorite pastor. Such a spirit filled man with a walk that paralleled his talk. I had to listen to it again cuz it had been so long. He has a treasure trove of sermons filled with so much truth.

Too funny! Thank you, my Brother! :)
Angela also has another way there. May be even better, like having a sort of mini Great White Throne at your fingertips. Couple clicks or so, and it's later, alligator? Poof! Now, for my next trick...

Plus, we need to counter their heretical efforts with solid, biblically-based discussions that reveal truth through the Holy Spirit who will use those messages to draw the new and the unstudied back to the throne of Christ.
kinda hard to counter with solid biblically truth if everyone is on youre ignore list.

I've heard his every sermon that's been on the radio, also my all time favorite, a gifted preacher and brilliant, deep Bible teacher. One of a kind, the Lord bless his gracious and Christ loving soul. Jesus Christ was always, always front and center with Adrian, this something immeasurable I learned from Adrian, making many other preachers seem lacking. A very hard act to follow, in the history of Christianity. He's still on the radio. I catch him about every weekday.

Ya me too...I wish I could have met him. I think he passed in the late 90's? I'm gonna go thru them all again now that I am a little further along in my walk. I am sure there are a ton of gems that I missed the first go round.

But is it appropriate to counter with truth 500 times, those who refuse truth? What is worse, ignore, or giving them a platform?

Well, sir, in CC we all have a platform, but you think yours is the only one, it seems. Your truth is not necessarily THE truth, but you seem to be oblivious to that. You may just need to hear it more than 500 times.

No, he passed away in November 2005. His website, lwf.org, still has his daily programs and a ways back of archived programs you can listen to online.

What a wonderful loving thread. Once again Us against them attitude. Do you really think that some people are purposely trying to irritate you. You think you have all the answers but you sound just like the people you are putting on ignore. This I believe has been the most hateful forum I have ever been on. You people think you are the upper class of Christians and no one can join your social group unless they follow you like little puppies wagging their tails in happiness just to be near you.

I have tried to be polite and show love as much as possible like our Lord and Savior would want me to do. Sometimes saying enough is enough and people just need to grow up and quit acting like children. This goes for anyone that isn't in your social group as well.

I'm pretty sure maybe you have me on ignore but I really feel you people on this forum just like to argue to hear yourself argue (or see). It is disgusting and sickening and you aren't edifying anyone but yourselves. If each one of us can't see that each of us are doing the same thing to each other then we aren't humbling ourselves.

I really hope their aren't unbelievers here who are seeking the Lord and seeing this bickering amongst ourselves. I am a moderator of another forum and I can tell you we don't allow this type of behavior from either side.

I have been a member of pagan boards, atheist boards and I don't see this much hatred and bickering coming from them as I see here.

Why is it that Christians can't stand to be around each other on forums? I bet Satan is having a blast seeing us attack each other. We wouldn't treat non believers like this. I truly hope you don't witness to people the way you do here because no one is going to plant any seeds at all.

Like I said, this is for everyone on this forum, not just the ones who disagree with me. If we aren't on this forum to edify God then there really is no point at all being here. We are only edifying ourselves.

God Bless.

Galatians 5:19-21 ESV

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Fear not, [little flock]; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Because strait is the gate, and [narrow] is the way, which leadeth unto life,

and [few] there be that find it.

Here is what I have seen since being on this site, and that is the hate, belittling, demeaning, and condemning words from some to others seem to always come from the ones who believe they have the whole truth and constantly call others names and false teachers.

Instead in love, kindness, and friendly manner just give the truth from the Word of God.
If a person is doing all of the above I mentioned it can be safe to say they do not have God's truth, because His truth states we are to walk in love, mercy, and forgiveness; Not hatred, pride, and self-righteous I am better than you style behaviors....

But heresy is what really ticks me off. ... and sometimes eschatology. Woe, we haven't seen a lot of those kinds of posts lately. I hope no one gets any ideas.
Hmmmm, well I'd never break fellowship over..:)

I used to have a few on my ignore list. I took them all off. If I am unable to hear someone differing with me, what does that say about me?
Exactly!! Good enough, Sirk!

There are other reasons to put people on ignore than the simple fact that they have a differing view or opinion.

Ahh, it must be old home week around here. MoladhDia is new, just as I am, and this rudeness and bullying is all you seem to have to offer. How dare you? Really!

What a loving bunch. It's merely a mob, IMHO.
