Oh, oh! Finally a subject I have expertise on! I am dim! I've been dim for 59 years and counting!
There is both hope and no hope for the dimwitted. As long as I am on earth I shall remain dimwitted! It's my personality, my skull thickness, that running static in my brain that rather waste time looping musics than use that part to think out God, and the huh-I-just-don't-get-it I was born the be. There is just no hope to ever become truly sharp in this body!
BUT there is hope, because despite all of that, with much pushing and prodding, God is able to get in me what he needs to get in me. It's slow and hard, but I do, eventually, get some stuff that God shoves into me.
And then there is the biggest hope -- eternity. When I die, God has promised a new and perfect body to worship him forever. Bingo! Even the dimwitted knows that's what I'm designed to do -- worship God forever. So, tada! God get's his will even with the dimwitted! Yippee!
(And, you may well think that's smart, but honestly? 59 years old and it's taken me that long to get there. And, really? How do you know you aren't with me in the box of dim light bulbs? You might not be, but I wouldn't know because I'm dim. lol)
ODAD would be true, if salvation could be lost and one died again. The author of hebrews makes this clear. If one can fall away, they can not be renewed to repentance, ie, they are dead forever.

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”
Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
