Ah, a problem with your supposition. There is no "freedom of speech" on this site. Sure, we can say whatever we want, but Christianity trumps bad-mouthing God specifically to keep this site going. We ca say whatever we like, but we'll get banned for saying some things. (Not to mention, the owner isn't American.)

As for lying threads. Bummer. I wish we had digital cameras when I was young. I'd be able to post a photo of one of my brother's imaginary friends named "Thingy." Thingy was either a wade of string or a cotton ball fashioned something likethe Tasmanian Devil cartoon when he was a cloud of flurry. My brother talked for Thingy, and, sure 'nuff, sometimes Thingy lied. lol

ummmmm, what does the site owner not being American have to do with keeping threads "honest"?

I didn't notice that line

I'm curious about that too

I would like to add, as far as the much beloved American 'freedom of speech' cry that rings out loud and regular, how does that reflect on a Christian?

IMO, it should be more like freedom to avoid certain speech

moving right along...

So let's just skip 1 Cor. 5:13God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”? VOICE

Apparently, it is a calling God would have us attach to.
If Purge to you means slander think again. God never contradicts himself. In addition the purging this thread is doing is not keeping things in the light, but assuming judgement and is not allowing for that person to defend themselves. I never want to skip any verse ever but for me it's also any that holds true to understanding scripture and God's will.

When people approach others with the attitude I have seen in here the Spirit of God is not directing that. I am not trying to restart the debate of official rebuke and correction either, for that is part of the whole of Scripture. But instead of assuming peoples positions we need to stay on Gods conclusions. When someone believes contrary to our beliefs we need to exhort them to Christ. meaning lovingly bring them back, not rightfully fingering their face and labelling them for all to see.

God wants us not to be influenced by Satan by associating with evil influences but calls us into the world to preach the gospel, and adds to do it as a servant. a lover of men. And not just the worthy to be loved men for even the world does that. It is all mankind. The hard to love as well men. If one is evil it is not to influence Gods church, but Christ came to save sinners not christians. We are to have a code of conduct in living our life to do that . A code that far outweighs our ability to accomplish it in ourselves. For this is where God's glory is seen, and this is the purpose of God. Not to right the ship of man and expect anyone who challenges it to be attacked. And attacked is an accurate term for some in here. This is unworthy of God's position. To purge in the context of the Word is to stand not attack. There should be no flaming arrow in us when we serve God.

moving right along...
Hers one example: "Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendnego. So these men were brought before the king, and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up? Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes of all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up."

This is the need for freedom of speech. A costly freedom potentially for the three of them, yet a needed position to have for the glory of God to be recognized.

But that is not what position you are coming from right? You are claiming Gods rightness, and thus purging those not in view of it because you are tired of the threads not being honest. Right? or am I off?

But what makes you think you are right in all you say? Is it strictly the Word you stand on? Is it all of the Word? Is it based on collective agreement with others of the same mindset? What is your stand. In purging the one spoken of in here what is his claim to evil? Where is in you that you do not have to defend yourself in this matter, as the three backed by God concluded, and God honored? If you want to persecute anyone in here I am not on board at all! If you want to rebuke or correct one in here they need to keep it in the light and be biblical in the whole of their argument. But the message that usually gets skipped when I mention it is we are only in Christ when His demeanor is being shown His fruit being seen.

The position I am currently coming from, is that some people and that apparently includes you, cannot miss what they perceive as an opportunity to correct anyone and everyone at any time and in any place

What is the matter with you that you think I need a dressing down from you because you think you have some kind of superior biblical knowledge?

You have created exactly the type of post that is the basis for this thread,. You accuse me of thinking a certain way when there is no truth to it at all! You folks who think you are always right, seem to think you can read minds....you tread over others as though you think you are sitting in heaven judging the rest of us and you whine and accuse others of what you are actually doing yourself!

Honestly? what you are doing in this thread is exactly what this thread is about

Take it elsewhere...the world does not revolve around you!~

Well ember I actually love you. And I have been praying for you. Not from the podium of self-righteousness, for I am dead, worthless. But from love of all my brothers and sisters in here. The message I talk about is not an issue of knowledge it is the foundation of placement. It is scriptural, and non-attacking. I will tell you I am personally hurt when you say, "All you folks" and then conclude your self judgement of "who think their always right"...for now no evidence is in need of being harbored if I call someone guilty with conviction people simply look at the conclusive statement as the argument, not pondering the merits to that conclusion any longer.

I'm sorry The things I said are not things you agree with. But I must say I don't agree with segregating Christians from anyone unless they are calling themselves christians and attacking the church. No one is doing that here. Misunderstandings are a position of exhortation not separatism and segregation. If you want to have your own "click" so be it. But this is a public format. And I am not who you say that I am.

oh get off that podium already

and yay you are praying for me...I'm guessing that means you think God has not saved me as much as He has saved you

I am not agreeing or disagreeing

you simply exemplify what all I was talking about in the first place

you win the blue ribbon for rabbit trailing and derailing and turning the thread into your very own personal stage

if you want some kind of 'evidence', go see the local cop shop...I don't even know what you want with me

I have not said you are anyone at all...is that the problem? OK...you are someone! there yah go

please go and drone to someone else...I have a short attention span when someone is going on and on and on about nothing at all and insists I pay attention...I just can't do it

I never said or thought that, So from where might that suggestion be authored? Ember , I honestly do not desire to beat you over the head. I want to befriend you if possible. I may not succeed, but that's my mindset and my heart.

I don't believe God made any junk, I do believe God made us all in the hope of a loving relationship with Him and each other.

I don't own a stage. God owns me. My points were biblical in nature. The part where I was hurt by you was an honest statement. But know I am not mad with you. Nor do I think you a lower person in Christ than me. I am lucky to gather the dust off of Jesus' cloak. Yet, I have come to a point in my life that I must stand on the Word of God. I am open to change if one points out scripturally my divergent thoughts. But, God has been establishing me to sit in things already accomplished in Him for a bit now. It has a tendency to be me now. This is who I am, and this is my participation in these threads, I am not perfect. But, I am obedient.

Perhaps it might be possible to make a thread accessible by invitation only like a Bible Discussion Group without the volume restrictions, or to remove the volume limitations on a BDG.

that's not the reason I don't report if I don't report

I do report when I think it really necessary, but it is not a button I jump on...I prefer to have a fistacuffs in my backyard, but I live too far for people to fly out, otherwise, I think I could settle it all real quick like

You don't have all the facts there costly; I'm not a person who sits on it...I started this thread cause several people thought it was a good idea and a couple apparently had already suggested it...not here I don't think, but in a thread

So, it seems I am actually the only one who was trying to do something concrete...I thought people were serious, but I may have misjudged

Anyway, anyhow, you can see for yourself the keen and eager interest this thread engendered....everything from there is no problem to I am the problem....I don't think I am, but anyway

I'm going to report you now by the way...have some pizza while you wait
Seriously? Pizza? What's wrong with offering me chocolate, raspberries, or both? :p

You need to buy a new dictionary if you think purge means to slander.

And, not to worry. No one can accuse you of assuming someone else's position. You seem to want it served to you because you have a totally unrelated position -- quite possibly with a side of pizza.

I believe purge isn't slander....as mentioned when you actually read my post, yet my point was that slander was used We should not use slander with the label of purging to qualify it.
