Hello everyone! Here is my latest writing. There has always been an Imperialist Patriarchy that has control the interpretation of the Bible, which has been used to subjugate and abuse women. We are in need of liberation from this imperialist patriarchy. Then, we can hold to Jesus' teachings of love which were given before there ever was a Bible.

Sounds like free SEO. (Search Engine Optimizing. A way to get free links to a site to make it go higher on the search engine result pages.)

You lost me at "call the Bible into question" and I am one of the few that would even follow the link...

LOL

Touche, admins/mods. They removed the sales pitch, but since we added to it, didn't remove us.

That's funny! And thank you! :D

May want to remove the link from the quotes of the original message. Otherwise discussion about the subject is valid... male lead households, female led households, or equal disclosure / accountability households? It seems a lot of Christians today do have a more "equal" balance of roles and responsibilities compared to long ago.

In Christianity, women aren't inferior to their husbands. Christian husbands aren't superior to their wives. The distinction between them is of roles, not of importance and value. In christianity, there is no jew, no gentile, no man, no woman, we are all new creatures, we are all called to the same dignity. The relation between a man and a woman should be dictated by love alone, not by ideologies, concepts, dead religions and so on.

It is not for nothing that marriage is, in christianity, one of the holy mysteries (along with Baptism, Eucharist etc.). The love between a man and a woman is blessed by God and is for our salvation.

The fact that christians don't live up to their beliefs is another story.

Those who go on and on and on about how Jesus is "all about love" (which He is of course, but not in the way they mean it) conveniently forget that when He returns, it will not be in the form of a little helpless baby in a stable, but as a conquering King. A King who will put down all of His enemies.

And as for the Bible giving tacit approval to the abuse and mistreatment of women, that behavior lies with mankind, not with God. We have way too much throwing the baby out with the bathwater going on.

Understanding cultural context does NOT mean calling the Bible into question.

It's nice a black feminist believes in Jesus. But she is definitely missing the parts about repentance and sin. And Jesus himself talked about that!

More ignorance and a blatant stand against the inspiration of the bible...........and the simple fact that God made Adam first then Eve and as part of the punishment placed Eve under the authority of Adam..........

But fortunately, Jesus set us free from the curse of the law of sin and death. So we do not have to live like Genesis 3 has authority over us and is alive and well today.

"For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:2

"For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." Gal. 5:1

Is it New Testament theology or not<---wives be subject unto your husbands in all things? Yes or No? And that is the point!.......There is an order......God given order....

God-->man--->woman-->children!

And the freedom from law of sin and death does not alleviate the God given family order as still defined in the N.T. and reiterated in the Epistles as in Timothy and Titus

What does this mean in a practical sense? Wives be subject to your husbands in all things. Does that simply mean the husband has the final say, but if he gives her flexibility to manage or make decisions in certain traditionally masculine roles (let's say making the majority of the income, or knowing better how to handle a gun in the face of a threat because she grew up around them in the country)... then that's ok?
