I know an elderly gay couple, they live not far from us, they are conservative christians, only they aint married cause they dont believe it is right, and then theyre living together not being married...catch 22 I guess....theyre so sweet
Where I grew up there was a couple next to my grandparents house. They were known as "the sisters". They both taught grade school. I think their "sisterhood" was a little more than met the eye but they never let it on.
What is the question they ask at weddings...."does anyone have any reason these two should not be joined"? speak now or forever hold your peace.... I would go if they allowed this challenge to a part of the ceremony.
Oh my! Thats as rude as dedicating 'Run Around Sue' to a bride...
Or better yet...a rendition of 'Cats in the Cradle' at little Bobbys B Day party.
Good times!
You can love as God loves...but never approve the evil and wickedness that God has clearly declared cannot be approved.
I love my brother enough to tell him the truth and those things that will destroy him. No... love does not approve wickedness nor joins the party when wickedness is celebrated.
1Co 13:6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;

God's covenant of marriage is between man and woman, and a similitude of Jesus Christ and His bride, the church. It's an impossible Christian case that defilement of such is of optional participation.
2 John 1:10-11 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Romans 12:9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
Luke 14:26-27 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
I know what you're saying, Brother, but the weak in faith would see love, and within that love, they'd see grace. I'm positive such love and grace would bear good fruit in other realms of life.
Anyway, for me its a moot point. We don't have to deal with this yet in my family.
Everyone who has read my posts has no problem understanding that I say what I mean and mean what I say. I would simply tell them that this is an abomination in God's eyes and I will not support it in any way, shape of form
My mother in law had a guy that they knew who had been in a cohabiting relationship with a another man for many years. When they broke up, the other guy took everything, and left him with nothing but the clothes on his back. My in laws let him live in their bunk house till he got back on his feet. Sure.... you could argue that what happened was consequences for living in a sinful lifestyle... but don't you think there should be some legal protection for people? Granted....calling it "marriage" took it too far.
If people desire to be their own god we have no right to not let them....but we shouldn't be redefining the order of things and how God willed for things to be.
I would decline the offer and they would totally understand for prior to any marriage I would share how much GOD LOVES them and give them a true understanding between LOVE and lust. Feeding the spirit and feeding the flesh. Determining our own destination after death. It's not what our own flesh desires, nor what the world accepts or rejects but what thus says the LORD. And let them know know matter their decision know I'm Praying for your soul.
