You imagine that people who come to the Lord and carry on sinning know the Lord at all. It is like saying a blind man can now see, but he still keeps walking into things and falling down holes. He is still blind.

You do not give sight to people by saying is you did not believe OSAS you will actually be saved.
You have to start with what actually in your life is real, is you, is something you believe in. Do you know who you are?
Now if this is too much for you, so is Jesus.

The problem is you want the problem to be OSAS rather than love and the lack of honesty within.
Well, before I answer you properly I need a few questions answered in how you view OSAS.

#1. Can a believer die in unrepentant sin (like lying, lusting after a women, hating another) & still be saved?

#2. Can a believer commit suicide and still be saved?

#3. Do you believe all future sin is forgiven a believer?

#4. Do you believe you can be out of fellowship with the Lord and still be saved?

#5. Do all believers confess their sin in order to be forgiven?

#6. Can you explain how your belief that you cannot stop sinning makes sense in light of Romans 6:14, 1 Peter 4:1, Galatians 5:24, and 2 Peter 2:1, 14?

Please take note that for #5. .... I am talking about seasoned believers and not new converts. For I believe a new convert that comes to Christ only has to admit that they are a sinner. Then if they sin again, they need to confess and then forsake that sin (1 John 2:1) (1 John 1:9) (1 John 1:7).

He not only covers our sins, 1 Cor 13:7; Jam 5:20; 1 Pet 4:8;
He forgive us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9.
So you believe you have a license to sin and or that you will be rewarded with Heaven despite you doing evil?

Did you ever read and think about what John 5:39 actually means?

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:29).

How else do you think you can be saved?
By repenting of your sins and accepting Jesus Christ for real. That means a person will first admit they are a sinner with the intent that they will turn from their sin and they will call upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save them. They strive to live holy and righteous. If they sin, then they confess and forsake it with the Lord's help. They do not abide in sin like they did when they were an unbeliever; Otherwise they are not born again and they are not the new man (But they are still the old man).

The only way to forsake sin is to live by Christ,
Rom 8:2, 4-16.
Yes, that is what I have been trying to tell you. I can do nothing of myself. Only Jesus living in a person can help them to stop sinning when they surrender their life to Jesus (and not sin). If a believer yields to sin as a way of life and refuses to confess it, and strive to overcome it, then they are not saved. In other words, there is no Condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1). So one has to walk after the Spirit in order to not be under the Condemnation. What is the Condemnation? See John 3:19-21.

God 'uses sin' to cause us to go to Him.
No, God does not even like sin. It is detestable to Him. Why on Earth do you think God would use evil to help us? That doesn't make any sense. God is Holy. God would have preferred us to never sin, but he realizes that in order for their to be true love to exist (by us choosing him of our free will), then evil also will exist because of it (for not everyone will choose to love God)).

Yes, God is capable of using both good and evil for His purposes but the Lord does not wish that we ever sin, though (as if it was something good for us).

Since He is the only deliverance from sin, the only One Stronger than sin.
The purpose of salvation is not sinlessness. It is to be filled with God.
Thus He does not eradicate sin from our being when we first believe. Rather, He regenerates us, and begins the process
of salvation life-long (however long that is). Just like Israel gradually took over Canaan
That doesn't make any sense. The Scriptures say, what fellowship does light have with darkness? Do you honestly think God will exuse your sin as He lives in you? He is Holy and will not tolerate your rebellion against Him unless you repent.

Are you talking about Romans 11:32?
Before I even answer that question, how on Earth do you see OSAS in the context of that verse?

Here is the context:

"Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Be not arrogant, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also not spare you. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness: otherwise you also shall be cut off." (Romans 11:20-22).

Where God has shut up all in disobedience that He might show mercy to all.
Are you asking if I think people should be saved?
Ask the Savior. That's what He came to do
Mt 18:11,
Disobedience is bad. Obedience is good. Jesus wants you to do what is good and not what is bad. Why? Well, how do you know the good guys from the bad guys when you turn on the news or watch a movie?

He can save you.
I am already saved according to the Scriptures and not by some false teaching on grace that allows a person to sin and still be saved. If salvation or grace did work like that, then there would be no real point in talking or thinking about Jesus ever again. One can live life like they did before and ignore Him the rest of their life and occasionally think of Him as their Savior. But we both know it does not work like that. There are many verses that have conditions (with consequences attached) if you do not obey them. For example: Matthew 6:15 says you have to forgive in order to be forgiven by the Father. If you do not forgive, you will not be forgiven. There is no OSAS in this verse.

I mean, people here would quickly cure themselves of OSAS if they just did an honest study on all the Commands given to us in the New Testament (not the Old Testament, but just the New Testament).

Jason, you are right. I found it. In the corner of the room, the chalice. If everyone drinks from this chalice they will enter the kingdom, it is just that simple. Everything else has contaminated them, this will wash them clean. Like a kills 99% of all false doctrines, because it is false doctrine that dooms us to hell, sorry, the lake of fire.

Joking apart, Mohammed believed this. Islam is exactly the right faith, and sin comes because everyone else has the wrong version. It did not work for him, and it certainly will not work for you. Unless you are changed by walking in obedient love with Jesus because of faith, not a chance. Trouble is I am not sure you have managed the obedient love part.

You could argue this is salvation by works, but I call it transformation through obedience. It perfects you, not saves you, you are saved through faith in Jesus, and the love empowers you to walk on. But the catch is, without the love you would never start, and with the love, you do not want to stop.
So you don't need to obey Matthew 6:15 because you have some kind of "drink the chalice once type salvation"? How can you uphold the standard of holiness or any kind of goodness with that type of belief?

Some teach holiness but yet they also teach OSAS, too.

Here is a good article that refutes such thinking.

OSAS Lite or the Calvinistic Version of Saving Faith:.
(Please take note that this article does address a specific teacher by name).

In other words, proponents of this version of OSAS are saying that if you do not live holy, you were never born again to begin with. However, the problem with that line of thinking is that it would make a person always to be in doubt of their salvation, though. They can never truly trust God's Word that they are saved on the promises that are given to us.

Origin of the OSAS Lite term:

Once Saved Always Saved?

So you believe you have a license to sin and or that you will be rewarded with Heaven despite you doing evil?
no

Did you ever read and think about what John 5:[2]9 actually means?
5:30 might help us
"I can do nothing from Myself..."

That means a person will first admit they are a sinner with the intent that they will turn from their sin and they will call upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save them. They strive to live holy and righteous.
The last one: with the Lord's help.

If a believer yields to sin as a way of life and refuses to confess it, and strive to overcome it, then they are not saved.
Not saved...........from sin?

If we say that we don't have sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

So if you believe you do not have a license to sin, then how do you explain how you disagreed with my statement when I said,

"You think grace covers a person's evil in the beginning of their faith?"

Would not a covering of a person's evil or sin in the beginning of their faith make them think that they do have a license to sin? If not, then please explain.

5:30 might help us
"I can do nothing from Myself..."
As I said before. I agree that God and or Christ works in the believer. But I see John 5:29 as refuting OSAS because nobody can do evil and expect to be at the resurrection of life. For those who do evil will be at the resurrection of damnation. For the Scriptures say that anyone who does evil hates the light (John 3:20).

The last one: with the Lord's help.
Yes, this is true, but this is not while they teach and or practice a sin and still be saved doctrine, though.

Not saved...........from sin?
"For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins," (Hebrews 10:26).

"Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him."

(Hebrews 10:38).

What about 3:18?
Jesus told people to "Repent" and to "Sin no more." So believing on Jesus would include his message of repentance and sinning no more, too. Besides, it does not change John 3:19-21. Everyone who does evil hates the light unless their deeds are reproved (Meaning, if they repent of their sins and come to Jesus).

All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
This is in context to only the faithful believer.

"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God." (Romans 8:5-8).

If we say that we don't have sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
This is in context to 1 John 2:4 that says he that says he knows him and does not keep his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. 1 John 1:8 was written as a warning to the brethren about those false believers (1 John 2:26) who thought sin did not exist. However, the true believer does acknowledge sin if it does arise in their life because they are willing to confess of their sins. Yet John does not give us an allowance to sin, though. For he says in 1 John 2:1 to sin not.

I see God's mercy in 11:32. God shows mercy.
That's what it says. It also says that He shut all of us up in disobedience.........
so that He may show mercy. He's a merciful God. A merciful Guy
But in order for that interpreation to work, you have to ignore the other verses in Romans whereby it says we have to continue in his goodness otherwise we could be cut off, too. The Jews were cut off spiritually.

Does He help you do good?
Of course.

Do........the third sentence?
It is not wrong to be informed about world events on occasion and or to watch a God honoring film or Christian movie.

God has to start somewhere, Jason.
No. Believers do not start out as practicing sinners saved by God's grace. Believers confess and forsake sin. The Spirit convicts them of sin.

Why not? He's the Savior! He's the Grace (2 Tim 4:22)!
The whole point is..............to talk to Him again and again.
Because it is immoral. Please skip back and read 2 Timothy 3:1-9. It is describing a wrong type of behavior for the wrong type of believers. They have a form of godliness but they deny the power thereof and they commit various different sins.

Who wants to do that?
People who live in sin as a way of life. For he that sins is a slave to sin. Meaning, sin is their master. But Jesus said, you cannot serve two masters, though.

To the contrary:
There's OBAB. Once born, always born of your Father. Jason, God is your Father if you've believed into Christ.
Father. Say Abba Father
The Scriptures mention how there are those who are twice dead, who are plucked up by the roots. This means, they were dead once before they came to the Lord and then they died again spiritually a second time when they backslidden into sin. Also, when you read 1 Peter 1:23, you also have to read verse 22 that says this,

"Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:"

Jesus became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him (Hebrews 5:9).
The way I see you is a man with a table. You have all the commandments, however you view them, which are difficult to obey. You see OSAS sitting there, as the excuse. You feel the answer is preaching anti-OSAS and everything will be solved.

Another camp see this, and believe it is baptism of the Holy Spirit, and walking in the gifts.

I see it with the cross in the middle of the table. It is through understanding the Lords love in being able to go to that cross, personally, when compared to our emotional loyalties, links with people, society, insecurity, fear, that change really happens. So superficial is peoples understanding of pain, sacrifice, suffering, loneliness, emptiness, desperation, hatred, bitterness that anything easy is better. There is nothing really wrong with me that a little bit of legalism and trying to be good will not deliver, they think and you likewise it appears.

So I do not agree with either of your two points, you cannot obey Jesus unless you love Him, and OSAS is just a sealed promise of faith. As you do not see the cross and love, I cannot actually get any further.

1 John 5:10-13 Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.

if you believe you do not have a license to sin, then how do you explain how you disagreed with my statement when I said,"You think grace covers a person's evil in the beginning of their faith?"
If you or I take forgiveness = a license to sin,
then the Lord will judge us.
You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread; as I commanded you, seven days you shall eat unleavened bread...
You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with anything leavened.
Ex 23:15, 18.

Would not a covering of a person's evil or sin in the beginning of their faith make them think that they do have a license to sin? If not, then please explain.
You and I were already born sinners. Additionally, you and I sinned since then.
The only ones God has to work with..............are sinners.
There's none righteous. No, not one.
In order to deliver us from the law of sin (and of death), first the Lord must forgive our sins. Which He did righteously, by paying for them with His own blood, His own death. In other words: He's our Physician and Savior before He's our Judge.
And, 'don't worry' about being so bad that the Lord can't heal you. He's stronger than you. His life, and death, will conquer both the sin, and death, in us. That's what it means to be a child of God.

I see John 5:29 as refuting OSAS because nobody can do evil and expect to be at the resurrection of life. For those who do evil will be at the resurrection of damnation. For the Scriptures say that anyone who does evil hates the light (John 3:20).
Good, that you're doing no evil. Congratulations, or rather congratulations to the One who is indwelling you. In whom you are abiding. Day by day. Learning to live Christ. Rather than yourself. And deny yourself.
Another, serious, example, is related in 1 Corinthians 5:1-13; 6:13-19; 2 Corinthians 2:1-11.

With the Lord's help strive to live holy and righteous. Yes, this is true, but this is not while they teach a sin and still be saved doctrine
So believing (and confessing) that once I am born of God, I'm always God's child..........is not 'striving to live holy and righteous'?
Is................it sin?

"For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins," (Hebrews 10:26).
Don't generalize and misinterpret Hebrews or Hebrews 10 or Hebrews 10:26.
If Jason..............goes to Judaism, then animal sacrifices no longer work. They don't work in Judaism, or outside of Judaism.
As the middle of that passage relates: The Lord will judge HIS PEOPLE, 10:30.
That judgment does not = Jason (or whoever disobeys in this regard) is no longer His people!

"Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him."
(Hebrews 10:38).
Of course. What do you expect the Father to say to His child? Salvation isn't over. As 39 points out:
Have faith [or Take faith] to the gaining of the SOUL. That is not the gaining of the spirit. Which is already gained,
1 Cor 6:17; Jn 3:6; Rm 8:16; Heb 4:12, 16; 12.
In Hebrews, Jesus Christ (my Lord and Savior) is Both Author..............And Completer, Perfecter, of my faith.
Hebrews throughout urges the saints to come forward. To the throne of grace. To the Lord. To our spirit. To run the race.
To finish the race. It is not warning believers to go back and start all over! Because they (we) sinned! That's what your silly teaching teaches. That saints, when they sin (too much, or enough, against your standard), are lost. But Hebrews 6, in particular, says Don't do that! Don't teach, or try, to go back to the beginning, and start your Christian life all over. (As if you could!) It's a waste of time. It's both fruitless, unhelpful, counterproductive, ignorant, and silly.

Jesus told people to "Repent" and to "Sin no more." So believing on Jesus would include his message of repentance and sinning no more, too. Besides, it does not change John 3:19-21.
If anyone [any saint] sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for those of the whole world

All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. This is in context to only the faithful believer.
Great. I don't put as much faith in myself as you.
And I'm also happy that He who has begun a good work in me will complete it.

Correct Jason. You need not wait until hell to experience death. The mind set on the flesh is death. But the mind set on the spirit is life. And peace. The choice is yours.

John does not give us an allowance to sin, though. For he says in 1 John 2:1 to sin not.
An allowance?

in Rom 11:32. God shows mercy.
That's what it says. It also says that He shut all of us up in disobedience so that He may show mercy. He's a merciful God. A merciful Guy-------------- But in order for that interpreation to work, you have to ignore the other verses in Romans whereby it says we have to continue in his goodness otherwise we could be cut off, too. The Jews were cut off spiritually.
Okay Jason, sorry: God is merciless. He's a merciless guy

Does He help you do good? Of course.

So then He...............is merciful?
Or just helpful

Believers do not start out as practicing sinners saved by God's grace. Believers confess and forsake sin. The Spirit convicts them of sin.
Right. I don't know of any believers who have sinned since they believed

Please skip back and read 2 Timothy 3:1-9. It is describing a wrong type of behavior for the wrong type of believers. They have a form of godliness but they deny the power thereof and they commit various different sins.
So what should they do?

People who live in sin as a way of life. For he that sins is a slave to sin. Meaning, sin is their master. But Jesus said, you cannot serve two masters, though
So which master is stronger? Which one will win you?

The Scriptures mention how there are those who are twice dead, who are plucked up by the roots. This means, they were dead once before they came to the Lord and then they died again spiritually a second time when they backslidden into sin. Also, when you read 1 Peter 1:23, you also have to read verse 22 that says this,
"Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:"
Are you allowed to die only once?

John 3:15-16
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 10:27-29 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

1 John 4:4-6 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

John 6:37-39 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise [never] cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Romans 11:29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. [Luke 11:13, 1 Corinthians 12]

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

2 Corinthians 1:22 And who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

1 John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.

1 John 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Philippians 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 1:13-14 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Romans 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? [the devil, deceivers] It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 6:17-20 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
