The bible very aptly describes man NOT in a condition merely of spiritual sickness but the bible paints a bleak picture of mankind as spiritually DEAD TO GOD!!
So reality being viewed through the lenses of Gods Word would have us see mankind in a helpless, desperate, utter, wretched and depraved condition. Given over to the lusts of the flesh, lust of the eyes, pride of life. Sinners are at enmity towards God. They do not seek God, they do not want God in their thinking, they count the gospel as foolishness. They hate God and live to please self.
The irony is that sinners are born innocent.. they are born guilty and want nothing to do with God.
They are rebellious and idolaters.
But by the Grace of God he has accomplished salvation to all who repent and believe.

Pride, maybe? It's easier to look down on someone than it is to carry their burden(s). Our sense of morality is sometimes lacking one thing: sense.
I like that you are echoing Christ's example from the four canonical gospels; it's a good reminder of Jesus' teaching. He did, however, use it as an analogy to distinguish the righteous from the sinners.

No, people really are all evil by nature. It's not a disease like arthritis or cancer.
Gen. 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
When we realize that's where we are naturally, there is but no choice than to take it to the supernatural -- God.
Really, really. You're simply not going to talk a bunch of Christians into your way of thinking. It's something like me trying to talk Einstein out of the Theory of Relativity. I don't even get the theory, and he figured it out. This just isn't going to work.
You are, of course, free to learn what we know. Oddly enough, you know it to, but are running rings to avoid it. It's not working. We really do understand sin, therefore, we do know the condition of the human heart and the only response to it, other than to continue hiding in the dark.

John 3:16-21 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Apart from Christ Jesus, man is lost in sin. Lost, meaning you don’t know where you are. The carnal mind might try to rationalize a state of grace in order to turn it into an intellectual concept for the justification of its evil. But there is no justification for the intellectual mind of the flesh. It’s only your illusion. Your carnal mind cannot rationalize the reality of God’s grace.
