OK. The nephilim were supposed to be due to angels sleeping with people and producing babies.

Noah's flood was supposed to have wiped out every living thing except that which is in Noah's ark .

The giants that the Israelites defeated such as Goliath etc, were supposedly descended from these nephilim.

So there is clearly a contradiction. Either the giants were not from the nephilim, or the flood did not wipe everything out?

Or.. perhaps some nephilim could swim.

Your thoughts?

'Noah 'was perfect in his generations'.

God did not get it wrong with those on board the Ark, would have been no point for the Ark then, the Deluge was localized and this can be proven biblically and historically.

WRONG AND WRONG IE HISTORICALLY AND BIBLICALLY

Snail, you already told us you are descended from the only Nephilim that could swim

Ok I thought the purpose of the flood was to destroy this mixed angel/human race... but if one of Noah's family had nephilim blood...then the flood didn't accomplish its purpose?

This is one of the reasons I don't buy the whole mixed angel/human thing. In any case, it says that God saw the wickedness of man. The Nephilim were a symptom, the cause was man's wickedness. I think the flood would have come regardless of the Nephilim.

I honestly don't know why anyone would want to breed with hairy cave women that is disgusting.

I think they didn't have a choice since they don't breed with eachother. I guess it was humans or animals and they chose humans.

That's an interesting point...now why would God create them with the ability to breed..but not be created to be able to breed with each other?

Distribution of the World

  • Sem Melchisedech went to Asia with 25 rulers of his family. He built Salem (Jerusalem) and lived until the time of Abraham.
  • Japheth went to Europe with 14 rulers of his generation.
  • Cham was out of favour with his father, but he had his heritage allowed to him, the other third part of the world.
Noah went on a voyage to distribute the world to his sons.

Giant is a relative term.

To a short asian, a tall scandinavian might be called a giant.
God chose Noah because of his genetic purity. It stands to reason his wife and his daughters in law had to be untainted by the Nephilim as well.

We know that conditions were different before the flood.
They lived longer. (According to one theory gravity may have been lighter – hence pterodactyls) They were genetically stronger and may well have been bigger and taller without having dodgy DNA.

This author describes Noah as a giant. Which from our perspective, he may have been.

There is evidence that Noah did travel around the world.

(Cup, you will find this interesting – what they have to say about Dardanus)

In the book of Enoch 7:1-4 the giants are said to be 450 ft tall.

Noah said to be 12 ft, Adam 14-16 ft tall I think. Christ would be a midget beside them.

Still that's half of 12. But no, Jesus was no where near 6 ft the average Jewish male was 5'5" max, at least if Jesus was that tall then the bible would make special mention of it.
