Its interesting that Sondra quoted from my post #7820 and changed what i said in the post to read what they wanted it to say on post #7781.

No problem i'll just report this to the operator of this site and let them deal with this person.

It is a valid question Sondra asks

Hmmmmm. I see Sondra did change the quote. Why would a person calling themselves a Christian do the work of Satan by changing what they said?

Its not a valid question when they change what a person says.

Is this what the Catholics have stooped to?

Why is asking about the relentless Catholic bashing stooping? I'm sure you wouldn't like to be bashed on a daily basis

Also, we have a fundamental difference on the reason for baptism. You think its just a symbol where as I know its for a specific purpose
Baptism, like the Lord's Supper, is more than a symbol, they're obediences. Did someone use the word 'ordinances'? They're commands, and the obedience results in grace. Which is Christ's presence, Christ's person, Christ's life. And specific. Not general. But neither has to do with .......... lake of fire forever.

Now the question must be asked, who is your God, Jesus Christ or the Catholic Church?

You cannot say Jesus Christ and believe the Catholic Church is infallible because only God is infallible.
Where is your Catholic religion information coming from?? Pulpit hearsay?? No One Catholic I know has ever put the Church before God... and the Pope stuff, read your bible Romans 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. The Pope is a Vicar, he is the head of Rome, he is government and church, which God himself instituted... Just like every other governing body out there...

Sorry I worded something wrong... I said of Rome, This is not correct it should be of Vatican City in Rome... The Pope is the head of this city/state both government and church... Vatican City is recognized as a sovereign state with exclusive dominion, independent of Italy....

sorry sometimes my brain is faster then my fingers...

God did not institute the Catholic Church. How can you say God instituted the Catholic Church when the Catholics put their teachings above the Scriptures from God?

God says Salvation is received by Faith and Grace. The Catholic Church adds "Works" to receiving Salvation. This is putting the Catholic Church teachings before God.

You really need to listen to what the Holy Spirit says Humiliatus.

What are these "works" you are referring to, since you throw that out? Please enlighten us with the Catholic works we think will get us to heaven since you are such an expert and I'm just a lowly Catholic

He is referring to the "Good Works" the Catholics demand we have to do to receive Salvation.

God has said in the Scriptures that Salvation is received by Faith and Grace and not by "Works".

Ephesians 2:8-9
[SUP]8 [/SUP] For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
[SUP]9 [/SUP] not of works, lest anyone should boast.

The Catholic Church believes that Grace and Faith are both necessary for Salvation, but by themselves they are not sufficient and "works" need to be added to Faith before they can receive Salvation.

True Christians receive Salvation by Faith. Catholics work for their Salvation by doing "Good Works".

The problem with this is the Catholic Church does not say how many "Good Works" a person must do to receive Salvation.

Tell me mwc68 exactly how many "Good Works" a day does a Catholic need to do to receive Salvation? How many "Good Works" a year does a Catholic need to do to receive Salvation? How many "Good Works" total in their life time does a Catholic need to do to receive Salvation?

These questions need to be answered. Otherwise how would any Catholic know if they have done enough "Good Works" to receive Salvation!

Or is it a guessing game where God does not want you to receive Salvation at all?

I don't know Mr. Henderson . Since you are an expert on Catholicism, why don't you tell us. I have never considered my good works as a way to Heaven, but as a result of my faith

I like the Catholic Church. I like the reverance of the Mass and I believe the doctrine. I don't have a twisted view of the church like you do. I know I'm not earning my way to heaven. God has work for me as a believer, whether it be a smile to someone who desperately needs to know somebody cares, to rendering assistance with a flat tire on highway, or even picking up a hitchhiker when society says don't do that. If the Holy Spirit prompts me I do my best to comply. Sometimes in these situations I have not heeded the Holy Spirit. I try to stay in His will, yet the flesh doesn't want to.

LOL, So we should do these things, right? Yet, Catholics do them for the wrong reason? OMG! ROFL
Isaiah said of Israel by inspiration of Almighty God these people worship Me with their lips but their heart is far from Me. Isaiah 29:13

Your attitude betrays what is in your heart.

Water baptism will not and can not save your soul. You can receive the elements of the Lords supper with out end and it will not save your soul. No earthly element can save your soul. You must be saved by grace. Grace provides the blood of Christ to make atonement for your sins. Grace provides the word of God that you might have faith to receive grace. Grace provides the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide all the days of your sojourn here in this world of sin. Grace seals your soul unto eternal life.

Your cavalier attitude toward holy things betrays your earthly spirit of disobedience. I have known men who were born RCC and after they received Christ they no longer followed the teachings of the RCC that were obviously in contradiction to the bible. Many of them tried to stay in the RCC but the Holy Spirit drove them out.

You are a prime example of why I am grieved by the RCC.

Sorry you have such a low opinion of a brother in Christ. That is your problem, not mine.
