I wouldn't go so far as to say the pope is the antichrist there is far to little evidence to suggest that. True he wants a one world government but so does Obama and other ppl. The one world government is trying to be built in order for peace and security but obviously that is not how it is going to turn out.

However for those who don't know there is an interesting thing about this so called anti Christ Obama

One way this verse could have been said by Jesus in Hebrew (in order to get translated this way by Luke) is:

(I saw) (satan) (fall) (like) (lightning) (from) (the heights)
ra'ah satan naphal 'aher baraq o bamah

I analyzed this quote several years ago after a friend asked me if it was true. My conclusion was that you had to mix Hebrew and Greek to get anything even near approximating what you have written. And that is a hermeneutic no-no!

Simply not true! If you don't like Obama, then go on the facts of what he has said and done, not this kind of internet slander.

(I have no vested interest one way or another about who is president of the USA, because I am a Canadian!)

I don't know if Obama fit this description.

Did Obama like a lamb/Christ?

He is pro abortion, pro gay marriage.

I get it! You hate the pope, not very Christian, but I get it!
Hi mwc I asked you a query about penance on the other thread but I
didn't want to alter that thread by bringing the catholic debate into it.
So I thought I would respond on this one.

I have mixed feelings about the Catholic Church as I have seen both the good
and bad in it. So if you would indulge me a little, I am honestly not into
Catholic bashing, no more than I am into any other denomination bashing.
We are all lost and need a saviour with the need to come to salvation.

Bad

The way it esteems popes and Mary when all glory, praise and honour
should be given to Christ.

The praying to Mary.

The way it teaches the mass actually becomes the body of Christ, as if it has
some magical properties almost. This IMO can give people a false sense of
salvation as it might lead people to think they are saved by partaking in the mass.

It is very ritualistic (which in some ways can be good see below) but the ritualism
can give people the impression they are saved just by following rituals.

I have an aunt who wanted to marry a Catholic but the Catholic Church forbid it
unless she was also Catholic. So she went through the rituals of becoming a
Catholic got married and never read the bible or attended a Catholic Church
again. This disturbs me as it suggests people think they are Catholics and are
saved just by doing a few things. She did.

Very few Catholics seen to read the bible or are encouraged to do so. But whatever regard
you have for the local priest, he is not infallible.

Good

It does say in the bible confess your sins one to another. I can see a kind of
way in which the confessional can be beneficial as it means having to go to
someone in humility and acknowledging they have done wrong, which must be
a very hard thing to do. Most people want to keep their wrong doing to themselves
and keep it secret. I am sure God must see those who do this with a right motive
and their humility. One thing though is I think from a biblical perspective the
priest would also need to confess their wrong doing to you, or at least to another
priest. I have also wondered who the pope confesses to. I think in all circumstances
of confessional it is vitally important to say sorry to God also, rather than just
another human being.

Some people do need ritualism and order for various reasons, they might
struggle otherwise to get their thoughts together. I have some friends who
go to a bible believing born again Church of England church. The first time i
visited I was surprised that they still used a book of prayer and also read out
various other thing from it during the service. There was no doubt it was a
bible believing church but they still had this tradition and a few others.
I came to realise over time though that this can be beneficial for some as it
is inclusive and the whole congregation joins in. Even those who might by
shy of speaking out publically or who would find it difficult to concentrate
can join in with these public statements and prayers.

In the city I live there is a real spiritual revival going on and it is spreading
to the Catholic Churches, there seems to be a lot less praying to Mary and
more rejoicing in the Lord. Catholic Church's which were once very insular
and closed off seem to be opening their doors and holding evangelical
meetings and mission days. I think God does and is working in the Catholic
Church and that there are genuine born again Christians within it.
One Catholic church up the road has started to have healing meetings and
times of bible reading and waiting upon God. They are more spiritually
alive than another evangelical church nearby.

I for one would never say someone is not saved because they go to a Catholic
Church, while I would not attend a Catholic Church because there are certain
things I just can't agree with, I think we will all get a big surprise in
the next life when we find out who was saved all along and who wasn't.

mwc read your bible don't be afraid to ask questions, enquire of God,
trust in Him, ask Him to direct your path, if you currently feel more
comfortable in the Catholic Church then maybe that is right for you at
the current time.

God bless

ps sorry this is so long!

The pope states the Koran is a book of peace and Islam is a peaceful religion. Need I say anything more?
Pope Francis To Followers: “Koran And Holy Bible Are The Same”

(AP Photo/Alessandra Tarantino)

On Monday the Bishop Of Rome addressed Catholic followers regarding the dire importance of exhibiting religious tolerance. During his hour-long speech, a smiling Pope Francis was quoted telling the Vatican’s guests that the Koran, and the spiritual teachings contained therein, are just as valid as the Holy Bible.

“Jesus Christ, Mohammed, Jehovah, Allah. These are all names employed to describe an entity that is distinctly the same across the world. For centuries, blood has been needlessly shed because of the desire to segregate our faiths. This, however, should be the very concept which unites us as people, as nations, and as a world bound by faith.

Together, we can bring about an unprecedented age of peace, all we need to achieve such a state is respect each others beliefs, for we are all children of God regardless of the name we choose to address him by. We can accomplish miraculous things in the world by merging our faiths, and the time for such a movement is now. No longer shall we slaughter our neighbors over differences in reference to their God.”:eek::eek:

When God dealt with Israel and had to judge notice he always found a remnant, I believe it is the same for the all the churches that believe in Christ but because of religion are blinded to the truth. Look at the conversion of Saul to paul, or Nicodemus who came to Jesus by night, the thief on the cross, the 3000 in the book of acts, you and I. He who has a ear let him hear what the spirit has to say. We are called to preach and teach the word this is true but look closely, our great commission is to preach Christ then if one shall believe we are to nurture them up in the ways of the Lord. How would you ever expect a person to understand the end of a book when they don't even understand the beginning? Jesus said to preach the good news and if they receive it and believe it they will be saved but if they reject it we are told to move on. Remembering that back in the day they only had the old testament and a story that was yet to be in print. I believe everyone deserves to hear the good news, Catholics, Mormons, j.w. murders ,thieves, druggies rich and poor. My job is not to change them but to bring them to the one that can.
I get a little tired of saints asking or saying " o so all we do is pray" prayer is a holy occupation as is the strongest power and privilege a christian has , ya see Jesus died for that to give us access to the father he's the one that is the can do guy......just saying

We don't hold the pope in any special esteem. We do give Mary the honor she deserves.
Every Catholic must confess, priests, Bishops, Pope, everyone. Priests are not infallible and the only time the pope is infallible is when it comes to doctrine, that's it. The Holy Spirit has insured doctrine will not change, afterall when you have the truth you can't change it as so many churches have done to please man, not God. I do read my bible and I am encouraged to read it by my priest. You are correct that scripture says to confess your sins to one another. There is no scripture for confessing alone. That would go against the scripture John 20:22-23. I hope this anwers some of your questions. I am a Catholic thatregularly attends Mass and I am saddened to see all the misunderstanding and right out lies being told about the church here on CC by so-called Chistians

I can't help but feel that this one world order one world religion thing will be linked to the beginning of the tribulation and the mark of the beast and such. If they are going to make a one world religion it would have to be an ear tickler to every religion because religion is likely the one thing that prevents true peace so that is probably their biggest challenge.

As of now I doubt there is any way to tell who the antichrist is, we can make educated guesses but in the end we won't know until he reveals himself.

If Pope infallible in doctrine, then the doctrine will never change.

The fact is :

Doctrine Muslim include in the plan of salvation never exist before 1964

It mean change in doctrine is happen.

It mean Pope fallible in doctrine.

Great photos. What blood-bought Christian would ever kiss the Koran? It's akin to kissing the Satanic Bible.

That is all that happens here when they know you are Catholic
This site was made to fellow believers to be in fellowship and the definition of a Christian is a follower of Christ and I have met many Catholics and while I do not share their beliefs on some things they do follow Jesus and thus are Christians.

Catholics should not be shunned or attacked on a Christian site

Oh really? :( Who is the Jesus of Catholicism?

One who is a failure. One who's sacrifice wasn't enough to save them fully. Thus, one must suffer in purgatory for sins the blood of their Jesus couldn't cover.

Catholicism is just another works-for-salvation false religion.

Continue your smear campaign! You people love to hate the Catholics. Which is why I question that this is a Christian site.
please understand we do not hate people, Jesus said to love,

but the bible does talk about a false religious church[mother of harlets]

and the bible says to come out of its teachings, people are decieved,

that does not make them evil, but God said this would happen.
