Why is it that in our society today it is so normal to see and pass by a druggie, a "whore or slut" or even a homeless person but in the Christian community it is completely different

I hear so many things telling us that todays society is horrible and wrong but we are too

Too many Christians are quick to say "thats wrong!" Or to say "that is horrible!" But what i dont hear is alot of christians saying " I understand that you are having a rough life but you are welcome to come (insert church) and worship or just stand in."

Another matter is that when they come we stare
We whisper
We question them coming
NO we beed to see them as new, willing followers of our lord
We should greet them,encourage but not force them to sit up front and just allow them to be there

Making them feel ridiculed does not help motivate them
And ridiculing them doesnt help our development in the eyes of god

They are humans not vile creatures

Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

First, the verse you quoted addresses "brothers" (includes sisters in the Greek). That means it is talking about fellow Christians, not the world.

Second, what makes you think I judge anyone? You are judging me to say that! I have a lot of love for people for whom life has thrown an unfair curve ball.

Third - there but for the grace of God go I.

Well i wasnt directly speaking to anyone and the verse was to those who read it and could realize they have been judgemental in the past the world may not read the post but individuals will

I think for a few posts, you don't know anyone here, and you are judging people like we have never read this verse in the bible?

Seriously, I have read the New Testament probably 60 or 70 times, including in the Greek, French and Spanish. And studied it extensively.

So why do you think you can come on here and lecture people you don't know, and judge and condemn them??

Also the bible is to be interpreted freely by people

A verse may not connect with a large group but sometimes it feels as though the verse is speaking to you ...

Condemn and freely say that they shouldnt judge others is different

Im not judging anyone though...i have said that "u dont hear alot" not that I haven't heard anyone or seen people help others

It was simply my opinion on the subject if you want to be a grumpy grouch and take it offensively or negativly then okay

And good that you read the bible never said you didnt or that nobody has read the verse...what crawled up your arse today?

I'd like to share an experience which may be relevant to this discussion. Many years ago, I was in a small-p-pentecostal service in which a 'prophet' was speaking. He mentioned a situation in which I and a few others had been involved, and I sensed from the Lord, "Don't judge (the person about whom he was referring). I immediately shared this with the others near me, as though it were a word for them. I realized a few minutes later that it was for me, not them, and that in sharing it, I had done exactly what the Lord told me not to do (face-palm!). I went and apologized.

The point is, when the Lord teaches me something, I often want to share it with others immediately. However, I think the Lord usually wants it to simmer in my heart and take hold, likely rooting out issues in me, before I share it with others. Perhaps, Justifiedgirl, this is the situation with the verse you quoted? If not, please don't be offended. :)

WOW !!!

I see that some still have a misconception of what it means to judge others, as the biblical form of judgment is looking down on others and condemning them by appearance and action.


We are called to rebuke and reprove others in the faith when they are walking/acting wrong, and this when done in the proper way out of love to correct them by His word is not judgment. That is called being chastised by the Lord through His word by working through other believers to show them the correct way.

We are told to absolutely judge nobody rather in the Church or not in the Church before the Lords return.
There is absolutely nowhere in the bible that allows us to judge, belittle, demean, or condemn anybody!!!

Well actually it was a verse i read and it indeed spoke to me and it changed my veiws on alot , along with showing me that i myself have done this

I posted it so that maybe others would go through the same in reading the verse

It is my own thoughts before the verse because even with my grandparents and parents being druggies,my abuse,my sister being homosexual i myself looked at others with judgement but at my family with love

I wanted to have someone else realize what i did and shared

I think there is a problem that comes with a misunderstanding of this verse.And I think you may have this misunderstanding. Christians do not know the difference between judging and discernment. To judge or condemn someone is beyond our power,only God has the final word on who will go to heaven or hell. Now discernment means seeing wrong or evil and speaking the truth about it to someone who has lost their way. This verse is thrown out as soon as the subject of homosexuality comes up. Its not judging a homosexual to say what they are doing is wrong.I bring up that sin because that is the one I hear attached to the "judge not" scripture. Judge not has become a catch all verse to defend peoples right to live however they want to. Its an itching ears gospel.Lets not offend anyone.Jesus said he was a stumbling block.We need to be offended,we need to be convicted.I know I do.

Yes as some get a little to offensive by the way we word things and think you are automatically making a judgment call on them, but the fact is that if somebody attacks you by what you say most of the time it is because they felt convicted by what was said because they are guilty of doing it.

Nobody likes to be told and shown their sin they are still committing because they would rather try and sweep it under the rug and not admit they are doing it. Some even think that Apostle Paul continued to be carnally minded through his whole ministry so that they can excuse themselves for being that way, and they try and use Romans 7 to support that when Paul there was only speaking on when he was still new and weak in the faith.

I am glad to hear another fellow believer say they welcome the conviction as it is a breath of fresh air.

I see so many on here that refuse to accept it and quickly jump into heated belittling attacks on those who have pointed out to them their error to correct them. The bible says if you feel that chastising then you are sons, and we are to welcome and accept correction.

I grew up in the old fashioned church days.Back when they preached with conviction and it convicted us.Every Christian needs to feel that conviction. Sin dulls our senses and we can drift a long way if we dont accept correction.

Hang in there, Kid. In most ANY "Christian" forum you have to read, and reread, and change, then read again before posting.... then just HOPE. Nine times out of ten you are still going to be ripped a new one by SOMEBODY.

Yes which is one of the reason why some churches have tried since the 4th century to try and have the epistle of James removed from the bible. They even tell their congregations that book is not for us, and the reason is his book is all about convicting the believer and warning to us.

I knew you had super hero written all over you the minute I lay eyes on your new visitor OP. As for this OP, it is possible to not judge people so long as you're prepared to leave your conceptions of good and evil behind. Then a new door of judgment (Discernment) will open up to you.

That sounds kinda "new age" rc4l. Particularly because you profess you're not a Christian. Perhaps you should re-read the Christian Chat rules. Number 1 rule states:
