What if we ask more question than making statements? Seems a more fruitful way to just allow someone to defend their position. Plus...what have we to fear?
Asking questions just give them a soapbox, Sirk. It's what they want. Satan wants his agenda heard, questions raised in the hearts of new or unstudied believers. It might enable him to drive a wedge between them and Christ.

And how fruitful has it been to put truth out there in front of these divisive heretics? The only think I've noticed it produced is high blood pressure, anger, and frustration. I can't find those among the fruit of the Spirit.

As Jesus said, "Any place that does not receive you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust off the soles of your feet for a testimony against them" (Mark 6:11). I've seen Jehovah's Witnesses do this when they leave someone's house who debates them, but their use of Jesus' statement is no reason for us not to use it here in the face of those who "will not receive ... or listen."

kinda hard to counter with solid biblically truth if everyone is on youre ignore list.
They won't hear it anyway.

After repeatedly banging your head against a stone wall, the wall not budging and your head sustaining concussive damage, at what point do you finally decide the effort is pointless?

I just read this and have not read through the thread. So I am giving my first thought and it may have been brought up.

The day I put someone on ignore is the day I cancel my "subscription" to this site.

We glorify the Lord by bringing the LIES into the light. The lies do not reveal His glory or Grace. By confronting the lies and darkness, we reveal His truth and light.

If people want to take that as personal and attack me personally they can kiss my donkey.

They want us to put them on ignore. I ain't gonna.

Post what I believe, uncover the lie with scripture and QUIT. Post the truth and it will stand. Don't go on with pages of "your an idiot" and get the last word. Post the truth against the lie and carry on.( I am not always innocent of this but I try.)

VW, I engage in true fellowship with you whether you know or it not. You discuss bible doctrine and your views and I line up with about 99% of it. We fellowship, you just might not "see" it.

IMO, I tolerate the heretics here if I put them on ignore. I am going to be under their skin, with the truth that I have. And They are not going on my ignore list.
Gr8, I consider you a brother and I enjoy reading your comments, so Yes, I see us being in true fellowship.

I'm not advocating putting everyone on "ignore" who disagrees with me. Good grief, at one point or another, we all have some form of disagreement. If I did that, I couldn't see anyone's posts but my own.

There are only a handful who qualify for my ignore list under these guidelines. I've shared truth with them, broken down their Bible quotations to show them how they might be taking a verse or a concept out of context, or reading it without the insight of the original languages.

But when shown these differing views, a few absolutely and completely reject it without even giving it consideration. Ken said he wished that some of the more fierce who have opposed him -- and perhaps he's talking about me, I don't know -- would simply say, "I'll look into what you have said."

One, that assumes we haven't already looked into the passage. I have, in fact, studied extensively, trying to be a modern-day Bearean. As a counselor who shares Christ with his clients, I don't see that I can do less than that.

Two, it would be nice if they could say with the same certainty as I can that they have looked into the Scriptures to confirm them. So many of them obviously are just mouthing the words of men, and no, they haven't studied extensively the views they espouse. They are repeating a doctrine they've heard in study groups or church, and they don't realize the error of those teachings -- or worse, they do realize them and don't care.

We used to have a neighbor in our subdivision who was the most irritating person on the planet. Nothing anyone ever said, did, or even thought was good enough. Being in his presence caused constant friction, no matter how hard we all tried to get along, no matter how we tried to reason with him. No one was safe from his haranguing, and no one was ever right but him. So we stopped talking to him. We avoided him anywhere we saw him. Life became peaceful after that, and when we saw a moving van in front of his house a couple years ago, God help us, we all cheered silently in our hearts.

Same thing here. After days or weeks of sharing that truth with no effect, are we striving for truth and fellowship, or are we looking for a fight? Or if not a fight, do we really like feeling anxious, angry, and frustrated?

I don't.
Hence, "ignore" is a viable option.

So tell me did I just poof and turn into a heretic for you too?
No.

I wouldn't say you are a full on storm trooper.

I would say you were like Luke when he wasn't sure if he was going to be on the dark side or the good side of the force.

And really? No part of you doesn't just want to do the same to JIA?

I've been watching the miniseries "Pacific" the last week or so. It's what happened to a group of Marines during WWII... well, you can guess where by the title. There was one island they fought on and it was Day 21 of nonstop fighting. A group of Marines were walking back from the front lines. They were filthy, bloody, and wounded. Mostly they had a vacancy in their eyes that haunts anyone who sees it. The group the miniseries is about where the guys called up to be the front-line next. They were giving the battle weary group encouragement, nods and cigarettes as they past each other. That was the beginning of that episode.

Two days later that group returned. They lost most of the lifers (guys who chose to stay in the military after enlistment, so they were battle hard men.) That was just one of equally horrendous things that happened while they were fighting. And when they returned, the viewpoint was different. They hardly saw people giving them nods. They accepted the cigs, but didn't hear the encouragement. (I could see others giving it to them, but couldn't hear it.)

Yes, JIA jumped the gun on you. It was probably unwarranted. But understand he's been in the front-lines for a long time. When you've been here three months, (and he's been here for nine months), see if you don't start wearing thin too.

Don't be fooled. Serving God is war and there is an enemy. And, yes, you're still being congratulated for saying things the enemy doesn't dare say on this thread. (Have you yet noticed the three people "liking" everything you say aren't speaking themselves? They're not shy. They just know we will not accept their manure they dish out. They don't yet know if you will, but they're hoping. The fourth is speaking. She's still new too, so hasn't yet noticed most of us have caught on to her different-gospel yet.)
I really like this analogy.

A lot of people don't understand that ideas are violence. They fight inside of peoples minds for dominance.

I laugh to myself, (not in a creepy way), when people promote the idea of non-violence. The very idea of non-violence is the most violent idea of all. It is against our very natures. Everything about us is aggressive. If it wasn't we wouldn't argue. Especially about being non-violent... lol

The idea of the Lord Jesus Christ pulls down all the other ideas we may have had about ourselves, life and the relationships we have with others. The Idea of the Lord Jesus Christ is violence, in a non-physical way. Just read the descriptors in the bible.

"Mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds". Pulling down strongholds is a fight. Its violent.

I'll stop here.

Good analogy though.

We wrestle not against flesh and blood....
It's ugly......mighty through God...we are His children, He is in our side and if we step aside He will fight for us, silly us that we try to battle on our own

I'm disgusted with a lot of the behaviour here. It's really appalling. Worse than JackH having a go at me and others in Origins related threads in this forum.

Only because the coding yells at me when I just want to say, "Yup!" (You have to write at least 10 letters.) I hate being yelled at, particularly by a non human. lol
So which is it? Ignore or invisible?......I'm a Blond so things need to be real clear before I get it as to which I am......

It's a full time job for me to live my own Christian life. I have always wondered why some people make it their life's work to follow other people's Christian walk with Jesus and appoint themselves mini holy spirits. There are tons of sites that only exist for the sole purpose to seek out and find others who disagree with what they say the Bible teaches.
They then "label" and "denounce" their sentence upon who they find and begin a smear campaign to spread their findings to all who follow their broad castings.

They make lists of people who may fit into their criteria of who's who in the heretic world and then find unity among themselves in the process. There is some kind of happiness in this type of unity for some.

Judging others is a very easy thing to do. As human beings we have a natural inclination to find fault with others. It's what we do! It's in our DNA. As born again Christians its our responsibility to look to Jesus and by the renewing of our minds learn not to judge people's hearts and to allow the Holy Spirit to do the convicting and the leading. It has been my observation that He needs no help in this job. He does it 100% well. Judging hearts is something God has not equipped us to do. If someone speaks in tongues and believes in miracles and you don't, it's not your place to denounce them as a liar and heretic. If someone uses the money God has blessed them with to begin a ministry and does things with the funds that you don't agree with, it's not your job to denounce them as a liar and heretic. Just because one person would not see the need to buy an item, does not mean the other person has no reason or right to buy it. It seems pretty simple to me.

Again, I heard this story about how a Christian started his ministry with the Lord. It began as a small and tiny seed planted. No one saw it go into the ground. No one was there when it was patiently tended and cared for year after year. The sacrifices made and the work of tilling and weeding. No one saw the tiny leaves sprouting up and how it was tenderly prayed for and nurtured. But when this small plant grew larger and larger and began to yeald lots of fruit and pour out a hundred fold from what it once was, everyone saw it then, it was no longer tiny - obscure and needy.

The tiny plant grew and began to yeald a hundred fold of what it once was and grew more and more as the Lord saw fit. And many were blessed and added to the number but many others also found fault with how the laborers were caring for the once obscure plant that was made to yeald it's fruit and shade for others. And they made it their job to tear it down and make it go away.

I can surely understand the unsaved world doing that to a Christian work since they are doing what the enemy wants, stop the Gospel from being broadcast around the world. But I do not understand how fellow Christians can do it and see nothing wrong with tearing down another believer's labors for the Lord. I believe this is of the many issues the Bible speaks about even the very elect will be deceived in the last days.
A voice of reason steps in.....Thank God.

Wrong.....it states that IF IT WERE POSSIBLE the elect would be deceived in the last days........the context makes it clear...it will NOT be POSSIBLE for the elect to be deceived because they are NOT IN DARKNESS and they have the truth.....IMV that is.....

What if God and I are working together to get my heart right and He just isn't finished with me yet?

What if it is my heart's desire to be like Jesus and learning to love people who often hurt and disappoint me?

What if I have accepted the blood of Jesus and believe He has saved me?

Would you ask the heretic separators which list I am on the US or the THEM list?

Personally this Blond only cares if she is on Jesus list I believe it is called the Book of Life.....

Amazing to watch a thread evolve.

it started with a plan of action, then in came the spoken of few. Suddenly the thread is off topic, the plan of action is defeated, and nothing is done.

guess i shouldnt be surprised lol
You mean devolve.

Nevertheless concerning that opinion, there are people who are of the elect who are living in deception. We all know at least one.

Truth is everything God speaks in His word.
That does not say what the truth is though, if everything is the truth then anything and everything could be seen and understood as truth. Is there really only one truth? or is it people make their own truth?

That's not what she's saying. She's saying that God's Word is perfect and it is, in its entirety, absolute truth. Of course there's only one truth - Father God, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit.

I don't disagree with what you're saying but, then, is it possible for anyone to explain why Christianity is divided?.

Because some choose to pervert the truth. Some for wealth, some for fame, some for emotional backing, many reasons.
There is only one truth, some just decide to add, subtract, or twist it.

there is also a lemon problem in that we dont know all things, so the truth isnt always clear.
