Is it 1000 years decay? 5000 years decay? 25,000 years decay? 5 billion years decay? How would you know just by looking at it?
I could look at some old furniture and say:
"Man, that table looks like it was made 200 years ago."
- and, it would be based on
experiential knowledge from my lifetime.
I could look at a tree and say:
"Yep, that tree has been here a very long time."
How would I know whether it is 6000 years old versus 6 billion years old?
What makes it "look [ 'this many years' ] old"...???
What makes it look 6 billion years old as apposed to 6000 years old?
What
experiential knowledge do we have to base it on?
What makes [ certain places of the Earth ] "look" 6 billion years "worn and dated" as apposed to 6000 years?
