Something awkward happened this afternoon. As I was getting my mail this guy in a shiny new-looking mercedes drove by real fast (its a residential street). I thought to myself he must be in a hurry to get somewhere important...

About half an hour later I was waiting in line at the Costco snack bar and that same guy was sitting at a table, having some food with a very pretty girl. I thought to myself "pffft.. that's what he was hurrying up for?!?" I guess I can't really blame him.
Right?! I mean, who doesn't like Costco food??

...what?

Even though I am in Japan at the moment, I still craves authentic South East Asian food...

speaking about Asians. I was just wondering, would an Asian guy be willing to date a non-Asian girl? Or will there be some hesitation? Or would they prefer Asian girls, instead?
*thinks back to all previous girlfriends*

(Note: photo from 20 years ago...I'm going to be in so much trouble when she wakes up and sees that I've posted this, but whatever, because this will be funny anyways)

So...in conclusion, what's Asian, has NEVER dated an Asian woman, and has two thumbs?

THIS GUY. Shour the Bore, how ya doin'?

There can also be some cultural angles to this.

Most traditional Asian families want their children to marry someone who is of the same Asian race and in my particular race, not adopted, as I am, but "a real Asian." It can vary widely depending on family situations, personal opinions, and whether someone is willing to break from family traditions and in some cases, blatantly go against their parents wishes.

*Looks at Shour's list. Blinks.*

So what I think he's trying to say is... Maybe. :p (I'm not a guy, but I am Asian and have never had a romantic relationship with anyone of my "own" specific race either.)

Oh, and I also hear that Kenthomas is also quite a hot commodity, seeing as he's a tall, blue-eyed white guy (very RARE.) *Joke from another thread in which a woman of another race posted an ad looking for a rare white guy, seeing as white guys apparently were very rare in her location.*

Here in Singles, we see it all!

*Pounds forehead on table.*

Why, oh why, do I keep wandering into the Bible Discussion Forum?

It's just a festering pool of arguments and self-righteouness... and I know this!

But for some reason I keep going there and taking a few peeks anyway.

Please, someone, I am in desperate need of an intervention.
It's ok. It's like slowing down to look as you pass by an accident. Just keep telling yourself, "I'm only peeking to see if I can help, I'm only peeking to see if I can help...". God Bless You, seoul, and Dear Lord, please, .....INTERVENE! INTERVENE!! :)
p.s. Late in catching up on posts, got stuck watching cat adventures. .....(intervene!)

*Lynx wanders into Streams...

Eh? I thought I left all those dating threads out in the hall.

*Lynx pads quietly out and goes off to take a nap until Streams gets back to normal.

No Fair. 55 and still waiting for one. One requirement---Does she believe in Jesus? (am I being too demanding?) Of course, if she has a sense of humor and looks like HeidiKlum................ (getting desperate, maybe settle for HeidlKLUMP?!) ........ OPHELIA! Where have you gone? p.s. many asian women I see are really pretty, many seem to have a sweet spirit...VERY attractive. Just hoping Jesus unites me with a mate soon, and keeps her close until then...Race or nation doesn't matter. My prayers go with bowHarp and all who've been hurt in relationships, or even caused hurt as well. We're all fallen, and broken in our own way. May God be our healer and reconciler, our restorer, grant us the desires of our heart, and unite us with who He sees fit. To God be the glory in Jesus' name!

Now I feel bad. After all my joking around about my slanted view of the way Asians speak, here you say something nice about me instead. I feel just terrible.

I'm bery solly.

Trying to leave the house before 9 a.m. is an exercise in futility. Not that I'm in a huge rush to get to Walmart, but it throws off the whole day when I have to make a random trip into town, so the best time to do it is early in the morning. Except it's Not the best time, because nobody is ever ready by 8:30. I mean, Me. I'm not.

I've only gotten one eye to open so far, for crying out loud.

Plus, I told my son forever ago that the "red triangle button" in the van ejects bad children, and even though I have since told him I was only kidding and that's it's the hazard lights, he still worries I'm going to eject him from his car seat and into a hay field. Or else he tries to get me to eject his sister.

...oops.

In an attack of adulthood, I just tackled two big debts that were hanging over my head in as many months. August would be hard financially except that I will be substituting for the organist at church while she is on vacation. I also will be playing in a memorial service, which will rake in some dough as well. It's kind of weird to be thankful for that...

That reminds me of a seminar I saw advertised recently. It was for morticians. It was labeled, how to look properly mournful at $100,000 funeral.

With that price tag, anyone could look mournful.
