I'd like to make a general comment about signs. Signs should serve the purpose of pointing us in a certain direction and they should never be the destination itself. For example, when I'm driving, I'll regularly read signs which help lead me to my destination, but I never just stop my car and camp at the sign. Similarly, when I'm in a store or a mall and I have to go
, I'll look for a sign to the nearest restroom, but I don't just stay by the sign or else somebody's going to need to fetch a mop and bucket right quick and I'm going to need a change of clothes. A bit graphic, but you get my point. When Jesus gave a sign which pointed to His Messiahship by multiplying the loaves and fishes, a lot of people camped at the sign and put their focus upon the natural bread while missing the true bread Who came down from heaven:
John chapter 6 verses 26 and 27
Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
Some people here have mentioned the gospel in the stars or how the signs of the zodiac may point to Christ. That's possible in that
The heavens declare the glory of God, Psalm 19 verse 1, but we're strictly forbidden from worshipping the host of heaven all throughout scripture. Again, a sign may point us to Christ, but we're never to fix our gazes upon the signs themselves. Like I said, just a general observation.
