So Im writing this book. I cant tell if there's to much violence in it and would it be displeasing to the lord. So Im thinking of including a stronger anti violence message. Im thinking of revamping alot of it. Its about super hero's so there is violence. I just cant tell if the violence is there for the sake of violence or its necessary for the growth of the characters. I know books like Lord of the Rings are violent but contain a message. That is what I want my book to be like. Should I continue writing or quite?

As long as you don't go into unnecessary detail and there's an overall message, I'd say it's fine. That's just my opinion though...

If it's just violence for the heck of it, I would reconsider. But if the violence is there to move the story forward or tell the reveal something about characters and how they operate, I don't see a problem with it. Still, sometimes less is more. It's up to you. Personally I don't see any problem here.

I'm so glad, Pres. So glad. Sorry, I forgot your son's name. I remembered it was a priestly name, but that doesn't narrow it down heaps. Eli's now 8.5 months old? Wow, wow, wow! Good on you, mate.
I do go into a lot of detail. At first it was for the sake of violence now im thinking of keeping it to show there suffering and how terrible violence is. The message of my book has changed. I started the book before I was saved and alot of the first volume shows alot of my sin. But Im thinking of keeping it to show how the characters grow out of it.
Here's my suggestion. Wait to evaluate the merits of the violence in the story until you reach the editing process. In other words, finish the story now. Get it all written out.
Professional writers go through several revisions when their first draft is complete. After you have the story out, then it's a good time to view the piece as a whole with a critical eye. If you spend too much time second-guessing the story now, you'll kill it, creatively speaking.
Read the entire BIBLE...violence is there...demons, wars, attacks, killings, entire regions wiped out. City walls being breached and conquered. HECK..GOD's own chosen people were captured..and exiled, suicides, spearings, beheadings, diseases, and more. Violence, in general , can be 'watered down" by not giving exact details with the blood and guts, spasms and dying breaths. IT's gonna get ugly during earth's last battle of Armageddon too! Guess what....JESUS knew violence in the worst way..and HE was completly innocent and did not deserve the brutality he faced....should his long and drawn out death be hushed?

I'm writing a book too. The thing is this, you as well as I are Christians. So, that means that if we are doing something that the Lord doesn't like He, as our Dad, will tell us. If in your heart you feel that the Holy Spirit is not telling you to stop, If you're praying and God is not telling you anything about it, well do it.
Your book may contain violence. And violence is a reality in our society. But the essence of the book is what matters the most. Not the violence, but what you want people to know. I liked what you said: " I started the book before I was saved and a lot of the first volume shows a lot of my sin. But I'm thinking of keeping it to show how the characters grows out of it" . That's awesome. Because you can show to others how God transformed your heart and how that transformation reflects the story of your book. God will definitely glorify His name on that.
