"that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
In church last Sunday the pastor said "people if you are still living a life of sin then you are not saved". This kind of annoyed me because I know in context of talking to someone who's just heard about Jesus it would just be about whole heartedly asking for the gift of salvation and thus they would be saved by grace(then inclined to live a christian life).
It seems like christians lean towards just asking or asking + living a christian life depending on the context.
I remember wholeheartedly understanding the situation that I was a sinner and asked for salvation when I was like 10 years old. Once I got into highschool I began to hang out with very non-christian people to do non-christian things but I always defended christianity and had a conscience about sinning. It wasn't until recently this year I decided to "go all the way" and live the christian life but it just annoyed me hearing that because I think about major difference between evangelizing someone to become a christian and them actually giving up their entire worldly routine instantly.. It seems that sinning isn't only a desire of the heart it's a psychological addiction that has to be progressively fixed as well.
