I'm more of a dog person than a cat person. I haven't had a dog for many years but
the dog I had in my teens/20s was such a clever faithful friend. He followed me everywhere
and put up with all my funny ways.
He was a lassie type collie/cross golden Labrador so he was a big hairy bundle of
fun but very soft and placid.
When he got hungry he would grab his food bowl, march up to you and drop it on
your feet.
He learnt how to spell too we couldn't say the word walk as he got too excited so we had to
spell it out. Then after a while he discovered what w.a.l.k. meant!
Sometimes if he got a bit cold in winter he would crawl into bed with me
then wag his tail with a guilty look on his face!
He didn't like going to the vet, he would put on his big cowardly lion
look and sulk when we took him.
