I got to laugh. It the UK we had a showing on TV a remake of Abraham Lincoln with a twist.
The twist was the confederates were really vampires. The idea is so funny because it just shows how deep seated the ideas of outlook have molded different people.
I also made me think of all those who, in such a little space of time, appear to have not managed to respect the idea, we have differences, but we are still people worthy of respect. That is why the book of Job always empresses me.
Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
Job 1:8
Now if the Lord can address Satan in such a way, then we likewise should be able to address everyone fairly. I find it hard, but then I realise when I am reduced to fighting for something that is mine, rather than stepping back, and realising it is not my battle but the Lords, I am merely a party in the game, it is important for me to learn who the Lord is and my place.
Even Moses lost it, and so I know it is easy to do, and very hard to learn to keep reality in focus.
So I wish to not be blown about but to stay in that place I love to be, in the presence of the Lord.
Reading about revivals puts a hunger in me, for people to see the beauty of the purity and fellowship with Jesus and how things dim into the background when reality walks in.
