Do people think God seriously doesn't have the ability to create a universe that is already so far along the axis of time?

Or for that matter, young with the appearance of age?

Like Adam and Eve the instant they were created. Or the trees, plants, animals, etc., etc.

Exactly, its such a simple concept and christians are pretty much disabled when it comes to defending their faith. This is why apologetics is so important.

I think people have to stop thinking an old universe is mutually exclusive with a recent creation time. Do people think God seriously doesn't have the ability to create a universe that is already so far along the axis of time?
but it does raise the question as to whether it fits in with what we know of God's activity. In most cases God starts things off and then allows things to work their way through, only 'interfering' where necessary.. In view of the irrelevance to Him of time why should He not have done the same with creation?

For example in yom 3 the writer give the impression that vegetation grew out of the earth and slowly developed. It does NOT give the impression that He just created it in forms old and new. That would require some time to come to accomplishment.

I am not a believer in the Big Bang theory, But Scripture itself requires me to believe that the world is much more than 6000 years old. And this is supported by archaeology.

Well if I was defending the faith I would think myself foolish to argue about science and religion. I am more concerned with what people think about Jesus Christ than what they think about Genesis. If we do the latter we disable ourselves and make our theories more important than the truth about Jesus Christ.

Do Seventh-Day Adventists belong to a cult?
Biblical creation isn't a creation of the Seventh-Day Adventists. You can keep perpetuating that lie, Jacksie, but it doesn't make it truth.

What has always irked me about old earth creationists is their belief that God didn't mean exactly what He said. That God, in fact, misled us via the creation story in Genesis.

God revealed to us that He created the world and everything in it in six literal days. That He created a man and a woman immediately, and not through a process involving millions of years. He told us plainly that He flooded the entire world, killing everything but Noah, his family, the animals in the Ark, and the water dwelling creatures.

These stories were not metaphors, themes, or fables.

The hard truth is, old earth creationists trust the opinions of man over the word of God. They try to cram evolution and millions of years into the Bible instead of letting the Bible speak for itself.
So when you say letting the Bible speak for itself, do you mean it literally or metaphorically?

Both, depending on the context. When the context calls for figurative language etc. that's what's used. But most of the time you can read the Bible plainly. After all, the Bible is at its most basic level a history book of God and His love for His creations.

The SDA do not believe we have a Soul, Only people who observe the Sabbath are saved, and Jesus spends his time in heaven going through our files, (Investigative Judgement). They also believe that Ellen White and her sugary ramblings are on par with the Bible. Sounds like a cult to m!

You have to take the Bible literally to understand the Bible because the Bible says there is no private interpretation of the Bible.

Sure it's a cult.

And as this article proves the modern Young Earth Creationist cult movement got its flood geology from Henry Morris via George McCready via Ellen G. White.

Young Earth Creationism is a cult full of fools and liars
